List of Daily Challenges

Glad I moved my camp to Lemoyne/Lagras for gators and junk last night ;) (herons, vanilla flower.)

I love how with fewer players, moving camp is nearly instant (at least when I play.) Then back to Hennington's Stead.

Oooh, never found fossils yet. I think I got a fossils map, when buying maps to use for "3 maps", then used

another one so still have the fossil map.

(Did that one, the fossils seem to always be along a shore? Handy.)

Naturalist desert/5 in 10 minutes/2 revived, I always hit all at once

south of the Hennington Stead moonshine shack, by the shore, where those

couple of desert iguana islands are. I get on my horse and herd them back to shore

so they don't get sedated in the water. They are way easier to sedate than an American

pronghorn, or most other desert animals. Since they fixed spawns, they are all over the place

there. (yep, took something like two minutes ;)  )

Any day for which the challenges do not require me to visit Harriet is a good challenge day..

Just curious as to what others think about buying pamphlets to craft items for challenge reasons - worth it or not?

I.e. buying a blending pamphlet to craft when required for dailies, versus buying individual bottles to use.

If the items were more reasonably priced it would be a no brainer I think.

I have little interest in the pamphlets otherwise, except maybe the sedative ammo so that I can avoid visiting Harriet at all.

Money is not an issue as I'm fairly high ranked and haven't spent much on cosmetics, etc..

just trying to make an informed decision.

Cheers!

I think in the case of Harriet's tonics, the ingredient cost is often quite high, IE: hard or time consuming to get, panther samples for instance.

I will gladly trade cash for gold, but time spent tracking down ingredients can be a deal breaker.

Sedative ammo pamphlet I would recommend, all you really need are prairie poppies, you will loot some valerian root, but don't ever buy it.

Poppies can be easily found in the area west and south of Blackwater, so when you know Harriet is gonna spray you, you can just craft the rounds instead.

You can also buy the poppies from Madam at $1 per, again I have no problem trading cash for gold, picking poppies takes time.

The pass gave vouchers for pamphlet discounts, I think that's how I bought the blending pamphlet, but I don't remember for sure, but it was kind of a waste of money.

You don't see a panther very often to get it's sample, and they're tough customers even then.

FINALLY managed to log in after 6 1/2 hours of the launcher crashing with no fix from R* in sight...and was disconnected before I actually loaded in.

Did 1 quick daily, fixed my graphics settings YET AGAIN!!!!! and logged off.

For anyone using Win7 or 8 ... start the launcher as an ADMINISTRATOR then type this into your 'launch arguments' area in the settings page:  -sgadriver=Vulkan
I use an AMD card, I HAVE to use Vulkan, I have no idea what retard at R* thought it would be great to program a change to this.

For this one, elimination series for me. Let them kill each other while i just kept moving slowly to avoid detection. When it was 3 players left,i tried to win it as well but in case i failed,im good. Got my daily at least.

Sedative Ammo - Worth it for backup ammo for when I run low and need more right away. I tried avoiding Mad Hattie and crafting my own but collecting poppies is a waste of time; just crafting in front of Madam Nazar takes way too much time, and I run out of .22 rounds and need to restock. It sort of works when Nazar is in the Heartlands and the post office is right down the road, but even then, it's far quicker and cheaper to get sprayed and wait than going through the hassle of crafting my own. The tricky part is avoiding the urge to hunt as I wait.

Blending Tonic - Worth it, but annoying because Panther is the default ingredient. Grizzlies and Black Bear are abundant enough.

Legendary Animal Pheromones - Worth it, sort of. Wolves, skunks and rabbits are abundant and the pheromones are expensive. I'll skip the challenge if I can, but rather than fuss with glitches or bounty challenges it's easy enough to score these with LA Sightings and pick up another LA sample while I'm at it. Gotta talk to Mad Hattie though, but she'll have another animal ready to go when I'm done. FREs work well too; I quaff the tonic and quit to avoid the idiots with lassos or to resume what I'm doing.

Animal Reviver - Not a high priority since I tend to restock everything regularly with the ammo, but I'm drawn to Rathskeller Fork enough to collect the 3 horse revivers - makes me feel efficient.

Older Pamphlets:

Horse Meal - My favorite for Crafting a horse care item - no camp required. I tend not to use it much or my horse gets too skinny.

Tracking Arrows - Essential for bounty challenges

Explosive ammo types - If I need FRE or Showdown kills I want to get out as quickly as possible. I seldom bother with the challenge but like these anyway.

Toxic Moonshine - Needed for Moonshine challenges.

I've been thinking about creating a Discord Server for Daily Challenges if any one maybe interested, for Daily Challenges chat / help / off topic etc, but I don't want people to use that instead of coming to this thread though so I am not quite sure on it to be honest, but just something I have been thinking about etc.

Unless there is a GTA Forums RDO Discord already that could be used or whatever, but just trying think of things that can hopefully drive traffic here too.

My rule of thumb when deciding how to approach some dailies is : $25 equals 1 gold. It's the conversion rate you get when comparing prices for items that can be bought for $ or gold.
So if I have to spend $12,50 to get a 0.5 gold daily, it's worth it. Factoring in the 1.5 gold bonus for 7/7 dailies, the number increases to $17,85.

I do this because $ are a lot easier to come by than gold.

So you can ask yourself: how much does the pamphlet cost, how difficult is it to get the ingredients, how often does the individual pop up, and how many times you have to craft a tonic before you "get your money back".

I did that math, in the case of Small Game arrows I knew the sooner I bought it, the sooner I'd start making a return on investment. I've earned the money back I'd spent on it a while ago.

But in the end I keep it much more simple. I buy all pamphlets. I'm sitting on a pile of cash, like crafting, love doing dailies - especially the easy ones I can do right when spawning into my camp. I like being as independent as possible, love not having to visit Harriet if I don't feel like it right then and there. I keep an eye out for ingredients I need, I pick up stuff here and there on a consistent basis so I don't have to mass-farm anything.

Having done this, or just shoot out their horse with a rifle first, then drag them for a spell to damage them. then hit them while they're standing up.

I gave up after 3.

Every single one after that managed to side step the horse on every approach.

I even shot them in the leg with a varmint rifle and hit them as they were gaining their feet again, which only gave them a slight 'bump'.

When the game starts cheating to make things artificially more difficult, I'm out.

They've obviously changed the AI programming to be able to avoid trampling attacks now.

the trick is to release the lasso right after they start to get dragged off their horse / carriage. I don't drag them at all, just give them a quick pull.
Often I catch them with my horse when they're still on the ground or just got up.
Don't gallop at them full speed, easier to control the horse and aim.
Best done in wide open areas like the Grat Plains.

Lucky!

I was getting quite angry about them sliding around my horse every pass.

I tried at least 5 or 6 and none of them would get trampled no matter what I did.

The turtle thing when it was 'animals trampled' was extremely annoying as well, the horse kicked one of them probably 20 feet 4 or 5 times and it wouldn't die.

I'm going to hogtie a couple NPCs and be done with it shortly.

if there's a shallow body of water nearby with fish bubbles, I gallop through a few times.
Trampling fish counts for the daily

Yeah, even when I did not react fast I had no trouble (after pulling them off the horse with a lasso.) This was because they just stood there, shooting

while my horse just plowed into them/trampled.

Yeah, I'll not get 7/7 because I refuse to do any player kills dailies, I'm not giving R* any encouragement when it comes to PvP, but it's a very easy 9/9 day for role challenges.

I see your point about not wanting to add your +1

If it's a player killed with [weapon] in free roam events, I load up explosive express, join up right after the invite, get the kills, exit to free roam before the event even starts.
Possibly 3 birds with one stone: I get the gold, don't abuse the event to farm kills, and don't show up in R* stats as having taken part in the event.

guys, its dead easy.

stay on your horse, lasso one npc from his horse, let him free immediatly.

he stands for 2 seconds and pulls his gun. then you run into him, its 5/5 in 2 minutes....

In my eyes, gold is much more worth than 25 dollars.  I would even go to 1 gold = 100 dollar

gold is the door opener to the game, just go for gold, the money comes automatically

1.) you can buy almost everything with gold, but not with dollar.

2.) farming gold is much longer than farming money

3.) if youre out of dollars, you can continue roles etc, you cant do this if you are out of gold

you mean the one by Caliban's Seat?
Is there a specific method you use to get this Dynamic event to spawn, and not any others in the area like Moonshine roadblock etc.?
Thanks

well, I did nothing special and don't know of any special method to trigger the events. sometimes I simply cross the "hot" roads, I ride though the area. worked perfectly this time. if the enemies don't pop up on the 1st ride through the area I ride on, pick a few herbs or shoot some birds and then a couple of minutes later return back to the road. if it doesn't work the 2nd time I use a whole different area.

right above strawberry you can get an ambush by only 2 o' driscolls, easy going there. and  I think somewhere near armadillo (near venter's place/lake don julio) I got attacked by just ONE guy and after I pistol-whipped his ass it said "ambush cleared".

edit: oh yeah I guess it was the one near caliban's seat. not my 1st go to spot for ambushes, originally I was going there to catch 10 salmons. as I mentioned, the road right above strawberry goin down into the valley never disappointed. blackbone forest surprises me with ambushes a lot. or near manzanita post when you head towards owanjilla dam, that zig zag road, skinner brothers pop up there often aswell. also, the one near stillwater creek (at the bridge) where a handful of bandits try to creep up on you. those are my go-to-spots for ambushes. and I do nothing but ride through the areas, stay for a little while and then head on. just sayin

That's the one I got today, on the west side of that loop between Venter's and Rio Del Lobo Rock. It's one of those yellow-dot escort/ambush events, and I got lucky with the ambush.

No, it's not. Or at least, trampling wasn't that easy the other day against Del Lobos. What you've described is similar to my expectation, but for some reason the targets were smoothly deflecting off my horse if they were standing, even if I hit them dead on center. I was a bit surprised that others had a similar experience. So maybe something is up, maybe not. I'll try mixing things up the next time the challenge is presented.

If they're going to give my horse a deflector screen then it damn well better work for trees and the perfect buck I just lassoed too.

Since it IS super easy for me, maybe some reasons are:

- You Riding to slow, I Take 20 Meters and then im fast enough to trample

- maybe the horse breed is a Factor? Maybe some horses have Moral problems to kill a human 😁

man I hate those showdowns.....it sound so easy, but since you still cant your goddamn mode you wanna play, you have to wait and wait and wait for the right mode

honestly f*ck this sh*t.....3 loading times to get in a right mode, where pistols are enabled.

killed 2 people, doesnt count....so I had again 3 loading times to get in a right mode

so after  6 times of loading, I have still no kill, because the  last run didnt eve started...it was count as a draw....so next mode guess what?  without pistols....

The antique alcohol bottle challenge can usually be completed just by taking out a Moonshiner or Revenue Agent operation.  Looting the bodies almost always yields one or two antique bottles.

As for trampling NPCs, I usually hogtie and then have to run them over four or five times.  You definitely have to hit at the right angle but even with deflection, it does damage and they will eventually die.

true dat indeed. just last night, before the challenge was on today's list, I looted not two but THREE antique bottles from a single roadblock (right above moonstone pond). 2x tennessee + 1x cognac. never been that fortunate. gotta try that area later tonight, maybe I get lucky again!
