Most Memorable Player You've Encountered in GTAO

Recommended Posts

fw3

I'm not talking about the whining 8 year old asking for money to buy an Unpresser bike or the loudmouth redneck spouting obscene comments, offending everyone in the lobby.

No... I'm talking about the most interesting person you've met in GTAO who left a lasting impression on you.

Maybe it was someone really interesting to talk to and engage conversationally?
Maybe it was someone who was generous with their time enough to help you out.
Or maybe it was someone who was just fun to watch, like maybe in combat or even doing motorcycle stunts.

And before the "there ARE no interesting people in GTAO" replies come in, perhaps think about when the game was new to you.
Was there someone who raced ridiculously well or performed flawlessly during Heists that you couldn't help but learn from them or take notice?

For me, it was a fat old lady in a bikini carrying an SMG back in 2014 called something like FuriousZipper.

She was a modder having fun in a lobby wreaking havoc, with dozens of players crowding and annoying her, begging for money.
I got on my mic and suggested to the lobby to back off her and just play like normal – to treat her like a normal player and stop begging.
Eventually, players backed off and she began to give out free money over by Legion Square.
Everyone was thrilled.

I stayed away, minding my business, having my own fun out by Sandy Shores.
Suddenly, I was transported into an apartment we didn't have access to.
She was there walking around me in circles. Next, I was in a rainbow Insurgent and we were flying all over the map at hyper speeds.
For about 45 minutes, we had a total blast in silence.

Then, we were transported to the office in the FIB building. That's when she finally spoke. Actually, it was a "he."

He thanked me for getting players to back off and leave her alone – nobody had ever done that.
He told me to stand underneath a green, floated alien egg and wait... He disappeared and suddenly, money began dropping on me like crazy.
In the end, I was gifted over $200M, which lasted me years, allowing me to play the game as freely as I like.

After having bought 3 or 4 Shark Cards prior to that, my purchases felt completely justified.

Sure, I've met other players impressive with their skills,  but none who actually changed my game so significantly.

On the forum, here, it was @Furry_Monkey whom I engaged with regarding motorcycle stunting and who challenged me to get better and better.
Without ever meeting or playing together, we somehow motivated each other to try new things and explore areas of the game we never imagined. (See this thread for our rantings)

So, what about you? Is there a player - or even a forum member - who has had a memorable impact on your game, be it good or bad?
What was it about that player or their shenanigans that stuck with you?

As always, looking forward to the replies. Stay well & cheers! :)

The most interesting person I have met in the GTA universe, @fw3, is definitely you. Or could be. Keep up the good work.

Not a person, but a crew of 4 guys. I’ve encountered them twice. One of them is called something like NeymarGod or something. IIRC there was also a guy called something Brazil something. Anyway I was just astounded how hardcore they kept grinding money. Even in full hostile sessions they kept at it, and they didn’t die often. I knew I had no chance, but I still tried along with some other guys. NeymarGod, or whatever his name was, and his crew used every single thing at their disposal to keep hostiles at bay. First they did a VIP search. Nobody even came across the street before being shot. Then a Yacht Defense and two guys was on the boat with explosive rounds snipers, while the other two hovered in an Avenger above. I got shot to smithereens every time I touched water or a helicopter.

They went on to sell some bunker stuff, and at this point we were 8 people hunting them. I think I managed two missiles that missed before being brought down.

They just kept at it. A real hardcore bunch that shot first and asked questions later.

It was really something else to see. Kind of nice in a way, because all they kiddie trolls got hammered as soon as they were in the vicinity of them.

Back in the days, when pvp on pc was still clean without any tryharding, i met uversuspro and had a nice little freemode war with him. We complemented each others to our skill and had a nice little 1v1 at the beach. He won of course. He invited me to his crew (NUKE back then) and we had some pretty fun freemode shootouts with others. When tryharding become a thing, uversus stopped playing for a while and i concentrated myself on mastering helicopters. Was a fun time back then. We went different paths with our playstyles, he become good at tryharding in general and i concentrated on a more clean playstyle with various vehicles and tactics like baiting and forcing other players to do certain predictable things.

After searching the back alleys of my memory, the most memorable player I encountered was a griefer.

He was in a wallbreach he thought nobody could get to, but I'd recently seen the video on how to get into that wallbreach, so I went off the radar from afar while he was busy blowing people up outside LSC, shot him in the back of the head and got about 20 messages telling me what a p****y I am. Asked me to 1v1, I accepted, ended around 20-10 before he quit.

He then added me as a friend, and for the next few months, I'd randomly see him in my session, still trying to gain on those kills. Any time he got one I'd receive a "Lzzzzzz".

I like to think that any time he killed me, it made his day.

I wish him well.

most memorable guy i knew was a modder, but not your typical modder. he had a crew of people that he'd play with in invite sessions, me being one of them. but he didn't drop money, and would ignore and requests to do so. instead he would set up cool modes for people to play with, that were only possible with pc magic. so many good memories from 2015 - 2016.  i remember the guys name, i still have him on social club. but he no longer plays gta, his words were something like "i got bored of the game, so i learnt to mod, i made my own mod menu the best i can. and now i want to move on to another challenge"

i have a few other interesting individuals, but right now my mind is blank

Most memorable player was a dude named Fred C Dobbsy.

I popped in to do some jobs and sell bunker stock one night, he seemed to just want to do his thing at the other end of the map, then I commented on his name, and the movie from whence it originated.

We had a fun discussion regard this and other similar classics, eventually he left, but it was a worthy experience sharing a common interest with a random stranger, all while going about our business.

Arrows to Athens

A player by the name of Geoboy (can't remember the exact username). He is a bad sport player and a guy who loves boasting about how he is unstoppable and unkillable in GTA Online. His favourite vehicle is the tank, and his favourite ability is Ghost Org and off-radar. He is not easy to kill, I will admit. This guy is the king of EWO and Ghost Org/off-radar. However, every time I killed him (most of the time, he would have a bounty on his head), he would dashboard within a femtosecond to preserve his bounty. He would then join back and message me about how I haven't killed him and how he is invincible. He would always make up scores as well, like "73-0". Nothing was more satisfying than me killing him and then watching him leave straight after. It was funny.

On top of that, he would always deny me killing him, even though I clearly did. If he is in a tank, and he hears a rocket coming his way, he would quickly switch to passive mode at lightning speed. Whenever he would kill me, which would always involve him surprise attacking me off-radar with a tank, he would celebrate and talk about how he destroyed me, but any death of his would automatically be dismissed, ignored, and completely denied. He is still bad sport to this day.

What a strange fellow.

Spectre "2K"

i remember this guy i did dispatch missions with just last week, he had a deluxo but he wasn't one of those people who'd speedrun missions with it, rather he didn't have missiles so he could do drive-by loadouts and only went hover mode in sticky situations. His rank was upper 900s, definitely a seasoned grinder. We had some synergy going on, one of us would run into the recycling plant to clean house while the other dealt with the spawning enemies outside, the likes. The other two (friends to each other, not above level 100) just hid in their apartment the whole time while we did all the work.

They'd up N' atomize his car every time we spawned, then ran in their Zentorno to the apartment. Eventually he got fed up and hovered above them, disengaged and flattened them. Then proceeded to honk at me and we drove off to do our thing. We ended up on Dispatch VI i think it was, the multi-target one. They got butthurt he fought back i guess, because one roadkilled him and flipped his car so i decided to intervene and smack into his friend a few times. Foolishly, they went for the Maverick at the race track, giving the man ample time to destroy the thing and the vehicle they could hide in. They kept doing emotes on the other side of fences and shooting our windshields until i got a message from the 900 asking if we should kick them. So one roadkill and two kicks later, we were by ourselves and dispatched the night away.

I've honestly never had an experience quite like that with randoms. If i have, it was a long long time ago.

Snowingvirus25, who is probably a 20 stone trucker from Leeds, but whose XBOX Live profile picture is the face of an angel. Good player too, but usually played with this perennially butthurt ugly dude who didn’t like you speaking to “his girl”

She dropped me from her friends list because he got a bit fresh with me one time and I casually asked him how an ugly f*cker like him had managed to bag this honey. I would have come back with some witty riposte about the size of my chubby had I been him, but he saw his arse instead and got all angry lol

some level 30 girl who destroyed me over the mic and came after me over and over and griefed me for literally no reason (I'm garbage at PvP just so y'all know) with her only means of getting weapons being from her "boyfriend" who was dropping guns and ammo for her. eventually, the whole lobby went after her and I hopped onto the mic and destroyed her verbally with some others who also jumped onto the mics, she went offline after she and her boyfriend started getting griefed and when she couldn't give me us responding to her a good comeback. Still makes me lol to this day

@Nutduster shot up my Roosevelt once as I was passing by. Thanks for the impromptu weight reduction job my dude 👍

I've had a few encounters with two guys that aren't GTAF Members - Browbrow and Mr Samen - who I met during the early days of CEO missions when I used to contact other CEOs to state I was friendly. They didn't reply to me but later descended on my truck while I was trying to deliver cargo and instead of ganking me, served as an unofficial escort. Later in the same session they were being set upon by another player during their own CEO work so me and another friend in session decided to return the favour. We spent a while that evening forming convoys while each Organization delivered goods or completed Haulage missions back and forth, so I added them to the friends list in case we wanted to do it again.

aRW8jZk.jpg

We'd see each other in sessions occasionally after that but would pretty much just do our own thing.

Anyway, almost a year later i'm on my Yacht and trying to make some quick cash for some overpriced vehicle or clothing addition - I forget what. I decided that the session was quiet enough to start a relatively safe Piracy Prevention so I've dropped anchor in as remote a part of the map as I can find, which usually nets me an easy $30K. This time though, some typical red-eyed tacticool BIGNESS mask warrior jets over over to me and gets all up in my grill while I've only got a few more minutes to hold on. I manage to kill him a couple of times with some booby trap proximity mines on the staircases and make use of cover until he gets lucky with the splash damage from an RPG. I'm now mashing the respawn button - it's not so much about the money at this point - I just don't want to lose to this combat-rolling GTAO stereotype and I'm almost down to the final minute. He's racing up the steps of the ship as I appear, uselessly, at the lowest deck.

A text message pops up on my screen. I think it's from the dude on my ship, giving some usual lame taunt about how much more "skilled" he is at GTAO because he managed to kill me once. But it's not him.

"Cavalry is coming"

I see movement up over the San Chianski mountains. Two guys riding jetpacks.

It's Browbrow and Mr Samen.

They come down on him like a swarm of angry wasps, giving me enough time to survive the last 30 seconds or so as carnage ensues. Messages of repeated kills flash up on the screen, even after the Ship's horn sounds and the money drops safely into my account. They've taken the fight to the mainland by this point but BIGNESS leaves shortly after. I send them a very grateful message thanking them and that i'll grind some missions with them as payment. They say it's cool, but there's no need - they just wanted to help out. With that, they take off again and disappear over the hills.

On occasion I see them in sessions, but as usual we do our own thing. Maybe our paths will cross again but I don't think anything will compare to the tension and relief experienced on the deck of the Disney Dominatrix that day.

Godspeed, you magnificent duo.

I've met a few interesting people over 5 years, but I need to admit that this distribution is skewed towards the early Xbox 360 days. There was a nice crew BF Surfers cruisers that I joined, players were absolutely chill and friendly, all driving these campers around the map. That's how I've met @Gridl0k and @supanaut, who later designed the crew logo and helped to establish another crew Western Motorbike Choppers Cruisers (WMCC), but I've missed most of the fun due to the big console split. @billy-pilgrim was one of the dudes that I've lost due to the console split, he went to PS4 when I've chosen XB1 and later PC. On XB1 there were some memorable heisters, one of them named Christiano who invented a very neat trick to drop the cops while driving from the safehouse after that Pac Stand repeat glitch. We've earned around 40-50 mil during that time and mastered the escape without the police using our own PVs from  0604 Las Lagunas blvd apartment. That was the peak of my XB1 gaming, then I've moved to PC.

On the PC I've met @Khephera, quite interesting German lady who is not playing anymore and raising her kid happily and @Spadge, one of the most cultured, but politically incorrect lads I've ever met: he speaks perfect English, German and French, works in academia but somehow keeps the integrity that makes him alive and interesting. He eventually invited me to his crew, that was associated with the current crew I'm playing with daily in a closed sessions. I can't reveal the players from the current crew because we like to keep it quiet and it's not well-known, but it's possible to play peaceful, do some challenges, sell your stuff and chat on discord about whatever crap you like.

My inbox at GTAforums is still alive with the messages from 5 years back.

Not so memorable, but unforgettable: a guy called "HeadshotGuaranteed".

I tend to hate these guys with cocky nicknames, mostly after meeting this. It was 100% my fault, but still. I was in Legion Square on my car, checking internet on the phone, while NOT in passive. This guy was somewhere in the heights of the construction building, looking for preys. I was a sitting duck so, BOOM headshot.

He said something like "wow amazing" in the chat and left immediately. Another victim on a big list, that's what I am probably.😐

Not to cop out on this thread, but there really is just far too many to mention.

Met a few bad eggs out there, and a couple of memorable and unforgivable moments came of it unfortunately. But I've met so many good players and since joining these forums I can't begin to list all the great folk I've met here or in game. It's been amazing for me and I only hope anytime I've joined or helped others it was equally as positive too. The only unfortunate regret is that here I've spoken with many Xbox or PC gamers that I feel would also be awesome to mingle with in-game.

Like Jenkiii said too, your threads Fw3 are something I'll remember for a long time. Maybe not all topics but certainty your efforts in creating many good conversation starters, and Amy Vinewood with her elimination games too.

Alkaline is one unique and fun poster here I'll never forget, lol. Always makes me smile. Though special shout outs to Steve, Kenmy, and Bandersnatch for their help and good conversation/text chats, and Stang and the guys that joined for some awesome help too on elites especially. Gat and No Homing for theirs with t-shirt collections also. Rafae and Pedinhuh and another who's name eludes me for allowing me to run a CMM with them on my lads account which was very helpful to me and him both, I really could go on. :)

Forgot a few, knew I would but that's the beauty of this place, full of gold. DemonicSpaceman, Big Molio, and the other few guys keenly stuck in like me there with the times we squabbles over 'public only' good times. And Blasterman for all his nastiness of course, and then there was that cutie, ShadowOps and his various guises, lol. Do like a bit of the old Deadpool comedy. Funny chap.

Damn, this thread makes me feel like I should have been more active

But then again I'm on Xbone so I might as well be playing GTAO with toy cars and boxes drawn over to look like buildings in my bedroom while occasionally smashing the whole thing across the room with a broomstick

Occasionally @Jenkiiii comes over for tea and a race and @Happy Hunter brought over his chopper a couple of times

@livejoker is in a different school and therefore a sworn enemy for eternity too far away

Wish my luck with public sessions was better. I've never really been able to hang around in a lobby without getting steamrolled, blown up, obliterated, maimed, et cetera. On top of that rather unfriendly interactivity, it's usually considerably impersonal. A jet zooms overhead, an Oppressor swoops among the skyscrapers, a helicopter buzzes treetops, and I'm suddenly a smoking crater, without even so much as a comment from my killer. Nobody's been too memorable for their friendliness, four years running.

I have known a few freaks and weirdos, though. Most notably was a guy who was your typical passive mode-abusing, suicide-happy rockbrain that liked to pretend he was so big and bad because he was ruining some other people's fun. Being absolutely useless in PvP, I sat back and observed until he finally went passive for good and left the area, leaving everybody else to get on with their playtime. Amused, I made a remark to the rockbrain about how ridiculous he was, and so started an hour-and-a-half-long display of mental gymnastics the likes of which I've not seen in a game since. In passive the entire time, this guy regurgitated all sorts of backwards reasoning and garbage defensive language, trying to convince me (and everybody else in the session) that he was better than... everybody. That his "skills" in freeroam PvP made him superior to anybody else who played... any game, ever, because he could beat them at freeroam PvP, no doubts about it. Eventually he came out of passive, got wrecked by a Hydra, and promptly left. Yeah, I have to wonder about the mental state of some people.

Ive met a guy 3 or 4 weeks ago while hardest target were on double.

Our team was pretty good and weve won the first two rounds.

After the most of our team recognized that the match were set on 4 winning rounds the majority left it.

So for the next 3 rounds we were down to 3 vs 6. The third was afk and a easy target for the other Team. So we were 2:3 down in rounds.

Thanks god the afk player left and we were down to 2 vs 6.

Ive opend my mic and told him that i dont quit, also dont want to lose here or at least to make them the taste of their win as bitter as possible that they cant enjoy it and that we should work together.

He laughed and agreed.

So we finally worked together. He protected me when i became  the target and i him when he became it.

We did it and have beaten the other Team 4:3 rounds.

We became friends afterwards and when we meet each other on the streets of ls theres always a smile on my face and im pretty sure on his too.

Anyway: ive recorded the last round:

I was delivering a top end vehicle warehouse car in a nearly empty room. I was almost to the drop point and noticed a guy at the last second on an OP2 on a side street just as I was going by. He never shot me or blew me up, so I thanked him after the drop and said to give me a yell if he needs help with anything. He ended up helping me a little while later doing a bunker sale too.

Pretty cool in a world of griefers.

What fame? Strange thing to write🤔. I just remembered you from this forum giving it all the big talk and you were in passive in the session. I don't think the op said this had to be recent encounters. You didn't kill me and I didn't kill you. You were passive the whole time. Just a fact. Not afk, look here you are somewhere else a bit later. 📷

When I first started playing a player named PiroMania killed me a few times in a Piro, then he realized I was a low level and asked me if I want to join him in his Piro and make money, "you don't have to do anything just sit back and enjoy" he said. I just thought he was going to kill me again but needed money so took the chance and he landed somewhere out in the country and let me in. He flew around doing headhunter over and over while destroying the lobby, nobody could take him out and he knew it. I knew from that point on that I really wanted to get good at dogfighting and pvp in general.

Being in a crew helps to meet people in the forums. I've done events with GTAF and VANS - open lobby events with GTAF opened you up to alot of the members here and even a couple of the mods/admins. VANS held an event with a star wars theme - operated by JuniorChubb from memory. Brilliant event!

PBMO used to hold open BBQ's. We got a pretty full session with forum members, VANS-PBMO-GTAF members and a couple of other people from different crews came to this bbq:

I seen Machbud1 in the session on the weekend - didn't do much interacting but he was there.

I've seen Wildbrick in sessions with GTAF members.

Seen Rafae and Kushology in a GTAF event with loads of other members.

Fozzie be always online doing something

Seens Harbs a few times but mostly was AFK.

Zozo80 has been in our lobbies and party chats a fair few times.

The infamous blasterman4eva followed a PBMO open lobby BBQ in passive once.

Gamerz (not sure of her GT these days) joined our fightclub BBQ and destroyed us all

Played with a few guys from WWMC.

Most memorable by far was getting rek'd by Stoakzee 3 v 1 on Paleto Bay beach. Man is a beast in PVP.
