Best xp

Whats currently the best xp grind / glitch / exploit?

I know about repeating Kill them all in Fort Mercer, but it seems your xp now drops to 30+ for a takedown execution to 5xp after a set amount of kills.

Any tips?

Showdowns and Stranger missions.

Stranger Missions but let that clock tick down to 30 sec or less for MUCH better xp & payout. If you're lucky, the final drop off point is somewhere you can hunt, gather or fish while waiting but keep your eye out for trouble. Better when you join a posse and everyone knows the score.

600-700+ in Showdowns but I'm really hoping for double XP (on anything) this week.

Avoid any areas that look hostile. Unfortunately, that's almost impossible to determine since the patch, the same patch that was supposed to have the opposite effect.

Now they can pop up out of nowhere. Bring back the pink dots.

Both systems have their pros and cons, I have noticed I get shot less now than before when in towns or moseyin' around, but I get run up on by randoms when doing stranger missions much more.

Most people I've been playing with, jump into Story missions and run the 20 minute trick (do the mission but don't trigger the ending and stall for 20 minutes max). Go do some hunting, load up on herbs, sell stuff at the butcher in peace and then trigger the ending. I've gotten anywhere between 400 to 900 XP each time.

I've tried this, but I found that I was netting more xp overall by just repeating the mission in Fort Mercer. If you let them kill you just before Teddy (the armored shotgun guy) comes out you can restart from in front of the fort. With 30xp per kill if you do a takedown execution x 25-30 kills give or take, thats about 900 xp every 7-8 minutes.

But running down the clock while hunting is good for making a bit of extra cash though.

People always discount the XP value of kills when they say you get more XP when you hit that 20 minute mark. I found that I was leveling much faster when I started doing missions consecutively.

Hardly anyone knows it though. If I run the clock down people just end up leaving my posse or continuously try and shoot me or lasso me.

600-700xp is not a small return for a 7 minute match.

This ain't true. How much does Story Mission give you in 10 minutes? In Showdown Series Large which is not a Mission, it gives up to around 2,000~ XP, depending how many you kill and winning.

 

There's a LOT of awards to reset which gives extra XP.

I refuse to believe you've reached 478 from just story missions. My friend who absolutely no lifes the hell out of story missions isn't even half your rank.

 

On topic, Showdown is definitely your best bet for XP.

Well I've seem another player with rank 413 way back in Feb. 23 on story mode mission (Because we have to kick some random players off the story mode mission to keep it private story mode mission). There was more rank 400 which is currently grinding on story mode. But I don't know how many rank 400 are there.

You don't need a camera, just take a screenshot...are you on xbox or ps4? If ps4 hit the options button at any point (go to your sharing & broadcast settings, set SHARE button control type to "easy screenshots") and it'll snap a pic each time you press option button. Then go to Capture Gallery (under Library) and upload those pics to USB drive, put on laptop, then imgur, then post here.

In Showdown Series Large, there's 7 minutes in-gameplay and 2 to 3 minutes of lobby screen waiting times. So roughly 10 minutes per match.

 

Most Wanted / Name Your Weapon (Free For All) - Winning 1st place gives up to 660 XP, $46.00~ and 0.08 gold.

 

Hostile Territory - Can go up to 1,500 XP or 2,000 XP, $__.__, 0.08 gold.

 

All these in 10 minutes. If Story Missions are lasting 30 minutes, then the rewards I've described above are 3x three times.

 

660 XP x 3 matches = 1,980 XP in 30 minutes. (Most Wanted)

 

1,500 XP x 3 matches = 4,500 XP in 30 minutes. (Hostile Territory)

 

$46.00~ x 3 matches = $138.00 in 30 minutes. (Most Wanted)

 

0.08 gold x 3 matches = 0.24 gold in 30 minutes.

 

So Showdown Series Large gives more XP and $ in time taken, than Story Missions.

But Story Missions would probably give you more gold, by completing them.

PvP Showdown Series Large.

 

Basically a print press for Cash, XP and Gold. Even a fairly meh performance you'll get good rewards and with little threat of lost income.

 

Meanwhile PvE stranger missions will often never trigger or the server can frick itsels and you get D/C'd or someone can interfere and you get no reward.

Then you'd just have to get better. I meant the matches may be randomised. Getting 2nd or 3rd place would've been fine too. They're like 600 XP to 500 XP. The $ money was actually supposed to be $44.00~.

 

I didn't forget about lobby waiting times. I mentioned in the first sentence. 7 minutes in-gameplay, 2-3 minutes of waiting. I'd rather say it's around 10 minutes so 6 matches in an hour.

 

And I haven't taken into account, the number of player kills. Someone might win Most Wanted or Name Your Weapon (Free For All) and gets 20 to 30 kills. That's like 600 XP to 1,200 XP from player killing added on top 660 XP from winning.
