Up2NoGood45
Vapid is obviously Ford Bravado is Dodge Invertero has to be Chevorlet Grotti is Ferrari ...... Some make no sense to me like the Shyster Fusilade which looks just like a Chrysler Crossfire but then Shyster comes out with the Deviant which looks like an AMC Javelin. Hegedus.Roberto
Many GTA brands are mixtures of multiple brands that are similar or when some car doesn't seem to fit the previous brand there is sometimes some rl trivia behind it. In the case of Schyster Deviant, which is based on the AMC Javelin, the trivia is that AMC was actually bought by Chrysler. There are some less obvious ones like the Bravado Verlierer where Bravado is obviously a stand-in for Dodge, but the Verlierer is based on the TVR Sagaris. Other than that most common interpretations are listed on the wiki about gta vehichle Brands:https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Vehicle_Brands Edited March 3, 2019 by Hegedus.Roberto NT2YIELD, Up2NoGood45 and Beato_dim
Atomic_DoNkEy
Grotti stinger looks most like an E type jaguar if you ask me. Which should be ocelot then I suppose. Seems like they started out mixing and matching cars. Now they are staying closer to the real counterpart. I think it gets more screwed up with the cars that were released with the game. nido997
shyster is definitely chrysler ... the deviant is a shyster because AMC was a part of Chrysler Corporation , maybe .. plus we do have the example of the Ubermacht Revolter which should be an Albany , since it looks more like a Cadillac than a BMW ... Chrysler bought AMC in 1987. Which in turn is why the Jeep brand is under the Chrysler umbrella now, because AMC were the owners of Jeep back then. Anyways thats why the Deviant is a Shyster. Ohh, looks like I was ninja'd several times. Thats what I get for not reading the topic ahead of time. Also, yes, all of the manufacturers in game have been linked to their real world counterparts, since only one new manufacturer has been added since launch, this has been a topic of discussion for over 5 years now. Also Inverto is just the Corvette "brand". They started marketing them separately from the rest of the Chevy lineup a while back, similar to how Dodge markets their trucks as just "RAM" now. Buccaneer, Manana and Hermes have some Buick feeling. Annis includes Mazda too. Classique isn't a brand anymore. They included them into Declasse. Enus is also a Bentley. Ocelot includes Lotus too. And Overflod serves as general independent european supercar maker like Gumpert Apollo or something. Many one-of cars are thrown into varous brands too. For example car based on TVR Sagaris is labeled as a Bravado while Lancia Stratos and Alfa Romeo are Lampadati. Not a big deal anyway. Also you forgot about Rune. Probably RUNE, seeing as the Cheburek is a VAZ, and Rockstar likes lumping similar manufacturers together. All of those former Soviet manufacturers, sharing similar names and typically utilitarian styling, are ripe for consolidating in the Rockstar method of branding. There's some precedent for that too; the Vapid Chino is another example, since Ford has been Lincoln's parent company since '92. The correlation isn't always perfect: The Washington is clearly based on the Lincoln Town car but is an Albany (Cadillac); Dundreary has a lot of cars that are Mercury AND Lincoln-based; Ocelot and Lampadati together seem to be a mix of Jaguar and Maserati but blend a lot; Declasse seems to be slightly over-used, etc, etc It's actually pretty rare when companies like Obey or Pfister correlate almost perfectly. Leaves me in a position to never know how to organize garages by company: do I go with what it's based on or what the fictional manufacturer is? I sort of forced the precedent on myself when I really, really wanted all my classic Grottis together. So now I have classic cars over 100k IRL in the nightclub (patrolled by guard), classics under 100k in the office but divided VERY loosely by company, and new cars in my most used apartments. I guess it's a mix of both strategies. I've been digging that. Edited March 4, 2019 by NT2YIELD

Lampadati is also a catch up brand for all non Ferrari/Lamborghini Italian cars like Alfa Romeo and Lancia. Principe is also Ducati. Lately R* has been throwing around random brands in supercars, like in the Holden Venom GT, the Koenigsegg Arrow and the Ducati Sixteen.
Schneller
I honestly feel like Declasse is Chevrolet, and Invetero is Declasse’s tuning division. This would explain the “Declasse” logo on the Coquette Classic’s various liveries... Up2NoGood45
Willy A. Jeep
I would also vote that Buckingham is somewhat inspired by Rolls-Royce, considering the aeronautical production, and looking at the logos: Yellow Dog with Cone

Willy A. Jeep
44 minutes ago, Pedinhuh said: DeClasse is not only Chevrolet, it's the whole GMC brand, Cheval is Chevrolet...Sort of. Hardly. Brute makes up the GMC alternate branding, with the normally Declasse-branded Burrito taking on the Brute nameplate when repurposed as the Camper, Rental Shuttle, Tour Bus, and Ambulance, as well as the Chevrolet/GMC-based Boxville. Declasse, despite some odd inclusions in its make-up, is certainly closer to Chevrolet - both being French words, and most Declasse vehicles are Chevrolet analogues. Cheval is Holden, curiously, since they weren't sold in the United States, but its few standard cars lean to Holden.
