What Doomsday vehicles are worth buying the most?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Since there are Doomsday vehicles on sale right now and I am a bit tight with cash, I wanted to ask you which vehicle(s) you would recommend.

Personally I am interested in the Deluxo since I like flying and I heard it can be useful, but I already have the Oppressor MK II and it has served me well!

Actually I have two of the Doomsday vehicles already, specifically the Avenger and Thruster.

Looking forward to your recommendations!

Here is the list of Doomsday vehicles that I do NOT own which are discounted right now:

  • Imponte Deluxo
  • TM-02 Khanjali
  • Ocelot Stromberg
  • RCV
  • Buckingham Akula
  • Volatol
  • HVY Barrage
  • HVY Chernobog
  • P-996 Lazer

Deluxo is kinda outdated right now with the opressor mk II, for me the vehicles that is good from ddh is

1.Stromberg R2k missiles accuracy and can goes underwater

2.Khanjali stronger than rhino tank good for PvE especially in that gunrunning mission where we have to deliver weapons while fighting merryweathers in a few drops

3.Akula stealth chopper

1. Akula

2. Stromberg

3. Khanjali (you can snipe attacking broomstick tryhards with this thing, if you are a hlaf decent shot)

The Lazer, well if you got the cash I'd say get one. 10 times better than the hydra, broomstick proof and pretty nice to fly.

What the 2 guys above me said. Everything else is irrelevant. The Deluxos admittedly can be useful for PvE sometimes though.

Consensus

Akula, strom, jali

The akula in particular is a stellar effort on the part of R*

Akula. Stealth ability. It's Russian. Looks awesome. Putin recommends it.

Stromberg. Can go underwater so never need to worry about crashing it into water. Strong, can take several explosive hits. Missiles have good tracking. Plus it's based on a James Bond car from The Spy Who Loved Me and is named after the villain in that film.

Khanjali. Strongest best tank in the game. Can seat 4 people. All passengers can use weapons. Tank can drop mines. Ultimate war machine.

Those are the 3 I'd recommend the most.

For fun:

RCV. It's a police riot truck and the only police vehicle you can own legitimately.

Barrage. Great truck, can seat 4 and has two mounted machine guns, can use a combination of 40cal, minigun or grenade launcher.

Chernobog. It's a huge Russian ballistic missile launcher with the best missile tracking in the game. Did I mention its Russian?

The Deluxo I don't actually have. But again, for fun, worth a buy.

Standard Deluxe 59

As far as what would probably be the best bang for your buck, I'd say the Akula. On demand stealth mode is priceless in free roam, especially if you get a business cattle crate.

The Akula - being off the radar is beneficial in literally every situation. If there's one to get first, it's this.

The Stromberg - Oppressor killer with it's super-fast, super lock-on missiles, takes 2-3 misses itself, oh yeah and it goes underwater

Deluxo - it's a flying car with super fast, super lock-on missiles too. Perfect for grinding or griefing. It's the vehicular equivalent of taking the easy way out (more so than an Armored Kuruma), so it makes missions a breeze if you're lazy. It only takes one explosive to destroy tho and the Oppressor MkII has better lock-on range and better speed (plus chaff defensive measures).

The Avenger - because it's cool and can remain stationary in the air with Auto-Pilot. If you don't already have a Mobile Operation Center, I'd get this first. However if you do already have an MoC this isn't necessary.

Honorable Mention

Khanjali - I guess if you like stupid colors and liveries on a tank. Or if you don't have a Rhino. I'd just stick with the Rhino tho since it can climb over cars and the Khanjali can't really do that.  Edit: @White Shark makes a good case for the Khanjali:

Khanjali. Strongest best tank in the game. Can seat 4 people. All passengers can use weapons. Tank can drop mines. Ultimate war machine.

You can ignore everything else.

If you must choose one then the Akula. Stealth Mode changes the entire status quo of the game. PvP dickheads exist only for seeing everyones position on the radar. They cannot function without it so by removing yourself from that you technically dont exist to them. I have hidden in hilarious but obvious places and had fat satly messages sent to me that I am a hacker.

Its also blissful to be able to fly across the map without the fear of being attacked. ust get up above the clouds and fly. You win every battle you dont participate in.

I dunno, I have the Hydra and it made the Lazer entirelly redundant.

Quick question about the Akula, yes I love that it has stealth abilities, but the only place where I see this being useful is when doing bussiness work or any of the securoserv/bikers missions. I very very rarely get attacked just flying around, but I do get attacked quite often when having a crate or something with me, but I heard that even though the stealth hides your PLAYER BLIP it won't hide the CRATE BLIP, and since you are carrying the crate it will move on the map and reveal your position, is this true?

Gotta rep the Chernobog just because its so different, excellent place to sit and roll a joint while f*cking up everything halfway across the city.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what are R2K missiles? I heard there is a glitch or something with the Ruiner 2000 missiles? How does it work?

"R2K missiles" are simply the hyper-accurate tight turning ones first seen on the Ruiner 2000. Stromberg, Scramjet, Vigilante have them. Probably something I forgot [edit - AA trailer].

No glitch that I'm aware of, you might have seen people using the CEO work Fully Loaded to f*ck people up in a virtually-indestructible R2K with infinite missiles.

With the addition of the MkII it is almost impossible (from my experience) toy travel across the city or to and from it without someone popping off an Instant Win missile at you just because they can. A helicopter marker is like crack to an addict to these people. Being able to sneak in and out of the city is a blessing.

As far as I know it does block the Cargo crates icon and I think the BB icon blips every ten seconds. To be honest I have never found nor been told a definitive answer to that question. I bought mine becuase it looked cool and as an end of 2018 gift to myself but its Stealth Mode has become invaluable just for travelling.

I never really had that experience, even after I bought my Oppressor MK II, the only time I get attacked is if I activelly flying towards someone and have my lock-on turned on, which makes sense. If the Akula shielded me from crate blips, it would be a purchase, definitelly!

Oow! Thanks, so they are just better lock-on missiles than the usual ones, interesting, might give the Stromberg a go!

Stromberg - goes underwater, takes 2 or 3 missiles

Vigilante - rocket boost and a normal map icon (priceless)

Scramjet - Travel in style. Take an up-n-atom with you.

The ruiner 2000 missiles, they are really powerful unlike buzzard missile, this one swirl like a banana right to the target 😂

But limited to 20 missiles iirc, it is very good for PvE, but bad for PvP imo

As it hasn't been mentioned, the Akula's stealth ability also reduces your wanted level to 2 stars instantly. No cost, no cooldown.

Believe me, this WILL come in handy more than you think.

Besides, it's a lot of fun to fly once you get used to the handling.

Well its actually the other way round. If you own a Lazer you wont need your hydra ever again.

Lazer is the better dogfighter and unlike the hydra it can fly straight up.

Well actually it's been the opposite for me, especially since the Hydra is VTOL, making it much better for missions.

Okay, there's some wrong info being thrown around so I thought I'd clear it up:

Stromberg DOES NOT have missiles as accurate as the Ruiner 2000 missiles, it's in between the missiles from the Homing Rocket Launcher and the R2K...They're the same missiles you find on the Vigilante. Their tracking is good enough but they CAN miss.

The Stromberg can survive up to 6 homing missiles, give or take, and three RPGs/sticky bombs/mines/grenades(these are stronger than homing missiles);

Stealth mode of the Akula WILL hide cargo blips as well, but it only the blips of the crates you're carrying...If you have any other cargo on the map that you're not carrying, it won't hide its blip. At least it used to be like that a year ago, unless R* changed it.

Be advised that the stealth mode may get bugged sometimes and won't hide your blip.

--------------------

With all this being said, I recommend OP to get a Stromberg, it will be your most reliable counter to the OP Mk2...There's also the Fully Loaded Ruiner 2000, but every  griefer worth its salt will know to avoid it.

I would recommend to buy Akula first. Akula is a very nice chopper, easy to handle and land and this is the only vehicle which can go off radar on demand. Akula hides everything except Business Battle cargo and bounty. For supply missions Akula really shines when you need to quickly pickup cargo whitout  landing. It's mostly hangar and CEO crates missions. Other than that it's a quick mean of transportation without being spotted by other players.

Just keep in mind that Akula is cops magnet - shooting from Akula attracts cops on supply missions when shooting from other vehicles doesn't. So you'll need to loose wanted stars first if you want land and pickup your stuff without being killed by cops. Going to stealth mode immediately reduces wanted level by 2 stars though. Also Akula is not invisible, so when players have visual on you then can shoot you down quite easily like any other aircraft. Akula doesn't have flares and can survive about 2 homing missiles I think. It's machine guns next to useless and homing missiles lock only on other vehicles, so killing people on foot requires some skill.

Definitely look into buying the Akula. No matter what wanted level you're at, pop stealth mode and you're instantly down to 2 stars.

Pariah, Yosemite, Hustler.

All sexy as. ;)

But yeah, Akula is a real winner here, IMO.

  • Imponte Deluxo      - Oppressor Mk2 is superior in combat
  • TM-02 Khanjali       - Recommended - deals swiftly with almost anything thrown at it
  • Ocelot Stromberg   - Recommended to deal with Oppressor Mk2s
  • RCV                       - not recommending this
  • Buckingham Akula - Highly recommended, get this one first
  • Volatol                    - not recommending this, big, slow plane, limited bombing capacity
  • HVY Barrage          - not recommending this, not a lot of protection for the gunner
  • HVY Chernobog     - not sure about this, doesn't work against skilled pilots if they know where you are.
  • P-996 Lazer           - see below

You're both right. Lazer is the better dogfighter, Hydra is better at picking up crates. I own both.

About buying Lazer, it depends. If you have hydra, AND a hangar on Fort Zancudo, just keep stealing them.

If you have hangar at LSIA and are not willing to move to Zancudo, then by all means buy Lazer (and maybe Hydra too)
