What do you miss from RDR1?

Mods, please move if needed. :)

I have been doing a fair bit of playing the last few days, and realised I miss the decoy women with the guys hiding behind their horses and the busted wagon. I had noticed a lot of broken down wagons, and it reminded me. Would be nice to see something like that now and again.

What do you miss from the previous game?

Montana Actual

Crazy horses and Undead. Seriously. It's been so long and the rest of the zombie market has pretty much made me boycott the entire theme, but when it comes to RDR: Send it.

Desert. (New Austin doesn't count it was underutilized.)

Also I miss those banditos.

Skinning horses and dogs.

You see Rockstar, when you take that away from RDR2 you just lessen the experience and immersion of go anywhere do anything...

Having the deserts make 80 percent of the map. To me it felt more western.

Unlimited Bounties. It is such a perfect fit for the post epilogue too, don't know why they removed them.

SINGLE PLAYER: Mexico, populated and fully functional Armadillo and McFarlane Ranch (people, stores, etc.), accesible interriors in said places, spaghetti-western feel that RDR 2 lacks.

ONLINE PORTION: Mexico (especially Chuparosa, Las Hermanas and Tesoro Azul), Armadillo and McFarlane Ranch with butcher, gunsmiths, post office and accesible interrios we could enter in RDR 1, The Announcer

PVP: Fun and fan favorite modes (Hold Your Own, Grab The Bag), smaller maps in Showdowns (there's too much running for a 7 minute showdown), fair PVP modes without ability cards, The Announcer who pumped the tension, Mexican Standoff at the start of each Showdown, forced weapons for a specific map.

I really miss being able to just quickly dispatch a group of lawmen in towns and be done with it. Now it just feels like the government sends hordes of soldiers your way to ultimately get annihilated by my golden Volcanics. You never feel like you're alone and free except in West Grizzlies.

Nothing makes you feel like a badass outlaw than walking through a town, empty and ruined, that you just destroyed.

Edit: Also miss the whole bounty hunter system. Now we get chased every 10 minutes it seems and it's way too lazily designed. I was expecting speed and "noise" to play a role in how fast and frequently bounty hunters would catch up to our trail but I'm guessing anything that's anywhere close to being "intricate AI" is a no-go for Rockstar.

It was really a bummer to me to find New Austin with so little content. The West Texas /New Mexico landscape is so iconic in the western genre that it feels  wrong to have it underutilized.

Agreed. The only place you can still do that is Van Horn.

I love doing that because it has the best wanted/combat theme in the game

Horseshoes, high stakes poker.

And most of what's already listed like Mexico, bounties, and liar's dice.
