Got exactly this,near Gus location at Flatneck Station where 2 Cougars tried to kill 1 lady. But of course after i got myself cougars around Sean Mcguire location in Blackwater.

I concentrate in Role dailies. These are mostly 9/9. Standard dailies are a Welcome Bonus, but I skip many of These Standard dailies which contains PvP and search for a specific Bird etc...

Im just doing the dailies to keep my streak going and so few as possible to not gain to much xp....

I have been in a grinding phase, around 45 days....and I have reached my goal of 600 gold.

 

Now I will lower my efforts the next days, because it begins to feel like work.

and thats a sign for me to take the brake and get back to a phase of fun & enjoying....

Skipped both "place top 3", got the rest of the general and the 9 role.

Cormorant was in a flock of them, south of Rhodes/Braithwaite near shore (last one I did.)

 

Wish General was like role, with a BUNCH to choose from (with only having to do part of them)

I got that one for the list the other day Was looking for the two bison to skin, west of Blackwater, had that cougar thing happen then. Good timing!

Easiest way to do the shoot the hat off daily is to antagonize an NPC on the road.  Make sure he shoots first so that he registers as an enemy.  Then hogtie him and use your varmint rifle to shoot the brim of his hat.

^^ Beat me to it. Lawmen especially are fun to do this way--e.g. kidnap one from Blackwater (escape the ensuing posse to a nice, quiet, off-road location north of town) and voila.

 

Lather, rinse, repeat for the others.

 

But if you're like me, you can also use Murphy's Law: try for headshots only, and you'll shoot off hats left and right.

Good tip, indeed. I´ll use it next time.

 

I tend to do it in Thieves Landing, cause the Del Lobos wear Mexican hats, which are bigger thus easier to hit, you know, but it's still tricky to hit hats in a gunfight...

When doing resupply with 5 minutes left it always gives me the damned hunting mission first time.

We shall see what happens today.

With animal spawns being fine and small lobbies, that mission is far from being a problem. And is nice to get 20 raw materials instead of 5

I nailed one cougar near Tall Trees, along with a Black Bear, and a Grizzly; then got mauled by a panther north of Lagras (got him after I spawned in again).

 

Then no luck until later in the evening (IRL) when I logged in again; found the Bison outside of Blackwater, and a bit later (during a Thieves Landing stranger "jailbreak" mission) the second cougar spawned nearby.

 

7/7 last night; nice for a change!

It has been a lot easier lately, but has also glitched a few times in the past.

 

Today I got a bag mission at Emerald Ranch.

oh jeez luis...got me that condor egg. now I'm at 6/7 but I don't know if I even want to TRY the last one....because it's "top3 in takeover"....meeeeeeh

edit: well I might just sit there afk on top of bradywine drop, get the "no animal kill in 24h" challenge and thus 9/9 done and call it a day. everything else would just be....too challenging right now.

The events generally favour the randoms on any given day, I am not sure if that is deliberate or not, but they do. Daily wise I mean.

I just see it's actually braNdywine drop...I think I made that mistake twice by now...maybe my memory will SAVE this correctly from here on in!

 

ok that worked well. after 9/9 were checked I quick joined a takeover showdown to see if I get lucky...showdown starting it said, wasn't sure if it'd count at all since I spent zero lobby time if you will. it's overrun and like a boss I placed 1st, sh*t counted. surprising 7/7 at the end of the day

The stupid no animal kills reset on me so many times, damned rabbits running out in front of me everywhere.

Said to hell with it, killed some gators and substituted forest/river samples instead.

I always have their hat come off, when I hogtie them =/  

 

I just did the hats one on a revenuer moonshiner roadblock, had plenty of time on the last bunch of them to "aim high" and hit 3 hats ;)

I was taking it SO SLOW, getting credit for that. It was harder since I was taking shortcuts in the desert. I just kept using "eagle eye" to track, moving slowly to the next "no kill" thing I was doing.

I got lucky and stumbled into a revenuer blockade, as well as two hideouts (one after the other.) 

FINALLY I got the naturalist "24 hours without killing" .5 gold; then, nearly immediately, I moved the horse and stepped on a rabbit and Lol'd! ;)

Yeah, my problem was my camp was too far away. I kept moving it, until it was near the Hennington's Stead Moonshine shack near the shore, so it was far away from the "hunt a deer/turtle for the trapper.."(which is usually by those "finger stream" things east of McFarlane's. ) So what I did was get down to two minutes, just hung out in camp without turning in, then got another resupply that worked with five minutes left. Otherwise, yeah I normally have plenty of time on the trapper ones (when my camp is usually near McFarlane's, in Hennington Stead area. )

Takeover series count as long as you are in the lobby from the start, if you are unlucky enough to have no wait time likely wont count whether you win or not. Takeover series are easy to place first anyway people get bored soon enough, same with horse raceseries just a waiting game and an Arabian helps. I don't care what anyone says the 40 gold Arabian is the best all round horse especially with a speed saddlelike the nagodoches with hooded stirrups (fotrotter is a waste of money $900) and it is all round no where near the Arabian, even the white one so you lose virtually no stamina from the horse, it's the hidden effect that just keeps giving. People might say blah blah stamina drain is not important but they are just flat wrong. Early on thee role sadddles are adequate but get a nogadoches saddle later on and thank me later, as you rarely have to feed your horse.

 

I hate that long distance mission on trader where even if you get there the mobs just instakill you and everyone else dies before you can do anything, it's not exactly bugged but it aint cricket either.

 

Another easy set of dalies the only annoying one is cormorants they spawn but not as frequently as other birds even in the Bayou. So it can be a bit of a grind.

 

First free roam event I was in I won because I am mighty, well and the 180 rank helps too. Pain in the arse trying to win with a level 20 on PC, just don't have the ability load outs to make a serious dent in anyone elses heads. TANKING WITH ABILITY CARDS RANK I IS A PAIN IN THE ANUS/.

 

Slippery (with free aim so you can hit others but they can't autoaim on you ) and paint it black (Level 3 means people cant use it on you) they are stupidly OP though, unfortunately they nerfed the hat one as that was super tank mode. If everyone has either paint it black or slippery bastard though then it#s a crap shoot anyway. Cheese it.

 

And yes I am well aware autoaim is a sphincter on PC (you need to change your settings to make them quicker and more you friendly), but with the right pad you can do it just as well as PS4/Xbox

Got that mission long time ago and i had to hunt alligators. Easy right? wrong. Who the hell gonna ride back and forth from Great Plains to Lemoyne just to get croc skin? f*ck that sh*t.

Actually at least on the PS4 there are virtually no hackers, it would of course be naive to think hacks don't exist on any format PC or not, I mean I've seen someone take six shotgun blasts at point blank range and then get shot six more times, and take 0 damage, even slippery bastard doesn't make you immune, the guy never died during the free roam event he simply couldm't and suspiciously a load of my money awent missing whenever the c*nt was around.

 

So anyway basically play on the PS4 or Xbox if you don't want hacker scum ruining your experience. Because let's face it the parasites arre lower than whale sh*t but ubiquitous, vis a vis winning free roam events. Can't win when those arseholes are on they can't die. If they are not gold mining for some syndicae in a back room somewhere they are making free roam unplayable for the rest of us and a joke.

 

Report and forget them and hope their new account isn't the same hacked up piece of sh*t.

 

Oh yeah I saw someone get boted/booted yesterday from a fishing challenge, they didn't actually use a rod or dynamite to catch fish; I watched them doing it it was hilarious. Banned permanently lets hope, although will be back with another alias and the samee hacks probably. LMAO. You know when there are 6 of one player there's something fishy going on if you'll pardon the pun , that was on PS4 as well. Why would you hack fishing? Lol the pittance of gold is not worth it?

 

The bread makers gold wise have got to be the new photo challenge, and or just botting missions? Bizarre? You can make hundreds in gold just repeating missions, and then presumably they use it to exploit for real world cash somehow by selling it to players.... used to only happen on MMORPGs but happens all over the place now in multiplayer on any sort of game, even 1st person shooters. Still they must make money from it or they wouldn't bother...

Probably not, since you can only hack on the PC (maybe just taking advantage of a glitch, if on console?); My guess is he used a health tonic and had a defensive ability set up, like incredibly reduced damage in red eye the more you get shot (or whatever that one is.) 

Some of those were/are really overpowered, I recall, if you only OPT for maximum PVP tankiness.

 

I've never heard of 6 of one player, for something like fishing? That is a crazy glitch/whatever. Unless there is some specific way to "hack" the PS4, more than the Xbox one, I've never heard of such a thing on the Xbox One.

That is, in fact, the main reason I play stuff like this or No Man's Sky on the Xbox One. You are right, though, I'd not find winning a fishing competition worth it, for a possible ban..  

 

"No Man's Sky" added "crossplay", with a great work around being to go to your Xbox settings/privacy/select to not connect to other game services (so only connected to Xbox Live players)

The added bonus is that turning that on, while still leaving on multiplayer, puts you in an INSANELY reduced pool of multiplayer players; they'd have to ALSO only have connect to xbox live players

on (which many people don't bother to do, in privacy settings.) So not only are you protected against "PC Hackers", but you are only with very few Xbox players and probably the type who don't grief.

 

All of my ability cards are only set up for NPC offensive/defensive, so I have the stuff like me doing more damage from a horse and taking way less damage when in cover (the last one helps a LOT, fighting revenuer roadblocks behind a rock/tree.) 

That makes me much more vulnerable for PVP, but I never really do PVP. That less damage when in cover, for example, would really only help you if you were in a PVP showdown/whatever where there are lots of other players; alone,  when I've done it

the griefer just rides up to me behind the tree/whatever and shoots me...  (that is when lots of other people were still in the session.)

 

Hmmm, I just read that "Paint it black", which I also have, DOES work in PVP (unless in hardcore.) I can't believe I did not know that! Well, next time I'm being "griefed", if ever...

I should have posted this yesterday but for the hats shot off, sedative rounds work a treat for that daily now. Since before Naturalist, trying to shot a hat off would just result in a headshot when it’s a daily, but every other day I’m shooting hats off left and right!

Yeah you can pop that Daily for joining and leaving a free roam event if it doesn’t pop up normally. I haven’t sold Moonshine in a while, so it’s just a free daily for me each time it shows up as a daily! 
 

It usually also pops up after doing a Legendary Animal sighting mission and anything else that takes you out of a lobby and into a game mode, so story missions, legendary bounty missions etc.
