Option 2 looks pretty interesing, i really hate that San Andreas is a goddam square from above, and Flint County being more at south than Santa Maria beach allways looked stupid.

No, they added extra vehicles and stuff which I don't want. All I want is properly working and purely untouched LC and VC maps with just paths and radar map, nothing else:).

What about mixing the 3D and HD maps? Like, maybe adding Portland to the south-southwest of Broker (and rotated to face north, stanting in for Long Island) and Shoreside Vale (minus Francis) north of Alderney.

@The Eddo - What I can do is have all the added stuff separate like the maps. Each IDE has its own designated IMG regarding maps, so the same can be done for vehicles, all you will have to do is delete (this is still using modloader) or replace the vehicles.ide, cargrp.dat, carcols.dat with the default versions to just have the SA vehicles by themselves

As one part of the public, I also agree with Option 2. Why isn't there a poll for everyone to show their support for Option 2?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Random thoughts that are cool but have a questionable realism in terms of being done:

 

 

Give trains the BETA horn, give railroad crossings an electronic bell warning sound, fix the incomplete freibox, and fix the trams so they can be used without bugs.

Would Option 2 force a need to have fire trucks, ambulances, and biker cops on all of San Andreas rather than only in the three cities? I always wanted each city in San Andreas to have a fire department for each city (ambulances of a city would have fire department liveries) and have the vanilla fire trucks serve in the rural areas.

 

There is definitely no Watch_Dogs reference in the image above by recreating the liveries from the cities that the games take place in.

Any plans to add the San Andreas Highway Patrol, San Andreas State Police (CSP was separate from the CHP until 1995), Liberty State Police, and Florida Highway Patrol? (Have them and all other law enforcement agencies use the Stanier (80s and 90s), Premier (also 80s and 90s), HPV-1000, Police Wintergreen, Police Maverick, SWAT Tank, FBI Truck, and maybe Unmarked Cruisers based on the patrol cars along with SWAT trucks based on hazmat trucks, if you add any.)

In the case of the Tampa parody, 

remember that when you add x, the name becomes Tampax, a tampon brand. This means we need some tampon reference in the parody's name in order to recreate Rockstar's humor 

 

If you do Arizona, can you parody Maricopa County and call it Mariquita County? (Type "mariquita" into Google Translate as Spanish and look at the definition that isn't ladybug.) Also, do something like making the sherrifs there drop money when killed, or raise the respect stats faster than in other places when killing cops.

Somewhat more realistic traffic variety:



 

In my idea, absolutely all vehicles that are chronologically relevant should appear in places whose time periods match. This means LC should have SA cars and VC cars should appear everywhere. Vehicles based on old cars should also appear in other areas. This means vehicles like the LC Esperanto and SA Sadler can appear everywhere.

 

Another concept was to be able to adjust the general decade of the entire map, which would affect traffic and replace a couple of things like ads with more year-appropriate material. Emergency vehicles could be made for each decade in each city. This means there would be police cars based on the LVPD, LSPD, LCPD, and VCPD. At the very minimum, all police forces should have police cars based on both the Premier and Stanier of a respective time period. As an example, the LSPD Premier model could be used as an LCPD cruiser along with the default 90s Stanier. Another example involves using the 80s LVPD Premier as a base for a VCPD cruiser that could be used along with the existing ones.

 

In terms of realism, we should be able to see some few random civilian cars have license plates from other cities.

 

 

When thinking about improvements, SA should not be neglected.

I already suggested this but with no success in the GTA Underground thread, what about converting San Esperito from Just Cause 1 and Los Toros from Total Overdose?? Adding a Mexico parody (Los Toros) on south of Los Santos and Latin America?(San Esperito it's a parody of some Latin America state) and maybe maps from Driver 3 (Nice and Istanbul) or London from The Getaway or Stilwater from SR2 that would make a GTA World.

I suggest adding M. Osborn's Extended Interiors Universe for Liberty City. Also I'm not very fond of the idea about adding the HD maps, they will look out of place.

First things first I've done new radar maps from scratch based on satellite maps of VC, LC, BW and a wip radar map of the Gator Keys. Each map tile is in a resolution of 512x512

Screenshots of Trilogy's progress. Trilogy includes VC Beach Park & LC Statue of Liberty both done by Odie (RIP) out of respect for him. If anyone is not happy with the inclusion of his map mods I will promptly remove his work from Trilogy. The screenshots also show The Vice City Extension map, the interstate and the Gator Keys bridge from the docks in VC. Odie's Beach Park can be spawned into the map by a cheat code.

Deathsquad Island is a small 'bonus' island in the Gator Keys that is from @DeathSquad Interstate 420 Mod. It has been amended into a island and has traffic/ped paths, I'm including his map mod out of respect. If anyone is not happy with the inclusion of his work I will promptly remove it from Trilogy.

Here's something that's always bugging me, especially in the Underground mod:

Will you edit Bullworth to make it fit in the SA artstyle? I know the game sets in the 3D Universe, but in comparison to Vice City or even San Andreas, Bullworth looks more high definited. Which looks out of place in San Andreas, IMO.

 

Perhaps downgrading the textures quality should do the trick.

@dent0nz - To make Bullworth models into SA style will be quite time consuming to do. Maybe as you say downgrading the textures might do the trick (I do need to remove all the normal maps etc for BW that SA doesn't use anyway). Or maybe give SA, VC, LC etc the AI enhanced texture treatment to try and make up for the difference but not sure that would be a good idea. Also Carcer City & Cottonmouth will need textures downsampled as they don't really fit SA like with BW. I'm with @tizerist but I will do that if everyone has the same problem with BW, CC & CM

@PiashGamer007 - Are the images not loading? I can use another platform if everyone else are having difficulty loading the images.

I think it's better to give the other cities better textures imo plus, it's more future proof.

Or just make some SA styled textures for the Bully city.

 

This project gets more and more epic!

 

Edit: Maybe for GTA 3 you can use the Xbox textures? But then you have to find something similar for the other cities.

But AI enhanced might solve it :p

You can´t convert most of the cities you mention, at least Los Toros from Total Overdose can´t be converted and then have to be created copletlly from scrach, so it makes much more sence to create a custom city. Also since GTA taking place in the USA the custom city should be based on some real US city and not any city outside USA.

I don't know how hard is it to move entire landmasses (I guess it's a modder's nightmare), but I have thought of this:

I think it would benefit for this mod to move VC, LC and Bullworth more close to eachother, and close to the SA map itself.

 

Yes, it might be unrealistic or lore unfriendly, but at least it should free some time for creating the landmasses between these maps. Also, the SA map already have the cities unrealistically close to themselves, so why not?

 

I did a quick mock-up of how the map should look.

NB: Also, it might be easier to connect the highways to the already existing SA ones, so you can travel by car more quickly and easily.

 

I know this map is old, and it doesn't have the Manhunt maps, but I think they're unfit for open world games like GTA; imo I think it's the best way to remove them from this mod, maybe add a public poll for this?

By not doing the MH maps it should free some time for working with the other mod's maps, just my 2 cents.

If the Bully map being too detailed compared to the rest is still an issue, perhaps converting the map from the PS2/Wii version might be a better option, since the assets are lower quality than the SE, and more in line with the rest of the map.

The textures are still gonna be insanely detailed iirc, at least compared to San Andreas

@tizerist - At the moment its just gathering dust, haven't got plans for it. I converted IV map in case users here wanted a HD version with the maps from IV & V together along with BW, CC & CM.

@Ivan1997GTA - I do have a rough scene that I need to export from 3ds Max sometime to see how it looks ingame.

@dent0nz - It wouldn't be a nightmare, especially as the coding side for the added maps haven't been added. This was always a discussion with UG & SOL as some users wanted the maps closer while others thought it was better to have them further. Trilogy will have custom landmasses so having them further away will allow space to add new terrain.

@Gummy  - universetwisters is right, don't think that would make any difference.

It could revolutionise the mod if it was included....I guess both Liberty's would need to neighbour each other, to make a sort of 'Greater Liberty'

Mixing HD and SD era cities is not a good idea, even cities from Manhunt and Bully are more detailed then SA, they still can´t be compared even to HD LC. The best solution would be to have 2 complete separate versions, one with all SD era cities and an other with 2 maps from HD era.
