For the bats I always use the cave behind the waterfall at Elysian Pool, but it’s not working for me tonight (only 1/3 so far after about 5 session hops). I can usually get them all there first or second time.

I used to go there for bats, but as long as animals are spawning properly there should be plenty enough flying around Bluewater Marsh and Copperhead Landing to get the daily done.

 

I got 3 after visiting Madam Nazar at night.

the messed up lobbies, plus the challenges, seems to make it impossible for some players. Last night, I had to give up on Spoonbills, as the only ones I found were two flying far out over deep water where I couldn't reach them. Over two hours of looking, got TONS of blue herons, maxed out my exotic bird meat from pelicans, even got half a dozen bats but Spoonbills? F*** no.

The brown bats are not so difficult, at least in principle. Equip the unblinking eye and varmint rifle, go north of Rhodes at night and gaze at the sky. You can see smoke trails in the sky, like aircraft exhaust. At the end there's a bat. 

 

Nowadays, sessions are void of wildlife. Keep switching sessions until you spawn in a lobby with wildlife.

Yup. Tried something @Ronin Ogami suggested but it just doesn't seem to register at all, no matter what I try. 

 

But it doesn't surprise me anymore to be honest, can't remember the amount of times I had showdown stuff, for example, not register after 3 or 4 games in a row before finally achieving at some point.

It's not that which gets me mad anymore...this game has so much. I just find it utterly stupid to spend $30 on an item that is basically useless for my bounty challenges.

It’s not useless for everyone else though, we tackle them with the bolas equipped and the counter goes up by one.

Shoot all the bad guys save for the target, then keep pushing and tackling him until it registers. Untie him then do it again. Then send R* a ticket.

I can't tackle with bolas equipped but works for me if I do the shove (right trigger) with bolas equipped.

LOL, this game is something else. Donated 3 deer and 2 coyotes from the hunting wagon, and it counted as 5 small animal carcass's.

Picked nine mushrooms, counted as four. My four year old is better at math.

Potato math for challenges started happening for me in the last week.  Sometimes picking herbs from horseback won't count either.
