Not to be a cry baby, but it is absolutely ridiculous that defending myself from a player camped out at the fast travel post who throws dynamite at me results in me being punished. I learned real quick there is no longer a point in PVP in free roam(and I'm more of a PVE player who occasionally does PVP) I started running up to the people to let them kill me so I could instantly parley rather than defend and get a bounty that will never go away unless I pay. I won't trade the game in because I hope they fix the game. But if and until then, RIP to both of my characters ranked 90 and 31. The only two members of my crew that still played this game have decided the same and they have put some considerable time too. We really liked and gave this game a chance when all of our other friends and crew left due to lack of content. But this is it for us for now and possibly forever. This game, in our eyes, took a turn for the worse on Feb 26th. We can live with the majority of the changes, even though we don't necessarily like them, but the bounty system was the icing on the cake. Someone just tried to kill me with a bow. Thanks Rockstar for your lovely daily kill challenges. I got disconnected earlier, and it didn't save my progress on eating meats, drats. EDIT: I'm in the Bayou now, and something strange is going on with the animals. I am seeing bird carcasses from yesterday, like story mode is bleeding through. No Herons anywhere on usual spots, very few other animals too. In other spots, like Strawberry Eagle, I did not see yesterday's carcass, but here at the swamps I do. Herons used to be everywhere, not after this update. I am also seeing other player's carcasses, like just now a rotten Sandhill crane which I know I haven't shot. Yep, happens me too. I'm also seeing other player's kills from ages ago but somehow the game can't remember when I killed 4 flying birds 30 seconds ago so de-spawns two of them. Although these should have been in day 1, and I understand that criticism, it honestly makes the game much more fun. They should pay a little more, like 2 gold bars per day, but so far, I have found them to keep me interested. I know I am really going against the tide on this one. Even amongst all the crap, they really do make free mode much more enjoyable. I am sure after I have done them for month, I will be tired of them, but right now...they are cool. Doing it in Showdowns where they're expecting to be killed and are on guard is the actual challenge. Have you witnessed these abandoned stagecoaches or carts with a dead driver still "sitting" in the seat outside of towns too ? Nerfing payouts is akin to increasing the grind. Reducing player visibility ensures that the dedicated trolls griefer that used to antagonize you out in the wilderness will now be concentrated in cities making it more difficult to sell your hard-earned, devalued hunting spoils. As for the dripfeed, they playerbase is dwindling in the face of the game's stagnation.R* wants to make sure players come back regularly. I haven't played GTA in a while, but I will pop in to check out the new stuff before playing a different game that hasn't been reduced to a troll/griefer super mega ultra orgy. I don't understand this at all; it's not like R* doesn't know how to make absolutely fantastic games. But when it comes to online, it's like they have no idea how gaming works. I tell myself that it's actually TakeTwo's fault,and that they're forcing R*, purveyors of some of the finest games in the industry, to meet ridiculous profit margins. Fresh kill disappears, ancient ones stay. Swamps will soon be just a giant field of carcass icons on minimap. It's only bird carcasses I see btw, not other animals. Hunting has been nerfed, sure, but you couldnt make any gold just hunting and now you can. And it gives a reason to actually play other modes, I mean yeah they are fast for ranking, but once you hit 84 and shotgun explosives...I am not gonna play dms, after explosive ammon definitly had no reason to rank up....the adv modes just get me too stressed.
