I've had a few encounters with two guys that aren't GTAF Members - Browbrow and Mr Samen - who I met during the early days of CEO missions when I used to contact other CEOs to state I was friendly. They didn't reply to me but later descended on my truck while I was trying to deliver cargo and instead of ganking me, served as an unofficial escort. Later in the same session they were being set upon by another player during their own CEO work so me and another friend in session decided to return the favour. We spent a while that evening forming convoys while each Organization delivered goods or completed Haulage missions back and forth, so I added them to the friends list in case we wanted to do it again.

 

 

We'd see each other in sessions occasionally after that but would pretty much just do our own thing.

 

Anyway, almost a year later i'm on my Yacht and trying to make some quick cash for some overpriced vehicle or clothing addition - I forget what. I decided that the session was quiet enough to start a relatively safe Piracy Prevention so I've dropped anchor in as remote a part of the map as I can find, which usually nets me an easy $30K. This time though, some typical red-eyed tacticool BIGNESS mask warrior jets over over to me and gets all up in my grill while I've only got a few more minutes to hold on. I manage to kill him a couple of times with some booby trap proximity mines on the staircases and make use of cover until he gets lucky with the splash damage from an RPG. I'm now mashing the respawn button - it's not so much about the money at this point - I just don't want to lose to this combat-rolling GTAO stereotype and I'm almost down to the final minute. He's racing up the steps of the ship as I appear, uselessly, at the lowest deck.

 

A text message pops up on my screen. I think it's from the dude on my ship, giving some usual lame taunt about how much more "skilled" he is at GTAO because he managed to kill me once. But it's not him.

 

"Cavalry is coming"

 

I see movement up over the San Chianski mountains. Two guys riding jetpacks.

 

It's Browbrow and Mr Samen.

 

They come down on him like a swarm of angry wasps, giving me enough time to survive the last 30 seconds or so as carnage ensues. Messages of repeated kills flash up on the screen, even after the Ship's horn sounds and the money drops safely into my account. They've taken the fight to the mainland by this point but BIGNESS leaves shortly after. I send them a very grateful message thanking them and that i'll grind some missions with them as payment. They say it's cool, but there's no need - they just wanted to help out. With that, they take off again and disappear over the hills.

 

On occasion I see them in sessions, but as usual we do our own thing. Maybe our paths will cross again but I don't think anything will compare to the tension and relief experienced on the deck of the Disney Dominatrix that day.

I can't remember her name but I followed her for like 2 months *I was friends with her GTA bf* because she orbital cannoned me then left the session because I kept killing her friend who tried to kill me first.

 

It took careful planning but when I got the kill it was worth it lol no bitch is gonna kill me then expect me not to do anything back.

 

Also just bc im petty I followed her friend into a new session and ghost explosive snipered her in the country side with night vision scope lol

So I have this unreliable kid in my crew that was supposed to finish Doomsday Heist Act 1 with me. He left abruptly without saying bye or anything during that Deluxo mission where you have to hack into vans, boats, and a plane. Now what... I wait for another person to fill in his position and I got this awesome guy on with a mic (forgot his username. :/)  During loading, I asked if he could understand English and he said "No!!! I'm French!!!" then I replied "Ah... français!" it was silent most of the time during the commute to the Deluxo no matter how personable I tried to be with that guy. When we were in the section where we're shooting vans... I got a notification saying

then shortly after, he would say something like "Ahhh... j'dang!" in a calm yet in a very disappointed tone.

 

Then again...

... "Ahhh... j'dang!"

 

When we went to the restart menu, I offered a help but it didn't seem like he needed any of it...

Moments later...

<User> died.

..."Ahhh... J'dang!"

 

<User> died.

..."J'danggg..."

 

After the second time restarted, I just shadowed him and assisted him albeit leaving himself waaay out in the open.

 

<User> died.

..."Ahhh... J'dang!"

 

<User> left.

 

If anyone that's fluent in French, I wanna know what he actually said considering that's the closest thing I heard him saying although j'dang isn't even a word...

The closest I would come is "bon sang," which means "damnit," but it's not the same as what you said. The closest to that, exactly, would be the equivalent to "Ah, shucks!"

TLDR: met a guy in an average GTA senario, turns out to be a cool guy. Puts a different perspective on the "average" GTA player.

 

I was driving around in my rat rod hustler, showing off the car, looking for others with a decent sense of car style. Player after player, same ol' GTA. Oppressors, rockets being fired in every direction, people firing at my passive mode car, the usual. On my way to LSC to fix my car after being hit by a spooked NPC, came across a standoff between two players. One decided he was going to try to rush in with a car bomb, gets shot out of the car. Shooter sees my dot on the map as well, turns 180 with gun drawn. As I'm driving away from another average GTA moment, I see him put his gun down and go passive. About 30 seconds down the road I get a text "Wait come back, I like your car. I want to show you some of mine." Pick him up, go to his garage and check out his car, end up adding him to my friends list.

A random guy I did the Doomsday Heists with, I won't mention his name.

 

He was rank 100 but I felt later on that he was probably playing on a second or third etc... character. He was very very good. I joined his lobby on-call for the third act finale and he just started with the two of us. I had just found my feet with these heists and I hadn't done the finale with just two before so I wasn't hopeful, but I thought "fu*k it, I'll have a laugh with this noob" and wait until he quits. We get to the vehicles and he gets into the Barrage. "F*ck this, this guys an idiot", and I almost left there and then. Curiosity got the better of me and I jumped in.

 

We were at the destination in no time. I was waiting on him going into reverse, but no, he just powered through the enemies without stopping or even crashing. We obliterated the Minigun fellas and were on our way. He had one death but it was after the first checkpoint so we were ok. I did one hack, he did three including the hard one which he did exceptionally quickly, plowed through the rest of the enemies and were on our way. Killed Avon etc... and we were done, couldn't believe it.

 

I did about a dozen set-ups and 3 or 4 finales with just the two of us, one of the best randoms I've ever played with.

I do recall one guy that joined me in stealing Vago gang cars we kept meeting in the territory. I was driving around in my Tornado making them spawn he messaged me if I wanted to assist then I said sure. Then we'd steal them in twos, I filled my garage with him then I assisted in delivering to his place parking them outside when he came out we'd fill much faster. Delivered some with the Cargobob for'em then when we were done we went our seperate ways, probably one of the most friendly I met.

 

Pretty much everyone else within the life span of the game has attacked me if I'm out of passive so definetly can remember the friendlies to an extent. This was most memorable. I've seen some that didn't just shoot but this was one of the only ones that messaged with friendly intentions I can remember other than a guy offering to help with bunker, bout it.

Oh another great thread @Fw2. Basically the most memorable people ive met was my old crew before GTAF. After ending up in tye same session it was me and a buddy against Id say 7 of them in a all out 3 to 4 hour pvp session. My buddy had to bail halfway through it on a call out. After getting butt raped they ended up inviting me to their crew. 2 years later I joined gtaf crew and made heaps of dope people who become friends with. 

Would also would like to mention a few good folk here like @PetrolCB and @Amy Vinewood and basically everyone from gtaf crew who Ive met in my travels. Could go on but yeah had some best/worst  memories with gtao.

Not AFK at all. Passive for about 1 hour. You weren't kicked for idling. I approached 4 or 5 times. Just saying what I saw in-game. What this tread is about. Memorable players we met mainly from this forum. I met you. Don't you believe yourself to be a memorable player? Just because instead of you being the 'session killer" you claim to be you were a marshmallow, you're getting all upset and sh*t, calling me names. I haven't been rude, go read my posts. 

 

It's hardly my fault reality doesn't fit your creative narrative.

A tryhard I ended befriending it turns out he is a pretty chill dude who also likes to help low levels do sells. Everytime he's on he sends me invites and we help low levels do sales and grief kill high rank people who come after cargo. He explained the reason he's tryharding was because he was also griefed on by other griefers so he took it upon himself to become one just to kill the obvious kd warriors.

 

 

I met him by chance because he came after me due to having a 4. KD at the time thinking I was another KD warrior. After 15 minutes of us killing each other across Los Santos he added me went on a party and we had a blast targeting other tryhards.

Quite sure he have, I can certainly say I have. Been in session with him lots of times and the kill feed is relatively active when he goes on a killing spree, some times he stays in passive relatively long..

I was stealing something in a van for a business the other day. Driving through the narrow dirt roads in the river canyon with merrywether or bikers or some such after me. I see a buzzard dive in and come at me head on. Rockets launch, I brace for the explosion... only he bombed the NPCs chasing me. Then just flew off without a word. I didn’t get the fellows name, but it was the first and only time in my recent GTA revisit where someone showed up and instead of just killing me and blowing up my loot, he actually helped out. I was quite surprised by this little encounter.

 

another recent one that comes to mind, I was in way over my head on a ceo briefcase job. My car was blown up, I was surrounded by cops... I grabbed the briefcase off the street and ran. I cut across country to another highway, briefly getting some room from the cops and looking for a car to steal. This guy pulls up and honks his horn. I’m thinking cool, this guy is going to help me out with his awesome modded out supercar and get in. He peels out, right back to ground zero of my massive battle with law enforcement, then kicks me from the car... I couldn’t help but laugh at myself, being so gullible. I eventually finished the mission in a cop car with no tires, but after all the dying, ammunition I expended and insurance claims on my cars, I don’t think I made much profit lol
