Animal spawns were broken with Frontier Pursuits update, but you could still get some, but Moonshiners update broke everything and nothing spawns now. Before that thngs were fine huntingwise on consoles

What the actual f*ck? That's a d*ck move by R* right there, they know what animal spawns are like on console.

 

Guess I'll have to load up Philip Carlier for the Gator kill.

 

Edit: Got stuck on infinite loading screen when starting Philip Carlier. Can't start another LB yet, but I got reminded of Yukon Nik, so when I can I'll load up that LB instead, snipe a bear and quit to free roam.

I tried that trader resupply mission thing to get a solo lobby and it worked. I didn't do the first one and started the second right after and it put me in solo. Had to start a bounty after timer expired to keep it solo though.

Spawned in camp near Caliban’s Seat. Tried drinking antique alcohol for the challenge, but couldn’t. I got shot at by NPC’s right away. Turned out to be the ambush at Caliban’s Seat. Finished them off, got the daily done, then chugged down an antique alcohol. Fast Travelled to Lagras, hoping for chicken to trample. Got 4 of them and rode off to find a 5th. Stumbled upon the alligator lady to rescue. Killed the alligators (another daily done), took the lady back to Lagras and trampled a 5th chicken on the way to the dropoff point. 
I felt cocky, so I started Yukon Nik to kill a bear, which worked, but no 3 star animals spawned for at least an hour, while doing the LB. Didn’t finish the LB and logged off. I must have used up my luck in this game for a week’s worth.

The PC is a little better in regards to animal spawns, but they are still few and far between when player numbers approach 20 or higher.

 

At least (for once!) there are no PvP dailies in today's "Standard" list (for those of us who are more PvE players).

 

But good luck finding an ambush with R* leadership's contumacious (read: downright obnoxious) attitude toward player session numbers.

 

That's the catch in all this--it's not just animals spawns that are affected--random events also take a massive dive.

That's one thing that does vary drastically with player numbers: the freeroam missions like ambushes, shine roadblocks, hideouts (I haven't seen an actual hideout in at least a week), rescue the stranger, follow a dog, etc.

^^ Yeah, and I keep running into situations where events (especially gang hideouts) start up around me.

 

As an example, I went to Rathskeller Fork last night for a collectible, and at first, everything looked normal for that location. But within a minute or two, I noticed several NPCs that were hanging around. Next thing I know, NPCs are all over the place... and sure enough, it was a gang hideout bounty mission spawning in around me. When that happens, you can't shoot them (disables your guns when aiming at them); you have to use dynamite (or fire bottles?) for the first kill, then you can shoot them after that.

 

This *constantly* happens to me. I end up in the middle of a gang hideout/bounty mission/etc. 'spawn-in-progress' which is a pain in the *ass, because I don't get the credit for completing it, and yet other players start showing up wondering why I'm there when they thought they saw it first.

^^ Bounty missions include a "hive" of enemy NPCs? I thought bounties missions were just hunting down one or two very challenging NPCs? (I've never done any bounties yet as you can tell--still working on the Collector role). lol

 

In any case, it's pretty clear that the code that handles dynamic NPC/animal spawns around players has never worked at the session numbers that R* is hellbent on obtaining, to the detriment of players trying to play the game.

 

Makes me wonder if this wasn't part of why animals were never added to GTA Online? There seems to be some kind of significant system load difference between an NPC and an animal--why, I have no idea, other than perhaps some kind of complexity inherent in their movement or sheer 3D object load on the game?

They must be random to a degree, I can't imagine it's part of someone's role to schedule Dailies. But as @RyuNovapointed out, the plump bird meat/turkey related Dailies at Thanksgiving, that had to be hand picked.

 

I know the nature of true randomness could have delivered today's list, but really, what are the chances? All the heat R* are taking for animal spawns and we get 6/7 on the main list related to killing/skinning animals? There's no way I'm buying that today's list wasn't deliberate.

Nah, the most annoying thing is that it's already a problem for months on end and still hasn't seen a working fix, or a word from Rockstar's end. With this list, they have given us the big fat middle finger. Then again, just another day in RDO.....

Why even bother with that daily charade sh*t? We all have hundreds of goldbars by now, streak on or off, too much of a hustle to get a broken game going so we can fulfill Quests that are doomed to fail, due to the game mechanics being utter sh*t - useless.

 

Let's just pick flowers, take pictures  of the scenery....and shoot innocent folk in the face...oh yeah AND play some poker. The only sh*t that REALLY works, 24/7

 

This game could be the absolute Breathtaking wild west experience...if THE BENZ would have designed it...but we all know that "got no other guy for the job" imran sarwar lacks the knowledge and skill to make that happen....sam and dan killed "their" company, they killed ambitious gaming....ALL FOR THE CASH

I will say that they are randomly generated BUT it is possible for them to change them at will.
