Starting Over

So, I never thought it would come to this. But it has.

Looks like I'm starting a new character on the PC. The game is on sale and the only person I can reliably depend on for co-op games has acquired it as well. My main platform is the PS4 but I have noone to play with on it.

Only found out a few days ago (I never checked after the PS3 transfer) that you cannot copy characters from PS4 to PC anymore. For almost two years already. Whatever. Douchebag move, crap priorities from Rockstar, etc.

So, starting over I have to accept that literally everything I had is gone. And this leaves me wondering two things.

1. Is there any point to using my old account? If I'm forced to start anew, I think it's probably safer (what with people dropping money and getting you banned??) to use a new account - especially if there's no benefits to the alternative.

2. Social club tells me that on the Playstation I've earned 526.6M and spent 444.2M. There's no way I can get all that back in a short amount of time as a now very casual player. But does anyone have any tip for (example) a certain type of heist series to run often, specific types of stock to prioritise in the nightclub when I'm able to buy it, etc?

On the PS4 I have all the businesses and just log in from time to time to do a one vehicle gunrunning sale, nightclub promotions and sale, stuff like that.

Answering your questions by number:

1. You stand to lose nothing by using your old account to play on the PC - you'll get to have your entire game historial tied to one place which makes it easier to keep track of. Let's knock on wood before saying this: if you were to be hit by a ban wave, only your PC progress would be reset while your old PS4 save would remain untouched. After all, fair or not, the punishment is only applied on the specific platform that is being targeted. I should reinforce the fact that playing on PC is not an automatic death sentence and would tell you to just have fun and don't worry about something that will most likely never happen - there's no use in living the same problem twice. Still, it's a shame this sort of thing has to be discussed but, unfortunately, it's what Rockstar's track record brought us to.

2. You mentioned a friend that you can rely on to complete co-op jobs, that's good. This allows you to run Act II of the Doomsday Heist which is the best sort of job to run with another friend in which both of you stand to make a fair amount of fortune. To add to this, DH finales get double rewards often which only adds up to it. There's also the grey area that depends on your own code of ethic: repeating finales via a glitch - whether your stance is on it, if it ends up interesting you, information on how to do it should be easily accessible.

When you get enough cash to buy a Nightclub, I'd strongly advise you to concentrate on the following businesses (in order of profitability): coke, cargo, meth, bunker and counterfeit cash. If you want to do all businesses, once all product is accrued from those five previous sources, have a technician collect weed and, finally, document forgery.

If you want to see more relevant data on this, please check out this comprehensive post or the link to a Google spreadsheet provided in the original post of the same thread.

I hope this all made sense and is useful to you. :santa:

I just made 2 million :( im only buying what I need this time but damn it is taking long to just reach level 100 :( idk why I'm doing this. It sucks not being able to transfer PS4 progress.

Why would anyone want to go to PC? If you're only interested in singleplayer then I could stand behind that but with all the modders? Argh, hard pass. #cantrelate #ps4forever

Why don't you just get other people to play with? Seems like a long way into the game (near its death) to start from scratch.

Especially if you've already done it all.

That is an excellent question. I bet most people would just make a post (I might do that, but just for planned activities) and find new people to befriend.

I'm definitely not giving up on the PS4. Even as a casual player (I haven't even made it to rank 400 on my main character) I've put in (IMHO) countless hours to make that money and build up my collection.

I also really thought I could copy my characters to do stuff on the PC version at some point.

But it's hard to really connect with people and most players that I run into I don't have the history or "chemistry" with that I have with this one long time friend. Game is on sale and I just figured I'd see if I can bear it.

That said, if somehow I do run into people that I stay in contact with outside of the game (on the PS4) I'll likely hop on more often. But that'd be easier if I had my own system instead of having to borrow one all the time.

In a nutshell: best friend no PS4, me difficult but will see.

EDIT: @deadx23

That's kind of my plan for the PC version as well. See how much time I can be bothered to put into it, how much money I can make and what funds I need to buy what I want/need to have. So rather than looking at a nice super or classic car collection I'll get my bread and butter with things like the Kuruma, some weapons, maybe invest in the modification research, etc.

Ofcourse having all of the other things on the PS4 is even MORE enjoyable if I did have people to play with. But again, gotta see how that goes. Life gets in the way.

First step, make a friend and do contact missions together. Building both your character's stats and bank account (Until Thursday)

Second, do the Fleeca heist so you can get a Kuruma.

Third, get a bunker. These are nice passive-income money making machines.

From here, don't upgrade anything but the Bunker and be sure to idle in contact missions to build stock to sell later.

Once you have the money, get the MOC or anything with a weapons counter. You will be able to have early access to the "staple weapons" of GTA (Combat MG, Heavy Sniper, etc.)

Continue building your character to your liking knowing to only spend your early cash on things that make you more money, e.g. Biker Businesses, Club, Terrorbyte, etc.

It is a slog getting everything rolling but once you get momentum, the money will start rolling in enabling you to have a lot more fun in this game.

And yes, I do speak from experience, I started building a character for a family member about 2 weeks ago. Since then she has earned plenty of money, has a fully functional bunker, CEO Office, vehicle warehouse and cargo warehouse. Petty cash is a little thin (1 Mil) but her principal vehicles are fully upgraded (Race wins) and her stats are growing quickly due to contact missions and free-roam skirmishes. In fact she just got Orbed for the first time by a butthurt tryhard last night. I almost woke up the family with my cackling from that.

Oh and yea for the argument I have no life, yes that may be true but I do work 60-70 hours a week.

Re:  Nightclub earnings

As pointed out by someone else already, the five businesses you should prioritize are cargo, guns, coke, meth, and cash.  I'm just going to add that, although you could reassign technicians to weed and documents once the other goods fill, there's literally no benefit to this.  In fact, all this does is slow down your earning potential.

Running your nightclub warehouse is principally the same as driving a car.  If you want to drive as fast as you can, you floor it. To "floor" a nightclub, you have to ensure that all five of your technicians are constantly accruing goods in the five most profitable areas.  Constantly.  Or at least, as constantly as possible.  Inevitably, one of them will stop after having accrued the maximum number of whatever category they're assigned to.  But when this happens, this is your cue to do a full sale of everything in your warehouse, not to reassign a tech to weed or documents.  Because time a technician spends accruing weed or documents amounts to time they're not spending accruing something of greater value.  In other words, you're not flooring your nightclub with technicians reassigned to less valuable goods.

To ensure maximum earning output, keep your techs on the five most profitable goods.  Never reassign them.  Once one of them finishes (and Tony will text you when this happens), sell everything.  This ensures that all five of your techs will continue accruing away at the highest possible rate.  This works out to one sell mission of 805k (715k after Tony's cut) every twenty hours approximately.

My point still stands, if it was me I wouldn't move if it meant going to a platform that's more compromised than the others. Terrible trade IMO.

Non legal way use a magic menu to make a replica of your ps4 account.

Good luck. Playing on PC can be a nightmare with all the cheaters roaming free. If you find a way to bypass the cheater scum you can have fun on PC. Me and a few friends have a small group/crew and we do firewall white list lobbies when needed. We also got one who just jumped from console to PC. If this what you look for OP you will find a post under recruitment with links to out social HUBs.

I like your name man, blackmilk that is more authentic than white milk, fresh from the oven 😂

Anyway my best advice is to use that port forwarding or app on PC, that would helps you a lot for grinding other than that it's a mess, but sometimes it can also be funny AF 😂

You guys are mentioning port forwarding, apps and firewalls. If you're talking about ways to get "private" (so with friends) public sessions, could you please elaborate? Alternatively AT LEAST a reliable and legitimate method for "solo" public sessions.

The small app from CodeSwine is super easy for solo public, a bit more work for safe multi public. A friend put up this guide. To get a public with only friends just read the guide. Even I got this to work.

Legitimate? hah. I would rather get banned from GTA Online for making solo public sessions than get my pc hacked by a script kiddie.

I blame Rockstar for still using peer2peer instead of dedicated servers. Everyone knows you can't trust the client and you need server verification for anything a client does

If you want a solo public session without using any 3rd party programs, join a normal public session first, then open Resource Monitor. (hit windows+R, type "resmon", hit enter) and freeze gta5.exe for about 10 seconds

would be cool if you could simply sign out of your account on ps4 and somehow use it to login on pc. when the whole character transfer thing stopped, i think i recall people submitting tickets asking for characters to be transferred in situations similar to yours. might be worth a try, i may have dreamt to whole thing though.

Honestly, PC isn't that bad nowdays. Most of the hackers left to PUBG or free CSGO anyway.

It's total RNG, but this year i've met just 2 hackers with godmod so far.

actually it's not that bad anymore.

in most lobbies there are no "modders" (better term is script kiddies because they cannot mod a sh*t).

since rockstar banned most of the mod menus.

You can't get banned for solo public session.

There are GTA tools that can do it faster

You are getting tricked. You can save your money, but if you waste your time on this game, it would be a bigger loss. There are a lot of PC exclusive games (the ones with the co-op modes as well), I would consider playing something else.  Also, I thought the PS4 gta community is way bigger?  Wouldn't it be easier to find friends there?

You can reach level 100 in less than a month if you stick to the VIP work and crates

If you are planning to follow this tip, stick to the external low-key mod menus, which are safer. Don't use any expensive menus with offensive options.
