Lol, same; my goal was/is to have every variety, both seasoned and unseasoned, fully stocked at all times. This started long before the daily challenges though; I'm the same way about ammo as well - it drives me crazy if I'm not fully stocked on everything before I start a session. 😜

We are "griefer siege" ready, lol It'll be a long bout before I start running low on anything

Nope. At least the 3 most common versus only require 2 people, the other posse ones you need at least 3, which is BS.

@Clancy the Bandito Teach me how to be good at Make it Count: Ancient Tomahawk

Use Slippery bastard. When you're near someone, activate it. Get them to waste their throw, and when they do is when you want to strike.

>tackle them

or you could try and knife fight them

when someone is locked onto you and they're getting ready to throw, dodge immediately, stand back up, then throw yours.

Hmm, I think I'm gonna go with PIB.

I'd stay the safe route and go with SB. People are god awful at free-aiming so they're more than likely going to panic

But I can paint them from outside lock on range.

This is only from memory back when we had "kills from cover". Sometimes for the kills to count you have to be in the Showdown from the very beginning. So if you join mid-match, try sticking around for the next one. If that doesn't work, no clue...

I encountered some weird bug where my kills with throwables didn't register. Restarted the game and i got it.  Beta beta beta beta....

I decided to play a bit longer than only doing 1 daily. Why not get 5 easy peasy Bluegill and a pelican in the same area for the meat cooking? After picking Indian Tobacco for 3 minutes tops, I moved towards Braithwaite Manor for the pelican and Bluegill. Took me half a game day to get a pelican to spawn and the easy peasy fish stayed away. Normally 7 out of 10 catches are bluegills. I needed 40+ catches today to get 5 of them. No other fishing players in a mile wide. Play a bit longer resulted in an extra hour and a half. And damn those animations. Can’t my character not just apply bait when he hasn’t finished the whole take fish off/get back in position thing? Why does the character have to go through all the clunky animations first, before being able to execute the next activity? Total bollocks!

Treated myself to the poison knife pamphlet, definitely made the challenge easier and it's much better than the hatchet.  Quicker to throw and therefore harder to avoid.  Took longer to find the oleander than do the challenge.

Don't forget to use your Tracking sense when you fish, to see where the Bluegill are and throw your line in their direction. Makes it much easier to fish for specific fish(Fish only show up highlighted when you have your Fishing Rod out)

Never needed that at this location. I go there fairly often to fish and mostly get Bluegill. Last time the challenge was there, it took me 6 or 7 casts to get all 5. This time around...., couldn't even store Bass of Pickerel anymore, because I got too many in the bag. That wasn't the worst, really. I'm starting to get fairly annoyed by all the animations that need to play all the way to the end, before you can execute a new action. Why does my character have to pick off the fish, put it in his invisible satchel, move his right arm back into a fixed position again, before I can apply the bait again, which moves his right arm straight back to where it was when he picked off the fish...... He can't even walk a few steps during the ordeal. Any normal person can walk a few steps while lifting up a fishing pole, while applying bait. Or the animations when skinning....., character steps up to the game, needs a fixed position before starting the skinning (like X marks the spot). Useless, I'd say. Yeah yeah, I know, realism stuff and all, but I think we've seen it by now. Could have done these dailies in less than half the time without those cutscenes....

Psn network is down here. The counters for the challenges reset on a crash. In the past I changed sessions to save the progress. Connection issues are becoming more worse with every update.

It's not really Rockstars fault that PSN is down =P

What console are you on?

I usually only play at night, but I'll be on for a few hours this afternoon. I can get the races done for you if you're on PS4. Feel free to add me: Steelray25 (just include a message saying "forum" or something so I know who you are. I don't normally take blind friend requests)

I happened to find a ridiculously reliable way of spawning and finding cougars... and of course skinning them for the daily challenge... and skinning even more of them for money.

I don't know if I got crazy lucky but I used this little tactic to hunt like 10 or something cougars (lost count) over the span of an hour or so

Cougar hunting top tip:

Xmxgu74.png

The two red markers are cougar spawns, but especially the top red marker (The one right next to the 'N'). I only saw one cougar spawn at the very bottom red marker.
I developed a little strategy where I would ride my horse from the Blackwater butcher to red waypoint. From the red waypoint I would start riding south to the top red marker where the cougar spawn is. Most of the time, I saw a cougar right on that red marker lying down. If I didn't see a cougar I would ride down to the second bottom red marker to try my chance with the second cougar spawn. Usually I wouldn't see a cougar there, so I'd again ride back up to the first red marker cougar spawn and I'd see the cougar spawn there if I didn't see the cougar spawn there the first time.

After skinning the cougar, I'd ride back to the butcher to sell my catch and repeat the process.

Can't tell if the cougars prefer a certain time of day for spawning. At first I felt as if they spawned more regularly in the night... but once I got my little tactic down to a science :P it really seemed as if I could get a cougar to spawn on those red markers at any time of day.

Bonus tips: Watch out flock of pelicans flying around (or check the little island right nect to Quakers Cove for pelicans resting), shoot them down and pluck their feathers for even more money. Also listen out for hawks, once you hear a hawk just look around (usually they're right on top of you and you might need to use first person camera to look all the way up), shoot it down and pluck it feathers. Pelicans and hawks are a pretty good supplement income when you're hunting for cougars.

Hope people here can get lucky as me with their cougar spawns :P

I SWEAR...they throw in that POSSE sh*t just to mess with the many (happy) lone-wolves

why force this sh*t on us? can't we get the same opportunity, to earn just the same?!

OT: cougars: ride into bear claw and hop on the roof. it spawns right away, along with a grizzlie. from that roof you can snatch both the bear and cougar pretty easily: OR, go to sean when he's at quaker's cove...always a cougar sitting there in the grass. you can approach and kill before it moves a muscle...there's even a stone (near the windmill) you can use as a safety space..in case you miss and make that cougar come after you!

edit: basically what the dude above said

You could say that about any of the dailies. The whole idea of the dailies is to get people doing a whole mix of different things instead of just repeating one set of things. It's to get players mixing more and in different ways. I get bored of the plant picking challenges because looking for stuff is no fun at all for me. I'm ok with the posse ones just as long as I can start them. Everyone enjoys different things.

Yeah, I'm usually a loner and the majority of dailies are totally solo friendly. No reason posse players shouldn't have some stuf that rewards them.

Like I said before, I love how R* doesn't consider 2 people a posse for some of the challenges.

Another good Cougar spawn outside of Blackwater;

Spoiler
