I don't mean to sound greedy but "long time players" I mean the players that have been playing long enough to have everything/everything they want. More Cash, Gold and discounts are fine but when you have nothing to spend it on...

That's why I said we only have a few pieces of new clothing in terms of new content. Stuff you could spend your money on.

Exactly. I really dont want to seem like I am being greedy or sarcastic but this game does not have enough stuff to warrant discounts. There is no "it item" that people lust after. To me its quite obvious that this game is not doing as well as they say it is and its extremely hard to make stuff for that tows the fine line between catering to the Fortnite crowd and the hardcore players.

The closest thing to an "it" item this game has are horses, players want the horse they like the best. But there's no longevity in that. Yeah, there are so many breeds R* could add, but we aren't going to have stable space for 100+ horses like we have with cars in GTAO, so the one in, one out situation is already here for a lot of us.

 

The game is probably doing well within the limited parameters R* are congratulating themselves over, which I expect are unique daily logins, overall logins per day/week/month and average spend per player on gold bars. If they released the figures on playing time I wouldn't expect that to be all that impressive when the average is worked out. Because for every player logging multiple hours per day I would think there are many just logging in for a Daily or disconnecting and giving up.

 

It is a fine line to tread, but I have the solution, f*ck the Fortnite crowd, f*ck trying to chip into their V-Bucks budget and go for the roleplaying experience the players who will carry this game for years want.

Happy and content players don't buy Gold Bars. You think something like the OpMkII would have sold so well if the mouth breathers actually had to grind for weeks for it?

It's the main drawback of the monetisation model we have. You need a constant supply of new players and casual players to make what we have no work, which is crap for long term players.

 

You know what happy and content customers will do? They'll renew subscriptions. I'm over it, I wish R* would allow players to subscribe to a premium tier, then I can f*ck off to my fully working private lobby. It's the only way for R* to get another penny out of me with the exception of a PS5 rerelease.

But tinfoil hat time, I wonder if thats where R* is heading. Make the players so desperate that anything seems like a good idea. Drop a massive bug fixing patch at the same time as Paid Lobbies to mask the idea.

Honestly, I don't know why more players don't want this, aside from R* not deserving the extra money, which they don't.

 

As long as R* made a good job of the subscription, which in my opinion would be that nonsubscribers miss out on no playable content and that all subscribers get is the exact same game, but they get to choose who they play with, a few gold bars per month and some subscriber only cosmetics to put a target on their back whenever they venture back to public free roam.

 

Price it around Spotify/Netflix/Disney+ and take my money.

We never said (Well, I didn't) that they should charge us for it or only make the game work in these Lobbies. I just said that I could see them letting it get so bad that if they dropped a big patch AND the Paid Lobbies at the same time they may think that people would overlook the Paid Lobbies.

 

While I agree that Invite Only lobbies should be in the game I can only see one reason as to why they were removed and why they did not add them back when they were bending over backwards because of lost player count towards the end of the BETA.

I agree, IO lobbies should have been in the game from day one and they should be free.

 

But they weren't in the game on day one, still aren't in the game, despite milestones which would have given an excuse to add them such as coming out of Beta or the PC release. With that in mind it's reasonable to assume that they either aren't coming at all, or that if/when they do come, that they will be monetised.

 

I'm a pragmatist, regardless of how things should be, what's right and wrong etc., if a subscription is the only way I can get private lobbies, then I'll pay a subscription, what R* deserve comes far lower in my priorities than my own enjoyment.

C'mon guys, save this stuff for the appropriate threads, I wanna see peoples outfits here, not read debates on ways the game is still sucking (even if I agree on it). I know you're talking about clothing and stuff in a way but ya know?

 

Anyway here's one of the latest outfits I've cobbled together:

 

Really digging the new vest still, think I bought all of the variations but one maybe, but at the same time still blown away by all the sh*tty hats they keep adding. There's more hats to buy than any other clothing item at this point I think but I still find myself only using the same handful of 2-5 hats (one of them being the worthington hat that I don't even remember getting, musta been a rockstar gift).

We should be able to keep hats we find, and perhaps other clothing items.

You can do that in single player, right? (well, hats anyway)

 

I got this from a delivery wagon driver, made it part of an outfit which I saved, but next session it's gone.

 

 

Of course, then they know we'd be finagling a way to get police uniforms (potentially for heists/robberies some day?).

Yeah it's crazy how with all the hats they've added there's still a lot from SP they haven't, and even color variants of ones we already have that I find NPCs with that we can't purchase. For example there are no clean cutter hats for purchase, yet you can find them on NPCs at times.

Big ol yawn from me, don't get me wrong I grabbed a few items from the new limited item stock (color variants I wanted but didn't buy the first time around) but other than that nothing interesting to me. Also hoping all the cow print garbage is limited to this "update", and that we won't be seeing more of it after this.

We will see more, its easier to just retexture stuff and call it new than actually make new items even if Single Player still has loads they can just port over.

Well yeah obviously, I don't expect to not see reskins , just was hoping they got enough negative feedback from this ugly cow print stuff in particular to avoid anymore of that in the future.

As for me, I can safely say the Marshall coat has moved into my favorite coat spot again, used to rock the shotgun coat quite a bit but after one of the updates the way it hangs around your sidearms got a bit funky and it flows kinda weird when running now. Still can't believe they haven't brought the winter shotgun coat back either, trying to be frugal and I only bought the black one but now I just want more options >_<

Yeah the black one is by far my favorite so I try to switch it up and wear some of the other variations as well.

 

I enjoy the coats (overall) so much I have to go out of my way to save a couple no coat outfits just so I have some of the desire arises lol

Winter shotgun coat was among my favorites too until one day I noticed the hideous rip with stitching on the back. I don't understand why R* felt the need to put that on there.
