B Dawg 10,405
If you've noticed, some of Niko's suit & pants textures (as well as Luis default outfit) seem a bit greenish, and artifacted even (both due to the textures themselves being bad as well as DXT1 compression which mostly affects darker colors). With some simple desaturation work and importing the textures in PNG format with A8R8G8B8 compression settings, greenishness and artifacting has been completely eliminated. Current status: Niko: 2 suits and 2 pants fixed (although the pants are duplicates for whatever reason) Luis: Default outfit fixed Will do more if I find any other oddities. B Dawg 10,405
Part 2: Peds Edition Download Fixed artifacting/greenishness on Roman, Luis and Gordon's clothes, got rid of the brownishness of his wedding suit so that it matches his new and improved pants. Optimized texture files by replacing low res textures of non existing body parts with even smaller, mono color textures. In game versions use higher quality cutscene textures. iiCriminnaaL 4,383
Good work, bro. I made a similar mod to this, but for some reason the textures keep getting corrupted, whether converted from/through OpenIV or SparkIV (and especially OpenIV). By the way, there're more greenish pieces left: uppr_diff_001_a_uni and lowr_diff_006_b_uni.
B Dawg 10,405
That's weird, never had those problems ever (only used OpenIV).
iiCriminnaaL 4,383
I just made a little unofficial add-on for your mod, you can add it if you liked to 😉. It includes refined versions of Modo's black leather jacket, trousers and shoes, as the first two tend to green, while the last tend to blue. I've also darkened them a little, otherwise they would've looked more grey than black. I also applied the fixes to the outfits' shown counterparts in the clothing shops. B Dawg 10,405
Part 3: NOOSE Edition Download You know, I think R* secretly hates Black People, they're the only characters in the game with weird, greenish hair. Lol but seriously, what's up with the greenish hair? Anyways, I've found and fixed the following problems: - Greenishness from 2 head textures has been fixed; - Helmets have had very minor quality improvements (less artifacting), as well as optimizations (deleting duplicate normals/speculars since one mesh can use a normal/specular texture from another) and a texture assignment fix (the reason the 3rd helmet wasn't colored like the other two is because it was assigned to use the specular map as the diffuse instead of the actual diffuse it had in the archive). Also, while you're at it, I suggest opening peds.ide in common>data folder and editing the following line: M_Y_Swat, M_Y_SWAT_WHITE, 0 to M_Y_Swat, M_Y_SWAT_BLACK, 0 As judging by the texture, he clearly wasn't white and as such was assigned the wrong voice pack. I've just updated the textures with maximized MipMap levels. B Dawg
Panzermann11 128
Nice work, but why isn't the glasses on the N.O.O.S.E. helmets transparent?
