List of Daily Challenges

sometimes I have the feeling, that R* is sabotaging the daily challanges....

"earn 200 dollars with moonshine": all buyers are greyed out....only on days, when you have these challenges

"kill players in FRE":  FRE doesnt start....only on days, when you need these events....

i could have done every daily  challenge today, if the game would run like intended...

Any tips on "Non-player enemies trampled"?

I know it sounds wimpish to ask (I tend to die in a storm of lawman bullets); just curious how other people do this one when you have bullets flying at you, and a horse with a mind of its own?

I think I usually just lasso a wandering npc off of their horse, wait til their dot turns red and then trample them.

Be careful if they're in pairs as the second rider will likely open fire.

I did pretty much the same thing as @That Guy Mike but chose the Del Lobos at Thieves Landing instead. The targets were deflecting off my horse so I hogtied them before trampling. It was chaotic but worked after a few deaths.

I find revenue agents to be good trampling targets for award progress. They are tough enough to take a shotgun to the chest but not the trampling that immediately follows.

Yeah, I've had some very, uh, bad luck trying that--some time ago, R* buffed how deadly aggro'd NPCs were. 8-O

You can kill a "three pack" (as I like to call them lol), but you have to be fast and kill in a 'certain order' to max your survival chances.

Ideally, a bunch of enemy NPCs in a narrow alley, just large enough for your horse to get through. :) The real "mash". lol

Having done this, or just shoot out their horse with a rifle first, then drag them for a spell to damage them. then hit them while they're standing up.

I gave up after 3.

Every single one after that managed to side step the horse on every approach.

I even shot them in the leg with a varmint rifle and hit them as they were gaining their feet again, which only gave them a slight 'bump'.

When the game starts cheating to make things artificially more difficult, I'm out.

They've obviously changed the AI programming to be able to avoid trampling attacks now.

Yeah, that is what I do (lasso guy off horse, he turns red.)

They have to be guys who can turn red, such as with guns;sometimes they are a farmer/whatever and run off for help instead of going aggro.

Two near each other is nice, though one does start shooting. I pop a moonshine or health tonic before. I think I gave the horse a  health too, then just ran into them circling a bit. Using gypsy pie bald, four like. They have full stamina and health.

I had no trouble trampling then, because they stand still and shoot at me. I mostly did passing guys by Emerald station, did not hogtie first.

I think the easiest way is to lasso a lone rider off his horse (which usually turns him aggro) and hogtie him, then trample. Easy target when they are hogtied. NPC’s in New Austin almost always turn aggro when you lasso them off their horse, and lawmen take a long time to get to you if there is a witness.

Personally, I just pull riders off their horse, they turn aggro, and then I trample them with their own horse as they are getting up. Takes a little practice, but it’s fun.

This is it right here! Thanks!!

Also resolves the dodging/side-stepping BS that R* likes to do.

My hat's off for the suggestion!

I don't even hogtie these npc lone riders, only lasso to take them off horseback. Then it's very easy to trample them to death as they're a red dot getting up from the floor.

It's not as easy now as it has been previously.

That was all I ever did before also, now they're all slippery NPCs.

Lone riders are the best targets, but occasionally a wagon driver will work, the 2nd one I did today was a wagon driver.

Never thought of hogtying them, I'll maybe get on again later to do that.

edit: it may be a glitch, when they added 'trample 5 animals' to the dailies my horse was kicking around sedated turtles like soccer balls until l changed sessions.

While skinning alligators last night, (once again) completed the "3/3 Collectibles looted from non-player enemies."

Thanks R*! lol Just as well though--I couldn't get the "Update horse tack" to complete.

Good to know the teeth still works.

All I had to do for the tack one was to select a saddle already assigned to my horse, then the challenge updated.

Maybe switching sessions works, I have read this happens a lot with quite a few dailies.

Didn't notice changes in that. Got the 5 very easily today.

Lucky!

I was getting quite angry about them sliding around my horse every pass.

I tried at least 5 or 6 and none of them would get trampled no matter what I did.

The turtle thing when it was 'animals trampled' was extremely annoying as well, the horse kicked one of them probably 20 feet 4 or 5 times and it wouldn't die.

I'm going to hogtie a couple NPCs and be done with it shortly.

I just tackle and hogtie them then run the horse over them as many times as I need to before they show up as a little 'X'. Did this tonight with the Murfree dudes that attack the man at the side of the road near Fort Brennand (poor man didn't make it though!) then got a fifth guy as the Fort Brennand gang hideout spawned right afterwards. (In doing this hideout though, it seemed to get rid of the PvP Free Roam Event invite that I was counting on to get that other daily and of course there hasn't been any other PvP FREs for several hours now...)

It takes a bit longer and might be easier but you could also just lasso random NPCs off their horse out on the road, release them then properly hogtie them and run them over - less hassle. 😉

I've had no spawns of any kind today, no moonshine roadblocks / stills, no hideouts, no encounters and no legendary animals.. Have no idea what is up but  been on and off the game throughout the day and nothing has changed.

Where my camp is, as soon as I log on, I either have a hideout or moonshine roadblock / still I can complete, but nothing today.

Also, I've found a way to get the Special Moonshine Complete daily if a batch has already been created and the pop up doesn't appear, join any free mode event, then just quit the event and it should pop for you either on the mission start area, during the free mode event if you want to play it, or when you return to free roam.

I would prefer not to

Oh, posse assassination, Sean?

Kill the men.

All the men have left the session.

And now you're playing Harriet with me, all greyed out? Seriously?

That's really odd!

My sessions were just the opposite.

My second short session (or at least it was supposed to be short) with 7 players I ignored 3 camp defends and did 1, did 4 roadblocks or sabotage still missions, and 2 hideouts as I was just collecting a few things between doing treasure maps.

During my afternoon session I lost count, but probably about the same.

Couldn't get anywhere trying stealth approach until I started using the Ancient Tomahawk.

I think the NPCs are Not counted as enemies, until they start Shooting.... So maybe thats the reason they didnt Count.

I Lasso Them from their horse and immediatly let them free. Then they swear at me for 2 Seconds and THEN they Transform into an "enemy" and Start Shooting. Take some distance and trample Them with Speed, it makes it easier...

"3 player kills with a rifle in showdowns"

Tempted to try that, since it is the only PVP one this time.

"1 on call for story mission", is kind of irritating but I've had that work before.

9 trade ones seem fairly easy again, probably even do at least one bounty (easy one, for the "five minutes left" credit.)

Collector one is even really easy this time (buy 3 maps from Nazar, then just use them, then either do at least one that is digging

up stuff or just ignore them and use the online collector map to find 3 "dig ups" fast, then drink an Antique booze!)

Ah, got it to count ;) it just took me three tries to have five minutes left... Got the other ones too. Did 3 bounty, 3 collector, two natural( not that hardy one..)and Cripps stew for nine!

Then Finally got lucky and had the white stranger dot between Black Belle and that house to the south west. So I finally have poison poppy recipe!

It is definitely the case that they don't become enemies until they start shooting.  What I normally do is pull out my varmint rifle and shoot an NPC.  He immediately turns hostile and will start shooting.   Don't do this too close as if he has a shotgun he can kill you, but generally, once one shot is fired, lasso and hogtie him and then you can just run him over until he's dead.  I usually do this on the open road when there is only one NPC around to avoid witnesses.

Have some of these since I can't remember. It was somehow taken out of the daily challenge cycle in the Moonshiners update, then reintroduced in Naturalists.
