Adamska_
I know RDO has much more variety when it comes to clothing options, but it's pretty bare in single-player. For a game that tries so hard for you to be immersed, they offer clothing options that goes against everything Arthur stands for and represents as a character. Outside of the default outfits (Spring Gunslinger, Summer Gunslinger, Winter Gunslinger, etc.), all of the other available clothing options leaves you thinking that maybe you should have been role-playing as Dutch, Javier, or even freaking Trelawny. It just makes no sense to be dressing to the nines only to be doing blue collar activities or missions. It completely kills the immersion. Could you imagine wearing a suit and tie to do construction? 90% of the clothing in this game, canonically speaking, Arthur would never wear (perhaps a younger Arthur would as we see in the picture of him, Dutch, and Hosea). I just wish for every clothing option available, there was an alternative of that but just more dirty, aged, or rugged. Countryfried
Completely agree. Just look at the customization options for two of the potentially best coats, the Hunting jacket (only red and WHITE?!?) and the Worsted jacket (patterns, patterns, patterns). And don't get me started on the trapper outfits. Am I playing an outlaw western game or the video game version of "Blades of glory"? (I blame online, of course ...) Just give me some plain alternatives in brown colours. Like how is it possible for any boots or saddle to be completely spotless and clean, especially in that time period? It makes no sense to have dirty looking bedrolls and saddlebags while the saddle and stirrups are pristine. And the weapons equipment... outside of the default gunbelt and holsters (and possibly LotE gear), all look like something a poser such as Dutch would wear. Absolutely no characterization from them to show that they belong to Arthur, someone who actually lives the life and actively uses it. Not a single wear-and-tear on any of the weapons equipment. RyuNova
So you want permanently dirty clothing? When the game has a dynamic system already for it? Your clothes and your horse accumulate mud and dust as you play, getting a bath or changing your clothes removes the dirt. Unless you mean you want more trampish clothing in general. You are not buying your clothes from a thrift store you know and the trapper tells you himself that he takes pride in his work so he is not gonna just give you a burlap sack. I dont understand this topic. DrDetroit and crazedZ10
DrDetroit
Agree with RyuNova. Why would anyone buy, with money, worn out clothing? That does not make sense. The items that Arthur starts with are beat up and you can buy some worn looking vests, coats, jeans, boots and chaps. I also dont get the post about boots not getting dirty, one of my biggest gripes when the game came out is how my boots get instantly dirty the moment you step in mud. I appreciate it now but then it annoyed me. It repeatedly tells you in the catalogue that they also take pride in what they sell. Unless they want the clothes to get damaged over time causing people to need to rebuy or repairs clothes which even I think is a little too far. I dont understand this topic. Yes. Did the outfits I used as examples actually confused you even further? The dynamic system, unfortunately, dirties up my face as well. I want clean face with dirty clothing, you know, just like the examples I've provided that are also included in your copy of the game. I simply see no confusion here, unless, your issue is actually due to lack of comprehension and/or inability to read. That's a personal problem, chief. 18 hours ago, DrDetroit said: Agree with RyuNova. Why would anyone buy, with money, worn out clothing? That does not make sense. Proceeds to list worn clothing that can be bought by anyone. Interesting. 18 hours ago, RyuNova said: I also dont get the post about boots not getting dirty, one of my biggest gripes when the game came out is how my boots get instantly dirty the moment you step in mud. While I appreciate the attempt your grasp of sarcasm is poor at best. Please don't try something you have no clue how to use. I still fail to see why you would want damaged clothing when you are buying brand new clothing from the catalogue 40 minutes ago, Adamska_ said: They also repeatedly sell "Worn Roper Boots". Come again. Worn is a design style not a statement of their condition. Like you can get faded, stressed or even ripped jeans from brand new. Come again. Also you do realise that the clothes you mentioned are actually Arthur's clothes right? That he has had for a long time and the stuff they managed to grab from the Blackwater campsite. The clothes you buy are brand new and thus will not be damaged or aged. Edited March 12, 2019 by RyuNova DrDetroit

I see you conveniently missed out a large portion of my post. Hmmm. So why would you be able to buy damaged clothes? Where exactly would Arthur buy damaged clothes when all the shops that sells clothes are respectable shops. Unless you wanna buy clothes stolen from corpses from the Fence or even better let us strips corpses and wear dead mens clothes with bullet holes and all all. This is stupid topic and you know it, thats why you are being pedantic and combative. DrDetroit

It's funny you have resorted to semantics despite the fact that I've used no such adjective. Furthermore, I'm not entirely sure why you continue to rehash things that have already been more than clearly explained. Then again, this simply adds further confirmation to your lack of literacy. Now carry on, petulant child. Edited March 12, 2019 by Adamska_

That is the definition of arguing semantics. You continue to prove you have no leg to to stand on when you need to resort to insult the people you are conversing with. Ad hominem, attack the argument and not the speaker. I will state it again, this is a stupid idea. Does not fit the game in anyway and you know as such which is why decided to get your arsehole all clenched up and start attacking people. Just because Arthur is some notorious outlaw does not mean he cannot spend his money on new clothes and dress like a tramp.

Talk about irony. Funnily enough, I've not attacked anyone in this thread. Me pointing out your lack of comprehension is neither a personal attack nor insult as this is simply what you have continuously exhibited in this thread. It's an astute observation on my part, if anything. To recap what seems to have flown right over your head, I made a topic with details that were more than sufficient and you couldn't understand it. If you couldn't understand it, then clearly it is your own personal problem. Game.

I understand the words, I understand them enough to realise that the way you are using them is an attempt at a show of intelligence. Someone who has a point and understand what they are trying to say can say it in the simplest words and still make sense. No-one talks nor types like that unless they are trying to show off. Now I know you are going to crow, "These are not hard words, I am just smarter than you" You called me a "petulant child". Game, Set and Match. So again, stupid topic which you know it is and are trying to cover it up with gusto and bravado.
