ThaBirdCoot
Any solutions to this ? I wanna drop the weight on my char but so far, no luck. Tried the story mission approach, running around with heavy armor suit but it doesn't seem to drop still. How long you gotta do it really ? Does it even actually work ? Just don't eat at all in free roam. I went from overweight a few days ago to underweight, quite quickly. My cores were red and drained while I was duping. 58 minutes ago, AmyStone said: I'm finding it really hard to stay a normal weight. I keep eating but it doesn't take long before i need to eat more. It's getting ridiculous. Maybe you could rely on highest level tent and more frequent camp visits. You will go from drained red to full cores, quite quickly. In minutes. If you feel like your cores drain too fast, you might need to deal with clothing warmth. It might be too hot or cold or unsuitable. ThaBirdCoot
@EktopeI haven't eaten anything in a long time. My char should be long starving by now, only smoking cigs, running, climbing all sorts of structures. Guess it's just another bug, surely it can't be intentional going from fair to overweight by eating a bit canned foods. I am not even using big game meat since going fat anymore. He never had weight issues before the update. Guess I'll just keep not feeding him until...God knows when.

Collibosher
So there's no fix to this bug currently? I can stop torturing my character by keeping all the chores in red? I'm starting to feel sorry for her, she's wobbling and shaking around... I don't know if related, but running doesn't kill the character anymore. The core drains, but after that she just keeps jogging.

Just run, run, run and don't eat, eventually it'll drop weight at some point. I was fat with the 125% core drain, did not eat anything for hours on end and just marathon through the whole map. At average weight now. Afraid of eating at all though. Assblaster and Collibosher

Assblaster
I've given up on trying to stay low-weight. Not worth the trouble of running to camp all the time. They've obviously overcompensated by tuning the player weight system at some point. Before I couldn't gain weight; now I gain too much lol. The character I'm playing the most right now is brawny so he gets noticeably bigger as he packs on the pounds. I'm sure they'll probably tune it again at some point, if not then he'll just stay bloated. I hate that sluggish, sick-looking way they look and walk when they're starving. ALifeOfMisery
I wouldn't mind the weight system if it wasn't for the terrible clipping issues from average weight and upwards on brawny character models. Van_Hellsing
I do not feed my avatar at all. Finally the camp is useful. The camp stays in the same region. I rest in my camp until the cores are filled. I noticed that my avatar gains weight from drinking a beer, courtesy of Cripps. My avatar is at 6.25% drain increase. After two beers it's at 7.25%. My avatar still looks slender. In fact I think my avatar has a bony ass. But the weight doesn't drop. I am grinding money for the final pamphlet I want to purchase. Otherwise I would have upgraded the tent by now. Rockstar was occupied with fixing the passive mode cougar sales. I don't think Rockstar is inclined to fix the overweight issue soon. areyouchappin
Just another bug to add to the list. That or R* is testing sh*t out. I found it rather odd that being Underweight was such a big issue before and now all of the sudden being Overweight is the new problem. Maybe R* is checking out some specific numbers? I don't know, I'm just trying to make sense of all this foolishness. We probably won't see a proper fix for this or anything really until the Beta is complete, if it ever gets completed.. The rate at which R* takes to fix bugs or do anything productive with Red Dead, allows new bugs, exploits, and issues to spring up every other day. Some of you guys sound so god damn dour lol, of course the devs give a sh*t, T2 may be involved in some way but the people making the game, writing and fixing the code, of course they care about the game and want it to be good and for the people playing it to enjoy it. This is clearly them working on the weight system, maybe it took as long as it did for the current implementation due to other reasons, who knows. I hope it gets fixed quickly myself as I much prefer the issue being underweight than overweight but atm it is what it is. "Prolly won't see a fix for this or anything till end of beta" lmao give me a f*cking break lol. I agree it can be frustrating, try to have a little perspective. They've clearly been working on bugs the whole time and the most recent update actually introduced quite a few fixes that I was surprised and glad to see fixed. If you wanna ignore all that sh*t just because one particular bug is still in the game or some exploit wasn't patched for a whole week or something then that's on you. My fears about this is completely justified, my friend. Rockstar Games is being unpredictable.. we have no idea what to expect from them. This could be good or this could be really bad. Horse Bonding, still broken since Day 1 Player Weight, still broken since Day 1 (even after they supposedly "fixed it") Hairstyles still missing and certain hair colors can't be equipped since DAY 1 Certain Story Missions and Stranger missions can't be started, and sometimes starting a Stranger mission, it will randomly abandon the mission a few moments later..... During the introduction to Showdowns(the little scene where your whole team walks up holding weapons), it will still sometimes show your team walking waist/knee deep into the ground lol Oh, and this last update added a new bug I found recently, I'll whistle for my horse and when I try to go to the Horse Inventory, it isn't available... I'll see Weapons/Items.. but not the Horse option. I'll have to make my horse Flee and then whistle it back to get the usual Weapons/Items/Horse options to appear. Those were just a few of things that I put up with because I love playing this game. I know that all these issues will get fixed eventually, but until then we are stuck living with these problems and we have absolutely no clue for how long. Even after R* releases these new updates, the bugs continue to remain.

I must be pretty lucky to have somehow gotten it to work, hope it stays that way but it's not game breaking anyway I suppose. Just irritating. Are. you. joking. The famous Rockstar logic in action. Meanwhile I bought the A-frame tent for the camp. It's selling point is the chair in front of it. Just sit down and your cores are reloaded in a few minutes. And looks, I feld a bit sorry for my avatar to camp openly in the rain. With the bare bones bedroll I could take a toilet break and the cores weren't reloaded after I came back. Public fire places reload your cores too slow to notice. And I ran half a marathon from Rhodes to Emerald ranch. My avatar is still stuck at 6% overweight. Drinking fine brandy or Guarma rum also counts I think. Cigars or tabacco does not count but it destroys stamina. Edited March 10, 2019 by Van_Hellsing Ronin Ogami
