Popular Post Parik
DragonFF Blender GTA Input/Output DragonFF is an import and export script for Blender. Blender is a free and open source 3d modeller. It has lacked proper DFF plug-ins support for a long time. Even though a few scripts were made, they didn't have enough features to completely make Blender a viable alternative for GTA modding. Although not complete yet, it supports most of the features required for basic model editing. I plan to extend it to support map files and make it a complete tool set for Renderware modding, and finally add support for newer games like IV or V too. Features These scripts are a Work in Progress, and as such do not have all the planned features implemented. Following are the key features supported, as of now, by DragonFF. DFF Files Import and Export COL Files Import and Export Second UV Map Specular and Reflection Material Extensions Bump and Environment Mapping Effects Bones Support UV Animation Screenshots Vehicle support with proper reflection, specular materials and collision import. Materials and Bump Mapping support Bones and skinned mesh support Downloads The scripts are current in alpha stage, and might not work with all models. Shagg_E
Wow, impressive work! And also nice OP formatting P.S. Did I understand correctly, there are only sources on GitHub right now, no release yet? Instruction on GitHub talks about "Releases" but they're not there yet. I never have installed Blender scripts, just tried to install .py scripts from "master" zip as add-ons, and didn't succeed... Sorry for noob question, just wanted to test some models Edited February 21, 2019 by Shagg_E Estet and Parik

Didn't realise Github created another subdirectory after downloading a zip file. You'll need to extract the gta folder and create a zip archive of that to be able to install it. Or you could also extract the folder to the plugins folder directly. Estet and Shagg_E

Estet
Again, I cannot understand why light is so wrongly placed on an object? Put on the lighting, performed the function <Dirty Vertex Color> and applied the function <Bake>. Maybe I'm wrong, in Blender 2.8 another "method" of lighting the object, if you know how to write me about it. https://imgur.com/a/whubO5N https://imgur.com/a/MKvbvvu

There were some issues with 2.79, I wrote about it to Parik in PM, and he solved them. But I didn't test anything else but VC characters stuff. It's an ambitious project, so it can't be without some bugs. But I think the more people will test it - the faster we got the final product. I'm trying to spread this software in the Russian community. We have a lot of people making models for games R*. They should be interested. 5 minutes ago, Shagg_E said: Unfortunately, I don't know... Kingbing
This is a really cool project. I'm surprised that Blender has been neglected for so long for GTA modding considering it's free and all that. Now when I try to export a vehicle model that I modified, I get this error... Spoiler https://imgur.com/Lmm0Y3e I checked the "only selected" box and set the version to GTA SA and that error comes up when I try to export it. Also, as a sidenote, if I don't check Mass Export or Only Selected, Blender becomes unresponsive requiring me to close the window. This was on version 2.79 by the way. Try this operation on version 2.8, if that doesn't work, I will try to help you.

Maxwell_Edison
Hello from the Spongebob: Battle For Bikini Bottom modding community! We've been looking for a .DFF converter for blender for quite some time now as well, and are glad to see one in development. That being said, we're having some problems with it. A few of us have tested it, and while it could be because our game's .DFF are on a different version or something, we thought we might as well post the errors we're getting here to see if we can get some support. This happens when importing, in both the 2.8 and 2.7 blender builds. Estet
