Animals disappearing

The past few sessions I have not seen a single animal to hunt. Not even birds in the sky. Zilch. Last night I covered the entire map and didn't see a single animal to hunt. Today I had a riderless horse following me and suddenly I was hit with a fire bottle. Turns out the horse wasn't riderless, just invisible to me. Once I killed the horse the rider appeared. I remember when things like this began happening in the original game and it wasn't long before playing online was virtually impossible.

My entire posse is having the same issue. The game is not completely loading.  Missions won’t start.   It’s nothing but other players grieving and using glitches so you can’t hurt them.    Every time I load into a new lobby it’s the same

rockstar told me to turn it off and unplug the xbox for 30 secs.  didn't work

Wild life got drastically reduced for me, I have to search for 10 minutes before I find anything alive on the map, and when I find it, it's just 1 lone animal.

This problem seems to be most common for Xbox players. I'm not sure what causes it, my assumption is a server dump when it's getting under too much load? R* reduced spawn rates for animals to reduce server load before if I remember right. Should of been fixed with the last major update but could be a problem still.

 

No idea.

 

Here are few extra possible solutions to help fix it.

 

- Most common is a simple restart of the game. (Doesn't seem to do much unless it's a few times or could work the first time.)

 

- Another is selecting a new Free Roam lobby from the 'Online' menu.

 

- Joining a friends session seems to be a reliable way to solve this issue.

 

All of these might work the first time, not at all or somewhere in between. Best help I can give y'all unfortunately.
