I pick yarrow and burdok root all of the time, but can never remember where.   I just did "kill them each and every one" for the grapple enemies.

Although it's fairly common to find, here are two locations close to each other for six Yarrow in total:

I've just got 5 Burdock Root from these two spots.

 

Yarrow, Burdock Root and Skunks can be completed around Valentine.

 

Easy 5/7 day for me today.

If the Dakota River gets busy, try here:

 

 

It's usually quiet. Climb onto the largish rock to catch Salmon, there's usually 3 Burdock Root near said rock. 

 

If you're really lucky the Bacchus Station hideout will trigger for the grapple enemies to the ground challenge - @Rokushakubo, don't know how I missed that one, I guess I'm still in the habit of seeing the word "enemies" and skipping over it. Got it done at the above hideout just now.

What bait did you guys use? Not high enough rank for River Lure and I'm pretty sure the salmon prefer River Lures.

 

On an interesting note:

In the snowy grizzlies in Ambarino, you can see the sockeye salmon swimming upstream in the Spider Gorge river (Pretty amazing detail! Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmon_run)
Some of them even swim just far away from the river edge where you're able to pick them up, unfortunately I tried this and no it doesn't count as a catch
Although I'm beginning to wonder if this is an easy way of making money, it does seem like you can pick up a lot of them quite quickly without having to go through the trouble of fishing. A salmon sells for $2.5 IIRC.

 

edit: when I think about it, I'm actually surprised Rockstar didn't program in bears trying to catch salmon if they actually went with the effort to represent the salmon run in the game.

It's not on rotation; you can start it at any time, but there are times when it's greyed out for some odd reason. If that happens, switch lobbies or close and reload the game.

I used the Special River Lure. I'm not sure when it unlocks; however, if I recall, you can (or could) buy them with gold from the bait shop in the Bayou before officially unlocking them for purchase. I know this is how I obtained one of my lures back in the day, but I'm not sure if they've changed that. Also, I do believe a worm will also attract salmon, but you may pick up various other fish as well unless you can find an area full of salmon. I recommend using eagle eye once you have the rod equipped to have a look at what's swimming around before casting your line.

Burdock Root I was expecting, but Yarrow? Curious to see if Chanterelles will be next. As long as I don't see that fkn Rooster challenge for awhile, they can do herbs in whatever order they want.

Yarrow is easy. All around Valentine and Rhodes and the plains in between. 

 

Burdock root all along the Dakota River estuary. 

 

Tackle enemies : agitate some workers near the oil field by pointing a gun at them, without shooting. You should be able to tackle them before the gunmen arrive.

 To "encourage" you to play with people. Annoying for those who kind of play this to not HAVE to deal with team dynamics. When I want that I join showdown or Story missions. Also, most of my gaming friends were on PSN when I was on PS3, but my wife & I upgraded to XB1, & she's not interested in RDO.

I almost always find one right outside the bridge that leads into Tumbleweed.

At night/evening ofcourse.

During the day you might find a vulture sitting on top of that bridge.

Nice when multiple dailies feed into each other. 3 Sockeyes = 3 succulent fish meats, and Burdock is easy to find growing along pretty much any riverbank where you'll find the salmon.

I've found them mostly everywhere. From what I've heard/read, they aren't so common in parts of Grizzlies West and Cholla Springs; but try somewhere like Cumberland Forest during late evening/night and use eagle eye. I found both of mine in this area earlier; they're pretty common though.
