Rockstar Message with my IP and $100000

I'm new to the world of GTA and I only recently got this game on the PS3 (also really behind in consoles). But I was playing GTA V online today and someone blew my car up I'm assuming in a deathmatch even though I was passive. I don't know why I never participate in these things. Well, right after that I get two messages on the screen that look like the following:

Removed $100000 from bank

And it was doubled like that. I checked my bank and I don't have nearly that much in my account but nothing was missing either. Is that some hacker trying to steal my cash out of my account? I think I'm a little more concerned with my IP coming up tbh. I rarely do anything that horrible in this game except out run the police and rob convenient stores. I never participate in deathmatches or races cause I'm more about doing my own thing.

Due to the Peer to Peer networking nature of the GTA Online infrastructure, it's likely that anyone with the know-how on any of the five platforms can acquire someone's IP address. Unfortunately, aside from using a VPN, I'm not sure what there is to prevent that other than not playing the game / only play with friends. 

 

And yeah, that sounds / looks like somebody using a mod menu. Quite a common thing on PS3 and Xbox360, and Rockstar Games no longer offers much support for those platforms.
