I saw wolf corpse appear a the butcher in Rhodes. And some ghost figure. Someone was making a killing.

These Ghost players starting to appear in Free Roam events too. See one in Dispatch Rider, King of the Castle and Cold Dead Hands. When they get the objective it's game over.

This is exactly what ruined RDR1 online. It was even well known who was planting the bug but he was never banned, just kept coming back again and again gumming up the works.

Up to $2,000 per hour...when it works (which most of the time, it doesn't lol).  When I spawn into West Elizabeth, I usually see 3-5 players at the Blackwater butcher, and estimate 20% of the lobby is glitching.

2000 per hour is a bit too high of a guess. More like half of that. It‘s making you a fortune

It seems around $500.00 to $1,000.00 here. It's harder to make this work consistently as it involves three stages that can screw up. First needing to make passive work. Then hoping to find 3* big cat. Then hoping the despawns. Then praying other people don't rob or steal. And the disconnection.

Yea, last night I was making less than $500 because with so many people doing it, the carcass eventually disappears (you can still sell the invisible carcass, but for a 1* price).  On March 1, I was making close to $1,000 an hour at Tumbleweed while using the store catalogue to despawn my horse.  I could never get my horse to despawn by interacting with the Tumbleweed butcher, but it's easy to do in Blackwater or Rhodes.

RDO still has the BETA title attached to it, so that pretty much means they can do what ever they want. Reset money, rank, or what ever. The BETA title gives Rockstar all the freedom in the world, and their TOS also gives them the power to BAN anybody foolish enough to use the money glitches.

Saw this last night, i picked up half a dozen cougars off the road at the Blackwater butcher, t was silly upto 30 odd cougars just spawning there and folk going mental trying to sell. This aint going to end well

They won‘t give a damn. They‘ll patch it pretty soon and thats it. 

 

From what I‘ve noticed, most players that see this happening by chance are selling cougars for half an hour, if they even manage to get one before they‘re despawning. They‘re making 100-200$ an hour maybe. 

 

Only players who do the glitch themselves are gonna get rich, and these definitely arent that much. Like 1 or 2 every 2-3 sessions.

It was bound to happen at some point and as a general rule I don't care how players get money in game. 

 

I would have thought it would be simple enough to track and money wipe if R* were inclined to do so. But, I would also have thought tracking someone selling hundreds of Elergy Retros in GTAO would be simple enough and those players were left alone.

 

Even if I cared about players duping animal carcasses I wouldn't want to see a money wipe or ban wave as R* never, ever, gets those right. Innocent players invariably get caught up in R*s carpet bomb punishments, which isn't acceptable.

That's why they'll never do it on consoles imo. Might be a thing when a PC version releases and people are modding.  For GTA they actually proved that they don't give a damn about the PC community.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s so easy money and so quick that it’s real difficult to stay away from it. Especially with how grindy it is to make money legit (and even more so when R* consistently nerfs all the good money-making opportunities - really it makes you pissed when you think about it). I honestly don’t understand how those saying ”Nah it’s not for me” are thinking. It’s spreading like wildfire, soon everyone knows about it (a LOT of people have already exploited it), and I can’t imagine R* doing serious resets or anything on their already dwindling playerbase. The true fans and enthusiasts still play, and from what i can tell they abuse the hell out of this glitch.

 

It’s symptomatic of the games larger issues. And with R*’s (or should I say Take Two’s) blatant and increasing greed, I for one don’t have any qualms about it.

 

Will it affect the economy? Not sure. I wouldn’t think it will since they’ll patch it real quick, and whatever’s left of the economy after that will go back to the same old rules/framework. They can’t increase prices or anything because after the glitch is fixed those prices would become gargantuous in comparison to the low pay you get from all legit activities.

 

I say glitch away if you know how as much as you can, and buy recipes/card upgrades/whatever you can, because they can wipe your account balance but that’s as far as it’ll go, I don’t think they’ll go as far as to reset/undo purchases, let alone reset accounts etc.

 

It’s just like back in ’13 when it was raining moneybags. Shop away and never look back, folks! The game is pretty sh*tty in its current state anyway so who cares what happens, really?

I'll use the current passive glitch, as I don't view it any differently than making a solo public lobby in GTAO, not the way I'll use it anyway, but won't do the carcass dupe glitch.

 

I'm mostly playing for XP right now as I'm only 2 levels away from Express Explosive ammo and as Story missions are broken, being able to run Stranger missions without interruption will speed up those 2 levels.

 

In GTAO I never duped, but was more than happy to do the PAC Standard and Bogdan replay glitches. Makes no sense really.

 

I'm sure I'll regret not doing this carcass dupe when things like properties come along, but at the moment there's very little I want to buy.

@ALifeOfMisery I see your point, and to tell you the truth I’m the same way - I think it comes down to how difficult it is to do the glitch as well as how risky it is lol, anyway at least for me. So here I gotta agree with @rusbeckia’s post above; if you just start doing it it’s really difficult to know when to stop You don’t even need to do it yourself, you can just go there and hang around.. I can almost guarantee any session you join will already have people there doing it already.. maybe you know this and you still don’t want to try, to each their own! But I find it difficult to stay away, I gotta say.

I think it comes down to me not having the personality type that could play on if a character reset happened.

 

In GTAO my PS4 character was/is my main, but, if I got banned I'd just pick up my PC account again, it has a higher rank and more money anyway. If that got banned I'd by a modded PC account for £10 and be in the exact same position, if not better within a few hours. 

 

In RDO, as I don't do structured PvP, it's taken me from launch day until yesterday just to hit level 88. I probably wouldn't be able to muster the enthusiasm to do it all again should the worse happen.

 

It's so hard to predict any R* course of action, will they do nothing or will they go completely OTT? My guess is they wouldn't dare embark on a console ban wave, but I think I'll play it safe.

 

I don't know why my attitude has altered, because back in the day in GTAO I didn't give a f*ck, I was all over things like the hooker glitch and the billion dollar bounties etc.

Yeah, I saw a huge pile of Whitetail Bucks in Valentine yesterday lol. I was extremely tempted, I have to be honest lol.

Some just don't like to cheat games, lol. Not too hard to imagine, and like GTA:O, if there's plenty of varied content to see gameplay thrive, it's really easy not to. Never needed to over there, even after my old gen account got hacked/wiped and I started over 2 or so years in. It was easy.

 

This too would be, but it'll be made harder of course as if players raid tgat much cash, more will become more expensive or gold only. Bit of a shame, but again, if the gameplay and options are there to attract me back, it'll be easy enough as I'm not into the cosmetics here like I am in GTA. I got my horse and gun, as a PvE player, that's all I need.
