Schokoladeka
I tried to recreate some scenes/screenshots from the original video -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DBrG2YjqQA Original scene snapshot from that video: https://i.imgur.com/MaeM0wQ.png Got stuck here: (my pic - I know it's positioned incorrectly. it was a test) https://i.imgur.com/5i2sbZS.png How the hell is it possible that the sun goes down above the river on the right? I tried all weathers and all different timecycles but it never looks like that .... because the sun just does not go down at that area... Check this out, this is where the sun goes down (my pic, in -game) https://i.imgur.com/AlRlTS2.png This is some major BS, Rockstar...that's cheating. Why does Rockstar cheat in their videos? They claim at the end of the video that it was captured on PS4. Hah, sure. Yeah. With that X8-ish MSAA? With that pedestrian/vehicle density? Lie more...this is frustrating. Cr!minal
It's just another example when R* alters sun position just for one specific scene. They can claim it is in game footage and captured on PS4 - which is technically true statement. However what they do not mention is this specific scene cannot be achieved during normal gameplay - oops. D T
BUT IN YOUR EYES I SEE YOUR THOUGHTS SURROUNDING ME The traffic on that freeway scene was pretty bogus too, but goddamn that was a memorable trailer. Zello
The Rockstar marketing department at their best. @saintsrow where you at?
Jack Lupino
Just a few days ago I was also watching the trailer. I think it was captured with lots of motion blurr ,high post fx ,ultra reflection msaa and low brightness which can be only achieved with PC. I've seen both PS4/xbox1 gameplayfootage and I have never seen the game look as good as the trailer. Yeah and the trailer itself was recorded in at least 2560x1080 (21:9 known as 'ultrawide'), of course the video then was rendered in 1920x1080 (16:9 known as 'standard widescreen'). Can PS4 support up to 2560x1080 (in GTA V)? I don't think so but since I've never owned a PS4, correct me if I'm wrong, please. I believe this trailer was recorded on PC with some sort of 'dev build', meaning that the game was heavily modified/tampered with, in order to enhance the visuals and that build is not what we can buy in stores. I'm pretty sure that tremendously high amount of pedestrians / vehicles requires much more horse power than a PS4 can handle, hell, even PS4 Pro. The video itself is art. But cheating THAT much is just lame. The actual game we get does not look that nice and lively. Some areas are like desert, totally, ghost towns. 1.) 0:14 Two mountain lions are running up a hill (somewhere near Mount Gordo maybe?). I've never seen that in-game, it could be possible, tho. 2.) 0:31 Uh...look at all those cars. The game actually feels like it's alive and not a ghost town. I wish it looked like that in the version they actually released... sh*t. 3.) 0:34 That traffic density is absolutely high, looks like LA, for real. Enhanced like a m***f...k...r. Also, by observing closely you find that those blue light rays (emitted from cars headlights) are in a horizontal position, all of them. In the actual game aren't they vertical? I'm not sure about this. 4.) 0:39 Yeah...just...what this forum topic is all about...Rockstar re-positioned the Sun, just for the video. Awesome, thanks Rockstar. Really. 5.) 0:40 - 0:41 Keep an eye on the homeless dude on the left hand side, the one that looks like Niko Bellic in the blue sweater. That animation is the drunk walking animation, however, it looks too smooth, doesn't it? .. Possibly mo-capped just for the video? 6.) 0:45 Extended shadow and distance scaling (which is not present in PS4 at all). Check the distant cars, they have shadows. Look at the distant buildings, they aren't the low-poly models and I think from that far away the game would have loaded the low-poly models. I doubt the PS4 version has that high distance scaling. It should be 80-90% without extended scaling. 7.) 0:47 - 0:49 In this scene, Franklin's walking down Strawberry. You can see a hell of a lot of 'scenario peds' in there yet I've never seen most of them standing at those particular spots, for example on the right, next to that pole or street lamp or whatever it is that CGF girl is talking to a male CGF gangsta ped. I've never seen that in-game. Maybe I'm just blind, right Rockstar? 8.) 0:50 So many peds. Awesome. 9.) 1:02 So many vehicles. Awesome. I feel like Rockstar cheated way too much...we've been deceived. I don't like this marketing strategy. Do you guys think this marketing strategy works? Would you guys still have bought the game if the trailer looked exactly like the actual game? That's a good question, right? TheSantader25
Still better than other devs tbh. Though this is the world we're living in. Ads are like this in any industry.
D T
I mean this is the same company that tried telling us these were taken on PS3 Spoiler
SmileyBandito
That trailer pretty much looks as good as RDR2 does. Total downgrade though. There were even dynamic shadows and whatnot.
