This must be what, the third or fourth day in a row for "0/3 collectibles looted from non-player enemies"? 😒 Still got just 1 more to find.

 

Also f the "0/3 Players revived" one; can barely get close enough to do this without another player killing me or else the player decides to respawn themselves very quickly. 6/7 for the general dailies ain't too bad. 🙂

'Cause in my opinion, it's garbage  AND it permeates shootout shodowns. I despise being forced into such gameplay modes.   Just some simple player vs player shooting matches, is THAT too much to f***ing ask??????

These new special modes they mixed with normal showdowns can get bent. Trying to find a showdown for the pistol daily and all I get is modes with throwing knives and shotgun pickups, that give so little ammo that you just might be able to remove a pixel of health of your opponents.

I saw a fame seeker every day, and the old stranger at my camp 3 times during the 2 weeks I got to play solo sessions, also 1 rival collector, and a wounded animal every couple of days...🤐

.....the knocked out bounty targets I do a lot, just kick them around the legs when they're hogtied and they'll get knocked out eventually.   🙂

Rustler role confirmed! ...all new clickbait, reports from ex-R* devs about the new role...:lol:

15835 distance delivery wagon traveled.

 

What I do is a local/whatever, so I only have a very tiny wagon/amount of stuff. Then I'll do the long distance just for this.

 

Problem: it bugged again and I completed the long distance wagon but it WAS NOT COUNTING THE DISTANCE. This is irritating.

So now I have to do another one.

 

- did another one, checking this time to make sure the counter was going up while driving the wagon, that one worked.

That 43 bucks was worth it! ;) I was surprised no player came after my piddly wagon, while I had the explosive ammo in the bolt rifle, they've

been doing that sometimes lately and seemed "new" and easily dispatched (me being no master at PVP, for SURE.)

well I did a distance delivery (miles counted, daily checked), got paid 100 bucks less than expected though?! 490 something instead of 590 (as advertised). I rarely do these, so I don't know what this was about....but I looted a map while taking out the bandits upon arrival, so it's all good!

You have to do it twice to get the full distance with a local sale.

Perfect, thanks. This list of Faily Challenges wasn't intended to annoy - startle perhaps.

Mostly, I wanted to complain that the rare events are too rare. An experienced player shouldn't consider completing one or two rare events an unreasonable task during a 2 to 4 hour play session. I'm pretty sure I've encountered each of the rare events in a normal session recently - except for the runaway wagon, which I've only seen in solo sessions during a distant delivery when I can't respond quickly enough.

I had a hard time rounding out some of the lists. Especially bounty hunter; knocking out isn't too difficult but I was hoping to get a little feedback on efficient strategies. Anyone try the hammer?

My trick of following a snake until it dies doesn't work anymore. I stockpile skins and only have 4 perfect snake skins collected over a very long time. I can get the snakes to stop and coil if I get close enough while on foot, but still have a hard time getting the clean kill. Any tips?

 

What do I do about duel arguments? Why did I buy this lock breaker? What kind of challenge would be appropriate for refined binoculars? Is it possible to earn only .08 gold from a bounty mission? How do I use Toxic Moonshine effectively so I'm ready to make 2 more when that challenge comes up again?

FYI, my logic behind the Rustler Role starts with: I want an oat bucket at my camp, similar to a stew pot, that gives gold cores to my horse when hitched at camp. So a horse trading role would be a logical role for a horse related bonus. Rustler, to be more distinct than horse "trader" and to give outlaw role players something constructive to do. I enjoyed breaking wild horses in story mode and miss it online, and I liked the mechanic of training up a good horse to bonding 4 and selling them for a nice profit comparable in value and time invested to trading a full delivery wagon.

Alder's Ranch to Colter in less than 1 minute - I tested this one. It took a few tries to work out the route but I managed with a couple of seconds to spare. Might be kind of tight with the horses available to new players though.

I don't have that many perfect snake skins either, kinda hard to dead eye small game arrow to their head. Sometimes a dead eye to the body yields a perfect skin, but oftentimes not. Don't really concentrate much on them as they don't pay well.

4 is about the amount of Robins I have on my satchel since I started gathering them when Frontier Pursuits was announced.

 

If you get Cueva Seca bounty from Tumbleweed and are quick enough you can catch them and deliver for 0.08 gold and about 2 dollars, yay. Time limit given is 2.30 when you trigger it.

 

Danced around message comes from emoting with a dance emote. You can emote inside the shack too

Nice, already have that covered with the little I could accomplish yesterday with constant disconnects ;)

I still managed to at least mess around the swamps, throwing gator skins/herons whatever in the wagon and noticing bullfrogs and such to kill.

the latter, you can have 1 person requesting drinks, and if you serve them 4x the daily is done! so all you need is 1 dude really who "gets it"

funny: got an invite this morning, followed, saw 4 people down at the bar (crowded), got the chance to serve 1 guy, others were fooling around, one guy blocking the bar, then we all got thrown out because "the shack was removed to a new location" or something. yeah thanks, not

 

edit: I guess it's best to invite people on your own, into your shed. you might think people would get it right away, without any saying, but some don't even come down to the bar, some don't take the drinks. gotta signal them with emotes to be cool and get the daily done. or use a mic....personally I don't do that, so I try to make the best out of the emotes to get a point across. sometimes it just doesn't click and I think f*ck THAT DAILY ...

It was a cool list, and R* should definitely pay attention to community ideas like this, even if they're submitted tongue in cheek.

 

My point was rare events are not rare in solo sessions, so if the game worked properly these wouldn't seem so out of reach, which right now they certainly do.

 

For knocking out, the hogtie animation will end with your character at the bounty's feet.

Without moving, I just loot them, then left mouse to attack which initiates a kick when you're still holding the lasso, or you could be unarmed to be safe, just don't hold a weapon.

If you do move just move back to them and face your character at their feet, you'll kick 'em in the legs.

It will take a few kicks before it works and some bounties are much tougher than others, but the 'Knockout' notification will pop up and you'll get XP for it, just don't kick repeatedly too quickly or you could kill them.

I usually slice them with my knife afterwards for extra kill XP and lowering of my honor, unless they're ladies, then I take them in alive...my character's a strong, defiant feminist!  🙂

 

Rustler and it's opposite counterpart Rancher are excellent concepts for new role expansion, added horse utility and perks would spice up game play, additional horse and tack choices would make a broader, more interesting game.

I still say the saddle/stirrup combinations should be completely reworked to offer compromises and no clear top choice, so that there is variety in what people use, rather than everyone getting Naco saddle and hooded stirrups as soon as possible.

They really missed an opportunity to introduce trade-offs in tack choices rather than one OP combination.

Except they still can't get spawns to work, so that would be problematic.

 

Although, when nothing else is spawning I always see wild horses ;) If part of Ranching was capturing those, that would work.

 

I'm still amazed if the lobby very seldom just dwindles down to me, or possibly one or two other people, and suddenly Emerald Ranch seems like a "Ranch"; there are large cattle there, chickens, goats, etc! So I suddenly go nuts, sneaking around with my bow and hunting wagon... tee hee!!!

Thanks for all the tips on knocking out bounty targets. I guess what I was hoping for would be a new weapon, and I didn't think about it until too late, but I probably shouldn't have been searching online for a better description while riots are going on. Anyway..., I think what I'm looking for is something like a civil war era soft sap, or maybe a flat sap - basically a short, flat, leather wrapped weight.  That's what I was hoping for when saw the hammer for the first time, but I'm expecting that tool to be quite lethal when used on a target, hogtied or not.

 

5 Whole animal carcasses sold - Trout again. This time I sold 4 trout followed by one or two of every other small and medium fish, and also sold one of each of the large fish before finally finishing off the challenge with a 5th trout. Only thing left to test would be large fish sold from the wagon, otherwise, stick with the trout as something you can stockpile that Cripps won't accept.

 

Played with the band for 2 mins - Once again I'd like to express my appreciation to the drunk violinist. As much as I've enjoyed the tip about whistling with the washboard I keep coming back to the drunk violin, a truly outstanding performance. Someday I'd like to hear how the tunes sound with a drunk band.

Weird glitches yesterday. First, the character animations weren't working right for the band. Sometimes they or my character would just stand and do nothing instead of playing. Never seen that before. Then my carcasses disappeared while fast traveling to camp. Been a very long time since that happened. Needless to say I restarted the game right away. I'm not all that interested in learning what else can go wrong in a glitchy session.

Drunk banjo is hilarious, too! It really stands out.

I've been curious as to what a full drunk band would sound like (in the game, I've heard it in real life 🤨).

 

The stuck animations for your character and even other band members happens to me a lot, again yesterday as a matter of fact.

Usually it lasts for the whole song, but yesterday it came and went, both for me and for other members, but not consistently.

Sometimes I'd be stuck, others it would be several of us, and other times it would be just a couple of the other players.

6/7 so far - need to find just one more duck! 🦆 Got disconnected three times within an hour and a half of playing and griefed twice; can't wait to get today's lot done before logging out for the day!

Also had some of the biggest eejits joining me in the Story Mission where they rode into LeClerc's wagon on the way into Blackwater twice, destroying it before we even got there lol. 🤦‍♀️

So yesterday, any of the bounty missions I did for the challenges, none of them were the ones where you use Eagle Eye to track and find them, so wasn't able to even start to complete yesterdays 'Eagle Eye used to track bounty target' but today, all 3 multiple bounties were all Eagle Eye ones, go figure!

 

Also, usually there are Ducks everywhere so I thought '3 Ducks skinned' would be a piece of cake, but could I find a 3rd Duck, nope! But plenty of Loons, Geese and Cormorants, which seem to never be around when they pop up on the dailies.

Shoot any target with a tracking arrow and make them move enough to leave a short green trail - drag them with a lasso if necessary. Keep an eye on your target as you approach the jail and when the green trail wears off turn them loose and tag them again. The strategy doesn't work well when they are on horseback, so take care of the horse first if necessary.

Ducks weren't spawning for me either until after I completed the challenge, but a quick session change using Change Appearance near duck spawns was enough to trigger a few. Got 'em with dynamite to make sure none escaped - get just as much fat as a clean kill anyway. If you get desperate, several Legendary Bounties and moonshine missions are pretty good about spawning ducks.

The level 10 players in my story mission kept rushing into the fort against a turret, snipers,and shotguns. It took a few tries but they finally figured it out.
