So maybe the fix was carcasses are working how the were supposed to originally? Doesn't it say in the guide that skinned sell for half that of unskinned? Up until now they always sold for the same price.

 

Funny though how the price changes aren't mentioned in the update list.

I'm thinking taking up Eye for an Eye since I don't think there are any other good damage boosting cards around. Making it work in Dead Eye is a good improvement.

A couple of positives.

 

Stranger missions seem to be working and the wagon delivery one I played earlier had a cut scene like the story missions. Thought that was a nice touch. It also seems now if you complete the mission quick you still get a decent payout? Unless I’m just imagining it.

 

Daily challenges making it quicker to rank up.

 

The blip system was weird at first but it was sort of nice not being hassled every 2 minutes.

Haha it's kind of funny watching the meltdowns here and on reddit. Seen this a million times in a million updates to a million games. patch day is nuclear fall out...suicide watch commences...then after a few days people start to see the reasons for some of the changes. 

 

Dripfeed is unfortunate but whatever. I'm stoked I can now call my horse near water. The nerf to plume farming sucks but I think hunting was probably way to lucrative in comparison to the rest of the game and I'm sure R* has the data to back that up...still, ya bastards haha.

hunting just sh#t the bed now . Heard about herons and spoon bill plume nerf so I shot 1 of each with small game arrows .......turned from 3 to one star and only one plume each still .......small game arrows are truly pointless now ......same as hunting in the bayou . Best hunting spot is now new austin as hawks eagles condors and vultures still yield 3 feathers for same payouts ......but perfect hawk carcass went from 3.50 to 1.69 .....plus no more oat cakes at rathskellar fork . Very disappointing

I saw 48 as well. There didn't seem to be 48 when scrolling through the names though.

The only interesting part of this update is some of the clothing and the evans repeater... and they're being dripfed. They didn't even add in new horse coats to buy, instead we have to buy new emotes for hundreds of dollars. Are they trying to incorporate a fortnite style system in this game with emotes and sh*t like that? 

 

They really do not know the audience of this game at all and the multiplayer director needs a reality check. People are more likely to buy gold if the content is actually good and worthwhile.

I just tested it with the closest 3 star animals I could find.

 

A non-skinned 3 star deer sold for $7.00

A skinned 3 star deer sold for $3.50

 

So it looks like you have to decide if you want the pelt/meat for the extra gain. That actually makes sense now, and makes me feel a bit less crappy about the changes.

I have played for a few hours since the update:

-Error 0x20010006 still happens, around every 30 minutes for me.

-Horse bonding still resets to level 1 randomly.

-Animal sell prices for hunting has been further reduced

-Varmint Rifle nerf, but they actually increased the damage it does to body parts. Please explain that one, SMH.

-Still no free aim lobby, or way to play showdown modes with other free aimers.

-Still no creator, or editor. Still only 1 TDM map. Still no ability to join the game mode you actually want to play.

-Many new clothes, only 10% of which are unlocked. The rest, "coming soon"

 

Coming soon when? When I have moved on to 10 other online games by then, or when I am actually dead and in my grave?

 

Yeah, I'm done with this. It was somewhat fun to level 50, but this is a joke, and they are playing us for idiots. Drip-Feeding in a BETA is the final straw. I will carry on completing the single player (which was excellent) to 100% and then I am done. I am an adult, and can see when a game developer is, excuse my French, TAKING THE PISS. This is not the actions of a AAA developer, this is the actions of a group of suits who care nothing for their own game and are quite happy to watch it die with no communication whatsoever with their playerbase, just make as much money as possible no matter what. The lack of understanding about what is wrong with the game is breathtaking, and to have the nerve to drip feed these simple little items that are very easy to create, then charge for them like this is a massive game on par with GTA Online... 13 gold for an EMOTE. WHAT ? 500 dollars for an outfit where you can't change individual parts...

 

This is actually upsetting, when you think of how great the single player experience was, then compare it to this steaming pile of horse dung. I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to see the update, here it is, and now we are waiting weeks or months for a new gun. A pair of trousers.

 

This company is finished when it comes to online games, and they need a massive wake up call. It is simply not acceptable. DO NOT buy gold and support this embarassment any further. Their wallets are all they care about, they couldn't give a s**t about any of us, or making a respected online environment. They treat deep gaping wounds with sticking plasters and think we will not notice. They are wrong.

Looks like more people but distributed all over the map now because it feels like playing offline. Can't even find friends on the map. Player missions aren't visible on the map either unless they are very close. R* took a great game and turned it into a snoozefest. There are some new games on the horizon like 'Outlaws of the Old West' that will hopefully bring the truly interactive free roam experience that RDO once was. In the meantime back to GTA.

Yeah it does make sense, I never understood how a butcher could pay $3.50 for a perfect Heron and the same for another Heron that I've ripped the guts and meat out of. No logic for cutting the feather yield by 2/3s though.

 

I'm surprised they haven't introduced decomposing carcasses like we had in Story Mode. That was a royal PIA, no de-tours on way to butcher it had to be traded in asap. 

 

Or maybe they have and we haven't discovered it yet?

4 stupid PvP tasks, f*ck off! That train one is just daft IMO. What, just ride around in hope, lol. Plus I don't want to change my bloody hairstyle. So stupid.

 

Selected Ambarino to join a lobby, spawned in Rhodes directly next to the station, lol. Seems like it's just story mode bounty as I accidentally bumped into an NPC rider and got a 2 or 5 cent bounty (it said 5c on screen but got charged 2c at the toll), was wanted for it and pretty instantly got a group of NPC's spawn right on top of me so took the death, upon respawn my outfit had changed back to that sh*tty default one (I like the black UE outfit I have to put on every time I load up as it is, lol). Killed by a passing player and again my outfit reset. (Not bothered by the kill as much as that outfit crap mind you, though still tedious).

 

Easy pass, I don't think I'll return at all. But had to look see. Waste of 20 minutes. It really is just a joke of a game for me. There's just f*ck all for my style.

I would dude but I logged off long ago and am enjoying a movie with the Mrs, sorry.

 

(Plus I've so little desire to return at least until the next DLC for another look in hope in a few months. Game left a bad taste and I don't wanna get pissed at a videogame, lol). Sorry dude.

Thanks, you answered a lot of my questions. Still haven't played RDR Online yet. Still not finished SP. I want to like Online but Rockstar are just atrocious at making online games, it's hard to even attempt to try like it. The freemium model is probably the most stupidest anti-consumer business model I've come to know.

I haven't even created my online character yet and I'm already dissapointed. A part of me wanted R* to steer away from the GTAO approach to online gaming, but it seems like R* isn't pulling the strings now. I freakin hate those T2 corporate snakes, the greed is killing everything R* has built the past 20 years. Guess I'll stick to SP and GTA IV to remember the good times.

After this update it seems it's even harder to get THE ONLY  Team Shootout available, not sure though. But so far tonight most of the times i got maps and modes i dislike the most: anything in Tall Trees, Most Wanted in St. Denis, anything in Lanik Electrical (large showdowns)

 

If you're reffering to the first RDR, i must disappoint you, PVP modes are nothing like the first one. We can't even choose which mode we want. They throw you into this sickening, boring modes and you must suffer through it.

 

Still waiting to see what they meant by "Bag Games". Let's hope they copy-paste Bag Games from RDR 1. That mode was epitome of fun.

 

Edit: I'm 99% sure they changed the lineup in showdown. Team shootout in St. Denis is super rare. I repeat: the only Team vs Team mode available.

I'll keep sending feedbacks about adding PVP modes without ability cards. If we get Creator in 2023, that would be a great addition for us who don't enjoy special perks and magic stuff.
