Is there a way to disable the quick turn-around mechanic in first person?

Pressing R3 in first person makes you turn around instantly, which is specially annoying when you're trying to trigger Deadeye at a dire moment. Is there any possible way to turn off this mechanic or at least counter it?

Just looked at the first person controls but I can't really see anything about changing it. Or countering it tbh.
