I know that to attain 100% completion, you have to collect just one set of cigarette cards. Try collecting the other eleven sets if you haven’t already. If other “requirements” are like this as well, try getting yourself to true 100% completion.

Free roam, that’s what the game is best for anyways imo.

I did a minimum evil dirty Arthur to play as much as Marston.  It's been fun seeing the game in a different light as John does almost all of the stranger missions, treasure hunting, legendary tracking, challenges, and more.

I too finished the game, so I played it again, that time I ran around checking out everything I missed, but it wasnt the same, I didnt do it in any sequence, I was just free roaming a lot, so....

3rd time is the charm, this time, as I went I did a really great job of mixing story missions, stranger missions, item requests, chance encounters, side missions, hunting, fishing, checking off challenges, etc  as I went along.
I got the satchel fully upgraded in chapter 2 it has made a huge difference.

I am in chapter 4, I have $11,00000 and I havent done a single bandit challenge, or robbed a single store, train, person, or house, I am going to do a lot of the bandit stuff as John, later.

But I did do hunter challenge, and explorer 100% and 7 or 8 of survivalist and herbalist.

Ive made sure to take part in every stranger or chance encounter as I can while still doing things along the way so Ill do a story mission then go hunting, get the basics unlock the fence the stables, etc.. then with that, explore, find some loot, do some requests, and after a while, another story mission.

So this third time has been awesome, even though I played it twice there are several things I never saw before and some things I did out of sequence on my second play, I am really loving this third play through.

I am not even a little sick of it or bored, etc.. Ive never been to the Aberdeen Pig Farm yet, even though I knew about it I never found myself close enough to get invited so I didn't bother, but this time I am going to try something I read about and see if it works, to pass Arthur's money to John via the Pig farm to see how that affects my epilogue this time around.

All in all it is like the first time for me as I did it so differently, I have the Missouri trotter, two Arabians, and a thoroughbred dapple in my stable, ;last two times I never even cared about horses or what kind I had or what it looked like, or that you could get a horse that wont spook in a fight etc..

I really had no idea how to play an open world game until I played this game twice, lol.

Anyway if you really take your time, and do not rush the story missions, save them til you have to do them, or have nothing else to do, and everything really flows well.

Yeah just like RDR1, never really liked or enjoyed the story, but the free roam? Oof, the best, especially in RDR2.

Play the first Red Dead Redemption, continuing John Marstons story and achieve 100% completion. You can even notice some slight refrences to Red Dead Redemption 2 as well.

as a 100%er including compendium, I believe it would take a lifetime to find everything without some sort of help, guides, youtube or forums, some items are so far off the beaten path that I believe would be impossible to stumble on them.

Might as well not even do it if you're just going to look up the locations like a GPS map.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't really count that 100% completion as an accomplishment...you cheated.

Why do you think R* makes the guides? , Money, if everything was easily stumbled on the guides would not be needed. R* knows there a lot of achievement hunters and uses that as a side cash grab,  I used guides and forums for info,  If using a guide that is commissioned by the game maker is cheating, well you got me. Bones and Dream catchers are the only non skill requirements, everything else is game play.

What's the point of finding them in game if you looked them up? Seems like a waste of time if you already know where they are... It took my forever to find the giant human skeleton (if that's what it even is) located up on a snowy mountain top behind a ledge...

Ah this argument will never be solved. It has gone on for decades. Back in the 90s I often had to buy magazines with walkthroughs in them, otherwise I’d be stuck somewhere in Metal Gear Solid or Tomb Raider 2 or Myst or something, clueless how to solve a puzzle and progress further. But if I had to use a walkthrough, did I actually complete the game, or did the magazine complete the game and I achieved nothing?
