PVP Free Roam Events would be Cold Dead Hands, King of the Castle, Railroad Baron, Dispatch Rider and some other random ones.

 

For the non-PvP player your best bet would be 1: have all your ability cards set to defense, since you're looking for headshots anyway. 2:Hang on the edges of the map and spawn kill. 3: use a rifle and cover if you can. 4; have patience and don't get frustrated sooner or later you'll get the headshots *no matter how bad you are at PvP, there's always somebody worse or afk. ;0

It’s also worth noting that on the days when the daily challenges involve an FRE, the calibre of players in FRE’s decreases drastically - there are clearly a lot of players in there who aren’t used to it, and probably would prefer not to be there

Before long he starts talking about how he would have bathed the local area in a river of blood if he'd known about it in his youth. 

 

Anywho, I should be able to get the majority of these done today. I happen to have a Trader sale ready to go and since it's Friday night I'll probably be on long enough to process a second one. I think I hit the first bonus tier streak today as well.

Since I landed in a 'short stack' of a session I decided to go ahead with the distant deliveries (yes 2 because a full sale only counts as one), so I did another quicky with the small wagon as soon as I got back to camp to fulfill the daily, delivered to the same spot, no hassles.

All of the players but 1 were lower levels for the first delivery, the high level was 691, so very likely a peaceful grinder type. sure enough i passed her on the road later without a second glance, just going about her business.

I actually considered doing the pvp challenges as the first one o pop up for the day was headshot kills, and later there was fool's gold, pretty good choice for the headshot daily, but the melee one, ugh, no thanks!

And I was still busy doing the others so didn't want to give up the low populated session for the chance of finishing off a couple of iffy dailies.

 

If they're going to include pvp dailies all the time, at least they should add a few non pvp ones and make it an optional like the role dailies: include 10 general dailies, 3 are pvp or posse, but you only need to do 7 of 10 to complete.

Everyone wins, those that like that stuff get to do their thing, and those that don't can still get their 7/7.

What I've appreciated with the pvp dailies recently is that they tend to be grouped more often. My impression is that we are more likely to have 3 one day and none the next instead of one or two each day. I almost never bother with anything PvP related unless it's simply to finish a session and the only thing left for 7/7, but I've been completing that goal a lot more often recently - seems like it anyway.

 

When I have worked for player kill challenges, my preference has always been for Master Archer. The challenges can usually be scored before the game even starts, and the chaos usually subsides soon as players finish and quit, or play. I don't feel as bad quitting when it's not a team event. Lone players can often be found standing still with their backs turned and are primarily armed with a bow so I've got more than a fighting chance at getting close enough for a tricky kill requirement. And, I don't mind so much getting killed in this game mode as I usually respawn where I haven't cleared most of the targets.

 

Currently I'm not doing cooperative FREs either. Someone let me know when the lasso griefing stops. 

 

Hurray! Thanks to a small session, I finally finished the award for Fully research 90 unique animals. Now I can throw this dumb camera in the trash and wait for a model that doesn't have a Screw Me Over button that overrides Mount Horse.

Ah, thanks.

 

That was what I thought, about one like Railroad baron that is not really "PVP" (you are defending the train against NPCS, if I recall.) 

 

That is also why I don't do those events, basically (or especially when that daily is up, I guess ;)   )

Nope, You're thinking of "Trade Route".

For the FRE headshot kills challenge cold dead hands, fools gold and king of the castle would be best the others are mostly horseback and pretty fast moving.

9/9 for 6 easy gold doing the dailies for trader, moonshine, and naturalist.

My moonshine delivery was from the bayou to the Saint Denis fence.
Fought a roadblock, 3 waves of attackers, beat the time, and delivered all 20 bottles.
Maybe i got lucky, maybe R* made some changes, and maybe it was the small 2 player lobby i was in.

Yep, indeed. Didn't aim for the main 7/7, but since I got 2 repeater kills in the featured serie, I played another showdown to get the 3rd. The last one was the bird kills on moving train, done fast after landing in a solo session (via change appearance) and fast travelling to Armadillo. 

 

The 9/9 role ones were easy peasy too. I could've done a couple more if it were possible

Same here, I could have easily done 3 more without even thinking about bounties (which I haven't even touched in weeks).

 

Followed a dog to an ambush near Emerald...tomorrow's RNG daily perhaps?

I usually don't touch these either. Only if I'm short for the 9/9 and there's a quick one like "0/3 targets hogtied from horseback" which can be done within seconds on the same target.

Got all my dailies done in like 40 minutes after I updated the list! And like @kcole4001 I don’t touch bounties unless I really have to, too much hassle for little gain, especially when they give you bounties half way across the map, I just reload the session, It’s just not worth my time.

I have 1 role-daily left, collector + naturalist are completeand just by cooking I got another 2 checked, moonshiner and trader. so now I thought MAYBE, I could do the "change decor" thing....I have that basic decor since I bought "my" shack. it's still 10 bars for a new decor and 5 for a change isn't it?! I have this coupon I'd probably never use...3 bars off decor or decor change. can't remember. would use that coupon and then have all dailies checked for today

 

so, suggesions on the theme?! got my shack in the grizzlies btw

I just change the one of photos that I think were free in the law Outlaw Pass or wherever they came from for the 'Change Decor' daily heh, sod paying to theme a shack that isn't really mine and that I spend less than 5 minutes in a day haha.

Bought the one of the decors for gold and now change between that one and the standard one for free!

If you decide to buy a decor theme instead of using the picture strategy suggested above; once you own another you can switch between that and the default decor without additional cost. My preferred decor is Hunter, but since the Naturalist update the lamp lights have been causing nasty reflection artifacts on the top of the bar. Of the other two decors, I tend to use Refine decor more often than Floral, neither is a cool as Hunter though.

I’m holding on to my voucher for 3 gold off until the Halloween stuff comes out. Somebody posted a pic with a moonshine shack that had a Halloween theme decor and it looked really cool. I’m hoping it’s something we can purchase and keep, not just a temporary thing that goes away after the event.

I was about 75 % through with that naturalist challenge, no kills in 24 hours, when on my way to the shack I accidentally hit a small carcass bird who just sat on the road or something. I was like OH COME OOOON, the f*ck!? then I checked the stats and to my surprise it was NOT reset. phew.

I've got this as well. Tried restarting a few times, game kept disconnecting me with different error codes. Managed to get into free roam twice and both times I've got the message that daily challenges are disabled and the option is greyed out

I just sat around in my camp for about 20 minutes to avoid these roadkills....maybe they patched it?

I don't know. it happened so fast as I was riding top speed...but I think the bird just got scared as I was passing by. it then stupidly decided to flap away or whatever - and by doing so it got "in the way". I didn't trample it at all, it must have colided with my horse's ribcage or something like that. stupid move birdie. kind of like rabbits I guess, they get scared and cross the streets when the lights get really close. stupid animal etc...not my fault eh?
