Not really, at least not in North America. Shorts became a part of men's sportswear in around the early 1900s, and weren't worn commonly by adults, more often found on school uniforms of the period (specifically male). Around the same time they were worn by the British military, called Bermuda shorts and usually worn in tropical environments by the forces stationed there. As for women, shorts were definitely not considered appropriate attire by the people of that time.

The hat is unique to the $450 Zacateca outfit, which also has pants and a variation of the poncho which can't be bought separately.

 

That's why I can't find it. The zacateca is for male characters only. Would have been great on her

I think (can't get on right now to check) that the hat from the Zacateca outfit is called "Sombrero". In the hats section of our wardrobe I'm sure it's listed as "Strung Sombrero".

Yess! I'd love to have my bow in black or maybe adorned with some feathers or something. It does say 'Bows' as plural in the catalogue, maybe we'll end up getting a customizable bow in the future.

Same for the Paddon shirt (the one with the laces at the neck), also male-only. Damn shame because Ithere aren't a lot of shirts with the  dark brown color option and this does, but can 't get for my girl...

Also, the females need a collard button up blouse. Have you noticed how the ties and bowties don't exactly have a blouse that "fits" with it.

They should add some native American clothing items and allow native American styled players use a tomahawk instead of a hunting knife. I mean, they were still around in 1898 and we can style our character's appearance as native Americans.

Gave up on all black a while ago, since the best saddles aren't even close (save for the rattlesnake but that's not pure black either.) went with a Black & red/Skulls theme. Blame Roy Focker's  Veritech for my long running love of skulls & the Jolly Rogers pirate logo.

In everyone's opinion, what would be the best choice of clothes that could help me make an "insane" character? For the record, I have a female character.

There's one, but the only collar is a wing collar (and it only comes in white) - it's the French Dress Shirt, which is a unique item, only found as part of the Grizzlies Outlaw outfit:

 

 

 

 

It's a bit pricey to have to spend $250+ for an entire outfit, just for the shirt - however, it is rather nice, and I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it (paired with some plain black boots, a black waistcoat, and the black grey-stripe trousers from the Copperhead Enforcer outfit).

@Commander S just out of interest, does that outfit, containing unique items from two separate purchasable outfits, keep either disappearing or making all your outfits disappear?

 

I made an outfit using the poncho from the Zacateca outfit and the Sheepskin Vest from the Copperhead Enforcer outfit, it would save, but every time I started the game back up either that outfit or all outfits were gone.

I've never had an issue using clothing from the Grizzlies Outlaw outfit personally.

Not that I know of - the only outfit-related issues are just the typical 'if I change to a custom outfit, it replaces one of my saved outfits' nonsense, and not understanding what the rules are on how hats/bandanas are handled with regards to horse storage (because R*'s system is bass-ackwards... ).

 

Might be because I bought them in person in the store, just to be on the safe side - I've heard that some of the glitches have happened when people bought outfits (particularly special outfits) through the catalogue when out and about (bugs like not being able to access the pieces separately, or outfits not saving properly).

 

But yeah, I've been mainly using stuff like the trousers/boots/belt/shirts from the Ultimate Edition outfits since launch (indeed, the Blackrose belt is the only one I've ever used), and I've not had any outfits disappear.

 

 

What we really need is wardrobe outfit storage - i.e., a bit like GTAO's approach, but saved at camp/outfitter wardrobes, not just horse outfits. It'd be good to have 10 outfit slots (or more!), and then just pick 3 for the horse at any given time - and that way, even if R* can't fix the glitch with horse outfits, having them saved properly in your wardrobe at least means you can re-equip them quickly, and not lose/forget what combos you've saved for future use.

I don't even need to mix and match items from different outfits, if any outfit of mine has the white French dress shirt from the Grizzlies outfit it causes all of my saved outfits to get removed. This problem is consistent for me across all my characters.
