Dboi-2001
What clothes and hair/beards do you rock with Franklin, Michael and Trevor? For it it goes like this Michael- all black suit, aviator sunglasses, stubble and slicker hair cut. Sometimes I also go with polo and jeans but usually suits. I also like making him look like Max Payne from 3 with the Hawaiian shirt and bald/full beard combo. Sometimes I give Michael the gun tattoos on his stomach and the Michael+Amanda on his arm and even the one on his neck Trevor- white leather jacket, jeans, aviators, bald and full beard. I made him look like a biker badass and I love the leather jackets. I also give him the Love Fist shirt with a LoggerLite hat. Also got him the F*CK COPS tattoo with the piggy tattoo on his stomach. In my second play through I made him look like a hipster (iFruit hat, rimmed glasses, plaid shirt or t shirt, jeans, arm tattoos, big stach with Randall) Franklin- Either a letterman jacket (either the green or black one), a tank top or basketball jersey (specifically the black and yellow one), jeans, either script Los Santos or Kings hat, earrings and full body and sleeve tattoos. I usually either go with default or three rail hair style but I sometimes rock the more crazy hairstyles (favorite is the business top) and go with either methodical or van dyke. I also like the Afros and cornrows something else i liked doing throughout the story is changing the characters to fit the situations. *some spoilers* When Franklin was in the hood I kept him in his default shirts and hoodies with cornrows but after moving to Vinewood Hills started to swag him out. After Michael’s family leaves him I gave him the long stubble and only dressed him in polos and t shirts. When Trevor is discussing deals with Cheng I dressed him in a suit and shades and when he goes to LS and stays at Floyd’s I mainly dressed him in tank tops and shorts. When Trev and Michael hide out in Sandy Shores I had Michael go bald and grow a full beard, wear mainly tank tops and jeans. Trevor I cleaned him up for Patricia and mainly had him in polos and buttoned shirts. After Micheal became a producer I gave him the slicker and goatee. Also after Trevor finds out Brad died I replaced his RIP MICHAEL tattoo with Wages of sin What about you guys? How’d you customize the protagonists? Hmmm nice bike
I always gave Trevor a Dale Gribble or Hunter S. Thompson look. Orange baseball cap, aviator sunglasses, button up shirt. It's a look that really suits him. I tried dressing the other two to what I wanted, but I stopped because their outfits keep f*cking changing every time you switch. I get that it's supposed to be a joke about Trevor never changing clothes or being hygienic, but it's annoying that I try to make Franklin actually look nice, and as soon as I switched to someone else and switched back a little later, he changes into an absolutely ridiculous outfit (like his Uptown Riders shirt with sweat shorts, or a f*cking purple shirt even though he's a member of the Families). Aquamaniac
Trevor: Full beard and bald, trucker cap, sun glasses, jeans jacket, jeans pants and fancy shoes Franklin: Jeans or dress pants and varsity jacket or casual jackets, either sneakers or fancy shoes Michael: Don't care much about Michael, jeans and ammunation hoodie Edited February 22, 2019 by Aquamaniac
billiejoearmstrong8
Michael: Tommy Vercetti look with the blue hawaiian shirt and jeans, hair slicked back and light stubble. Or a rich guy style pastel sweater and light coloured trousers with long full hair and a full beard Franklin: Usually don't bother because he changes clothes so much but when I do it's green stuff to rep the Families, either clean shaven or a van dyke with a fun pattern in his hair. Sometimes switch it up to a Rick Ross full beard and shaved head Trevor: I feel like the really crazy style beards and hairstyles don't actually fit his character somehow, they make him a silly redneck caricature. So I have his hair the regular way and either keep him clean shaven or with the handlebar moustache (only one that really fits right imo). Clothes I'll either try to make him look reasonably good with casual country style shirt and jeans with boots or go a bit more silly with some short shorts and a vest. If he happens to turn up in a dress with nothing underneath I'll keep him like that for a while for the fun of it. I realised I don't make much conscious effort to make the V characters look "cool", particularly Michael and Franklin, because they're really not cool characters lol (like, I can't think of any moments in the story where I went yeah he's badass). So I just have fun with them. Trevor character has a bit more depth and I guess that's why I prefer him looking slightly less goofy Edited February 22, 2019 by billiejoearmstrong8

TBF with Mike and Franklin they usually spawn at their houses where they can easily change. Trevor sometimes spawns miles away from his safe houses personally in GTAVI if they bring back character swapping they should have it to where you can save the outfit and access at any store after you buy it

Dude, install this mod: Skin Persistence / Save Outfit https://en.gta5-mods.com/scripts/skin-persistance-save-outfit#comments_tab This is a simple script that lets you save your current characters. Outift and set it at any time you want nothing more nothing less. The characters outfit is saved on your PC so you can load it at any time you want. Cheatz/Trickz
Back when I played V, I kept them all looking fairly default, no dumb haircuts or tattoos, none of them make an ounce of sense and the characters would be mocked to no end if they sported any of them. At most I would give them a five o’clock. It would be cool if hair grew like in RDR2 though, something for GTA 6 maybe? For clothing I only wore things that I imagine the characters would actually wear i.e. no hipster jeans for Franklin. This goes for all the games, I kept CJ looking normal and not a cornrowed bodybuilder with a dumbass gold chain and shades. And in IV, those hats...just no. The suits too, never was a fan of them, Niko wouldn’t wear a suit unless he needed to. Edited February 25, 2019 by Cheatz/Trickz
Wolff
I gave up when I noticed the game itself changes your outfit after a while. Very annoying feature.

Very annoying feature. Yeah also this. Like, for all the talk of being back to having lots of freedom to customize your characters you really don't. It's particularly bad with Franklin because his outfits have the most elements and you go through the ton of clothes he has to put together a look and then it goes away EVERY time you switch. A couple of times I thought it'd be fun to give the 3 characters matching hairstyles and outfits, and turns out it's a huge hassle to do it because every time you switch to do the next one there's a chance one will change, took a lot of effort and could only keep the look for as long as the 3 hung out for a bit. Very bad idea and completely unnecessary that they change clothes on their own. Edited February 25, 2019 by billiejoearmstrong8 Wolff

Red dead takes itself much more seriously and immersive tha GTA which is more satirical. It could be interesting though and GTAVI should have the customization of RDR2 (side note in RDR2 do you have to keep cutting your hair and beard?) I mean how the hair just grows a little bit in stages every few game days or so, I don’t know what you mean by “nature passive growth”. You don’t have to keep cutting your hair in RDR2, you can let it grow if you want. GTA has always had realistic elements, the satire is very much a background thing. GTA IV is full of satire despite its serious story, and it manages that balance perfectly. Beato_dim

Ok I think I need to reword what I'm saying Let's say I want Arthur to be bald and clean shaven through the game. After a while will he start to grow his hair and beard back? If so do I have to go to a barber shop to cut his hair so often or can I keep him bald-no beard without needing a haircut? I guess the HD games have been going a more realistic approach compared to the 3D games which were much more unhinged so maybe it could work. I also think GTAVI should have piercings too at the tattoo parlors. Honestly RDRII should be the benchmark for GTAVI even bringing back features from SA like being fat or skinny

The story also jumps ahead in months sometimes and Arthur’s hair can be significantly longer when the game does this so yes you’ll have to go back to the barbers to get rid of it.
