If you could refund one purchase

I bought my dual mausers with gold bars instead of cash. However, I feel like once we pull out of beta things might change. Hoping we get the choice to make purchases with cash on all items and just have gold as an alternative. Otherwise, this is like having certain cars in GTA that you can only get with the purchase of a shark card. How pathetic would that be?

Split Point ammo pamphlet. Absolutely useless sh*t for me, because i'm always use Express ammo. Bought it by mistake while wanted buy Small Game arrow which stay just nearby, but missed and... thank Dutch it's just $350, not 750, 890 or 1000. I'd killed myself via fly over the balcony of 8th floor if this paper was cost me more money. What else... outfit (don't remember which one exactly), but it's fine, only 20 bucks.

My andeisian i paid gold for, should have just stayed with my Ardennes until I could get the turkamon.  I kind of regretted the split points but they give me an easy way to get the crafting buckles reset.

Best advice right there, small game arrows definetly are worth it in the long run, I wonder how many people also dismiss the quails that spawn right where Arthur in SP get's.. ching ching* *spoiler won't spoil. Basically it's not far from where you spawn after the right side of the tracks story mission.

Edit: also using small game arrows for fishing purposes is a hell of a lot quicker than the youtube crowd and their deer carcass methods

True. Perfect quails sell for 2,75$ and always can be found in a group of 4-6 or so. Only get you 1,60$ or so with varmint.

Well my best advice is dont buy small game arrows. Spending the extra time trying to get perfect kills with your bow just isn't worth it. You'll earn more, alot quicker using a varmint.

There is no „extra time“ once you learn how to use it. It‘s just something extra on the side which adds to varmint scores. You‘ll lose a lot in the long run if you only use varmint.

basically everytime I go to the butcher I got at least 7-8$ in squirrels, some singing birds and always 10 crow feathers + the meat you get from it. That alone is worth like the same than a perfect male buck, and can be hunted on the side everywhere.

I think you‘re underestimating the profit you could make with em, same for small fish.

No offense, though. Everybody got their own strategy!

Horse meal pamphlet seeing how it cost $800 and it is useless since everytime you run any kind of stranger mission or story mission, your horse cores get drained.  Hopefully it is a bug that they fix.

My other regrets are the lock breaker that doesn't show up in my weapon wheel and I have no idea how or when I will use it(hopefully in additional content coming soon) & the upgraded saddle bag on one of my earlier saddles.  There was nothing upgraded about it.

Horse meal costs 400$? I just bought it yesterday and cores only got reset when I got the infamous xxx00006 error.
was it 800$ before?

now that was really a waste of money for me too. Bought it when I unlocked it cause I thought I'm gonna need the extra ammo, but yea.. I probably crafted split point ammo only once or twice. In the time it takes to craft them, I could have hunted 4 squirrels and 5 birds with small game arrows ;)

@rusbeckia since I know you're a seasoned RDR gamer I'll give the small game arrows another chance. Didn't know I had to use full drawlength to 1-shot squirrels.

Do you use paint it black with your bow?

Edit. Tip for others when snake hunting: get off the horse. The snake will curl up in defensive position instead of fleeing. It'll let u headshot him with ease

I just recently started to play around with paint it black but honestly never used it efficiently when hunting. It seems to me that it‘s hard to mark your target to get a clean shot. But maybe that‘s just cause I‘m not used to it.

yes, full drawlength (didn‘t know it‘s called that in english) is required because their damage is so small. It actually just stuns the animal cause you don‘t have an arrow head with smallgame. That‘s why full drawlength is so important I guess.

Also, you‘re tip about snakes is worth gold, I actually never managed to get a clean shot on them when they are moving, no idea if this is even possible!

I‘d be happy if you report back with the experiences you made, if you give it another try :)

I'll try it out later on and report back.

Yeah draw length. I messed around with bow crafting when I was younger and googled alot of US sites. (Managed to make a 45lb draw weight hazel longbow, thats enough to down a deer. Sry for off topic, I just rarely get to brag about it 😂)

Nice! I did that too when i was a kid, but it was really improvisational. 😂

just fooled around with it in the woods. In RL I‘m actually against hunting (at least against the hunting policies we have in our country, which kind of dismiss the ecological function of what hunting could have, that‘s why it pisses me off. Like feeding boars with corn in the woods to shoot them and then complaining that boars are overpopulated and might destroy crops. Utter bullsh*t imo). But yea, enough of OT!

I'm probably remembering the price wrong.  But for me it doesn't matter.  If I do any kind of stranger or story mission the cores get drained to 1/4 or less no matter what.  I don't feed my horses anymore because it seems to be a waste when I'm constantly doing stranger missions or story missions one right after the other.

I will test how it behaves for me when I get on again.

Actually I did nothing after buying it, besides riding across the whole map hahaha

Hope they fix it asap.

No issues with it just roaming in free roam, but start any kind of job and the cores are almost gone.

If that‘s how it is right now, I think I‘ll save up the 10 special nutritions I crafted yesterday for when they fix this crap.

Give it a try first if you already bought it.  It's been pretty evident that we don't all suffer from the same bugs so maybe it will be fine for you.

I don’t really regret any purchases yet except for a sh*tty saddle I bought by mistake, but I got rid of that.

But I’m tempted to buy the Semi Auto Pistol and the Black Arabian, so my question to you is; would I regret that?

Currently using Schofield + Missouri Fox Trotter.

I don't regret nothing. If you bought something that you felt was useless. You shouldn't let guilt and regret plague your mind. That's for weak and negative people. We all make mistakes because they haven't been tried or tested by others. But in the end, we learn from our mistakes and do things better next time.

I would go with Mausers. My Semi-Auto Pistols were sitting in the dark. But they could be useful some day if Semi-Auto Pistols were a pickup weapon on a map. Before you come on here saying that Semi-Auto Pistols should've been refunded.

I kinda felt this way about Split Point for a while but I've come around lately. I use them for PvE missions and then craft some more when I have a little downtime. It's a good way to work toward repeats of the item crafting award. Once I've done that ten times, enh, they're nice to have as a backup when Express runs dry out in the field.

This for me too. I never once regretted a purchase in GTA:O, won't here either. Buyers remorse just isn't my thing. :)

I like the Litchfield's fire rate better. I know a lot swear by the Lancaster but I prefer the Litchfield. Carrying around three carbines is like having two extra johnsons. One will do the trick.

The carcano was just a dumb mistake. I had totally forgotten it was scope only. Oh well.

But Litchfield shoots a little slower than Lancaster, which is what you wanted? A slower firing rate. The only main selling factors for Litchfield is highest damage from Repeater class and highest magazine capacity.

Yeah the snipers are very situationel. The money I spend on the rolling block hasn't been justified for me either.

I often carry both Lancaster, for low ranks, and Litchfield, for never without one and slow and steady users.

I'd really love to throw away the carbine repeater though

Carbine Repeater is useful in Name Your Weapon (Teams) on Annesburg. Even the scope attachment helps to kill enemies really far away that aren't moving.

Absolutely! Had one of my most memorable races in that thing too.

Genuinely, I'm a truck lover in GTA, and it being 50% cheaper when I did buy one was just the icing on the cake. (I'd usually steal one, but by then I was loaded, lol). :)

Now we need a butcher that is located somewhat close to the North so we can actually use cold weather clothing.  And no Valentine doesnt count lol.

Yeah, and what's with those water snakes being un-lockonable (until they move to the ground?) They also seem to require a VERY direct hit with a varmint or bolt-action rifle; good luck trying to kill 'em in the water with a shotgun, even at close range.

Yet more bugs that need fixing...
