J LaFleur
I was thinking recently that the HD Universe could just be an alternate timeline where something changed to make the events of the 3D stories never happen, with the locations retconned of course In III, Claude could have either been killed by Catalina in the bank heist, or he is never broken out of the prison escort. In VC, Tommy either could have never been released from prison, or he could have been killed in the ambush In SA, CJ’s mother could have never been killed, meaning he never moves back to Los Santos, and the Ballas eventually take over the Grove (like we see in V) I’ve never played LCS or VCS, but I know a little bit about the story of VCS and maybe Vic was never framed and remained in the military. just a theory but take it into consideration Edited February 20, 2019 by The Epsilonist
FoxSites
Interesting theory but it’s unlikely since they made the hd universe so they could have more freedom with different things they could do.
DimitriFaustin
They're all alternate timelines to the 3D games I'm only joking - the 2D, 3D and HD Universes are all seperate from each other, probably for the exact reason FoxSites said. I can't really see the 3D characters having had a different life in the HD games - they were a product of their era, so to speak. Actually, all the GTA protagonists are. Copcaller
I look at the universes like the 616 and ultimate universe in marvel. Same characters exist just have different backgrounds and traits Edited February 28, 2019 by Copcaller
