So much for 28 days of all 7 challenges.

This was mentioned before, I never saw one, even after switching lobbies like 5 times.

Emerald Ranch at night or early morning is usually best location.

 

But there are 2 other locations near Rhodes you could try, south of Braithwaite manor, in the workers village, and the little farm/housing community next to the fence.

Sometimes the rooster at Mama Watsons isn't in the chicken coup, but running around in the open.  I always go there for the challenge and it hasn't let me down yet.

Found my pair at Emerald Ranch, took 5 mins they did shot it rode up to railway station topped up ammo went back got the second

Legit, players killing in every session! Some asshole came into the chicken coop behind me to start a fight.  Not enough time to get my gun or knife out, so I had to beat him down with hand to hand combat. Close battle.

 

 

5 of 7 done. Just need 1 rooster and 1 pelican. Almost done.

Showdowns don't work for me normally, endless loading screens everytime. But I was very lucky today, worked on my 2nd try.

I had just finished Operation Skin A Cock, and had plucked a second Rooster at Emerald Ranch. As I was hopping the fence and getting back on my horse, two players on the same horse rode up. They followed me as I was in defensive mode, probably trying to auto aim and/or free aim me. I saw one of them activate deadeye in the mini map, then they stopped and allowed me to ride away.

Yep. That's a confirmed bitch move being used in GTA Online, and may or may not be an intentional glitch in Red Dead Online.

I did some testing today. Every time I fast travelled to Emerald Ranch at night all the farm animals spawned in, including the rooster.

 

I forgot that I always disconnect in Emerald Ranch after I get my first Rooster so it happened again today, but got it to spawn the second time too. Then went to Rhodes for the second one. On my way over I spawned the rescue in Pleasance, and rode past that little housing community near Rhodes fence so stopped and there were actually 2 roosters that spawned. Maybe one for me and one for the stranger I was escorting? lol

 

It had naturally not saved that I got the first rooster, nor my location when I disconnected (had to fast travel from Armadillo again, I want my 8 dollars back please), but when I disconnected the second time after having 1 pelican, I spawned in and it had saved both my location and the 1 pelican. Weird stuffs.

neither have I. it's just one of the rumours I heard, that they spawned at both ranches.

in all the time I have been around macfrlanes ranch searching, my experiences match yours.

Lucked into a pair at the Rhodes servants village on my second or third trip into town that day.  Got accused on animal cruelty for my efforts but I got the little buggers.

Turn on defensive mode and you find out quick they're all Autoaim trash. Easy pickings for Freeaimers.

I looked, but couldn't find roosters anywhere else aside from Emerald Ranch. The first time I went there, I found one right away; then I decided to switch lobbies and try again - it took four additional lobby changes because there were at least two other people around in every one that I landed in; obviously looking for the rooster or killing each other - probably over who got there first. Fortunately I landed in a mostly empty lobby when I found the second; thankfully, there wasn't anyone near Emerald at all. Afterwards, I went to find pelicans and got very lucky; I spawned into a new lobby at Copperhead Landing and found both within about 10 ten minutes! This game definitely needs more roosters though!

The spawns are random at Emerald Ranch and Mama Watson's. Sometimes there's none or just one at all times of the day.

Spawns are random everywhere. There isn't one place you can go where you're guaranteed to see a rooster or even chickens. The only two places that are 100% are Lagras and Rathskellers, unfortunately neither has roosters.

I got my roosters from both locations I mentioned. I even helped my wife out by staking out both locations until I got her 2 roosters. The things I do for this marriage
