Moving New Austin timeline to RDR 1 timeline to fix long horse riding issue.

We all had those long horse rides to visit a butcher, gunsmith, post office, etc. cause some towns don't have major points of interest for online. Go visit a gunsmith and make your starting point Tumbleweed, you'll see what's the issue there(not the one in Tumbleweed of course, go to West Elizabeth). I noticed many players had their complaints regarding this.

Easy solution: Rockstar said that online portion will be it's own world, right? I know they mentioned that several times. Why not moving New Austin timeline to 1911(RDR1 cholera free town) and have butchers, gunsmiths, post offices, stores in Armadillo and McFarlane Ranch? Those places had them in RDR 1. Since they ignored proclamied "realism" on several aspects in RDO, why not ignore it in this aspect too?

Moderators, if this doesn't deserve separate topic, please let me know.

Armadillo could have those things in the current timeline. It's goofy to think the cholera outbreak lasted from 1898 (RDO setting) to 1907 (Epilogue setting). The entire town would have been gone after a 9 year epidemic.

Having RDO set before the events of the story should also open up the chance to add something to the top of the map in Colter. The town could be dying like Tumbleweed, but not entirely abandoned yet since Dutch's gang won't get there for another year.

Of course I doubt they do any of this.

Don't even need such drastic time morphing to have this stuff. Put a butcher at MacFarlane ranch or wherever else in 1898; he left sometime in the many years between then and the next pertinent point in the timeline. Doesn't even really require explicit acknowledgement. This was a time in history when huge numbers of people were regularly on the move and only in a given place until the opportunities dried up or they just got bored.

I second a butcher at MacFarlane Ranch. With camping/aggressive players and random disconnects it'd help to have more options.

and please add a butcher in the north east map (around van horn) . its a shame not to hunt there

I forgot to add guys, by moving a timeline to 1911 Thieves Landing could go back to being a town not just a few shacks.

When I saw that the Online story took place a year earlier than the Single Player story, I thought R* was going to get creative with Armadillo/Colter/Thieves Landing or some other locations.. but that requires actual hard work and R* has only proven that they are no longer putting hard work into Red Dead 2. They are instead going to copy and paste content from GTA Online and then put a 1898 spin on it. My faith in Red Dead Online has depleted to nothing after this passed week.

Thank God a bunch of new games are coming out soon!

As soon as I saw that Fools Gold activity announcement I knew they were in full copy and paste mode. It sounds just like the Juggernaut from GTAO.
