U Carmine
Here is a summary of changes I've come up with for Showdown Series Large. 1) Cattleman Revolver should be on the go weapon when moving around. It's more reliable than Double Barrelled Shotgun at mid range in case you see someone. Since there's no more 100% accuracy in Dead Eye. So you can't even headshot with Double Barrelled Shotgun at mid range easily. 2) There's no need to switch off Dead Eye after headshot for Eye For An Eye III Dead Eye boost. It got fixed to work while in Dead Eye. 3) Go crazy on Snake Oil Tonics. You won't even lose Dead Eye bar after dying. So they'll never get wasted. Special Snake Oil got fixed so you should be able to craft 'em now. And it's only 2 Indian Tobacco + 2 Currant / Poppy. 4) Always start with full Health, Stamina and Dead Eye core before entering Showdown. If you go in with half Dead Eye core, you will have the same at the beginning of every Showdown match. Whether you filled it with meat, cigarette or whatever. It'll go back to half Dead Eye core. 5) Don't change to custom outfit if you got posse outfit. I changed my outfit to a custom one, and I didn't get my hat back every time I respawned in Name Your Weapon (Free For All) and Most Wanted. So it'll just be posse outfits exclusively for me. 6) Dual wielding Revolvers / Pistols has become less useful because there's no more 100% accuracy in Dead Eye to shoot 'em really fast and make 'em all land at mid range. It got worse. I'm debating whether I should change to Sawed Off instead. 7) Lancaster Repeater feels like the new Varmint 2.0. It's really accurate, even without Dead Eye. You could shoot someone's head at mid range in a second of aiming. Varmint feels like it has similar accuracy, but the range apparently got reduced. Litchfield accuracy has increased as well. In fact, both repeaters seem similar. I'm using Litchfield. 8. Paint It Black III is a possible solution and new meta for mid range headshot and Double Barrelled Shotgun kills. This is the only Dead Eye that remains its 100% accuracy. And it even counters Slippery III too. Slow and Steady III. Pro: Avoids one shot headshot. Kills Paint It Black III. Cons: Drains Dead Eye when shot. No 100% accuracy. Fails against Slippery III and possibly Paint It Black III if they had dual wielding / shotgun. Slippery III. Pros: Avoids auto-aim. Counters Slow and Steady III. Cons: Hard to use at further range. No 100% accuracy. Fails against Paint It Black III unless use covers. Paint It Black III. Pros: Kills outside auto aim range. Viable with dual wielding revolvers or pistols. Has 100% accuracy. Counters Slippery III. Cons: Prone to headshot. Fails against Slow and Steady III if trying headshot. I'll add more when I think of 'em. That's it for me. If you got advice on changes, feel free to post. Not saying it's better or worse for gameplay, just that the whole concept 'deadeye' now no longer makes since. wehweh01

It's just 100% accuracy removed. That's it. No more cheap 100% accuracy. It's making us take our time to aim and wait for bloom. To be honest, having 100% accuracy in Dead Eye is how people killed loads in spawns and so on. Or out in open. Well, no more of that. It's time to play properly. Yeah, I'm not questioning the reasoning behind it, just that the name 'dead eye' now now longer makes since as as the title card name. Dead eye signifies excellent shot. I'd say 'special' ability card now fits better for that category than 'dead eye' ability card. The title now no longer fits the card all i'm saying. 3 minutes ago, Ryan5252 said: They also made some much needed changes to Free Roam events. I'm still hoping a full free aim lobby offering happens, I feel a lot of these game modes become much more enjoyable if that happens. Yeah, I did Cold Dead Hands as my 2nd Free Roam Event for the Daily Challenge. I used Slippery III and Potent Snake Oil Tonics. I won so easily on Tumbleweed. Even though I never did it before. And alone. Edited February 26, 2019 by Ektope Ryan5252
Gleeman Vox
Yeah, wierd nerf when Slow and Steady drains dead eye when you’re shot now, but actually in a way it gets buffed when Eye for an Eye now works during dead eye Edited February 26, 2019 by Gleeman Vox U Carmine

The way it works now, it's gonna force these Slow and Steady III players to not stand out in open like some terminator. And actually use covers. Yeah but on the flip side, if you got shot 3 or 5 times you should be dead!! People soaking up crazy amounts of shots with S&S is why it was nerfed. I haven't had a chance to play showdowns yet but I'm hoping it will put an end to the S&S + Varmint Headshots + Spawn Killing scum out there. See how great they are when they actually have to follow a target and line up a shot lol tonko

See how great they are when they actually have to follow a target and line up a shot lol There's a work around the 100% accuracy. Apparently, " Dead Eye no longer gives perfect accuracy (except when using the card Paint It Black)" This means that Paint It Black III still has 100% accuracy. I even tried it and remember levelling my Paint It Black from Tier I to III. I could still headshot people just fine, and with auto aim. So this is a replacement. But the spawn killing. I'm not sure if I can do this again. I have noticed that players are not on the map radar when they spawn. I only see 'em when they enter or get near the middle or territories. But if players remember where they spawned from, then spawning trapping could still be possible. It looked like the spawns had gotten closer or something, when I played Heartland Oil Fields. They weren't spawning far away on the hills. Lining up shots is easy as well. A little trickier with Litchfield. But Lancaster seems like a Varmint. It headshots instantly of aiming. So I think the extended Dead Eye from Unblinking Eye 3 would come in useful pretty much at all times. Thanks.

Because of the 100% accuracy. Getting shot by NPC enemies would drain your Dead Eye bar by 20% to 30% if used Slow and Steady III. And that's not good. I would never use Slow and Steady III anymore for time being. It doesn't seem suitable for PvP or PvE. With Paint It Black III: Hold LT to lock-on, click RS / RS to active Dead Eye. Move RS / R3 upwards to aim head. Press RT / R2. It's very easy headshots, 100% accuracy without bloom. I'm able to use Litchfield easier this way, plus higher damage and magazine capacity than Lancaster. As for PIB 3, I admit I'm an auto aim scrub, I'm too old and my reactions are far too slow for almost anything involving free aim, which is why I go for the up close shotgun or lasso approach when using SB 3 during freeroam PvP. Makes me think I'd miss a lot using PIB 3, even when locking on before activating. Are any of the other Dead Eye cards worth using and upgrading? Might use the next 10.5 levels, until I unlock Express Explosive, practicing with it in story missions. U Carmine
