What Do You Do in GTAO that Nobody Else Does?

I'm the type who will follow an NPC for miles, without bothering them, just to see where they go.

Not to swing this too off topic, but if you do this in RDR2, you will very very happy, as most of the NPCs have basic little schedules they follow. Jobs/bar/home/etc.

I fire stupid amounts of explosives (over 800 in one go) at the likes of the Terrorbyte just to find how many it takes to destroy it.

Yes, I'm "that boring guy".

Nobody else is stupid enough to do it... but sometimes I'll fly up to the quarry and hope the game is spawning those huge dump trucks with the big-ass tires...  so it's a rare event because almost always, I get there and they don't spawn at all, no matter what.  I don't know what the spawning rule is for that vehicle.  But that's probably why nobody is stupid enough to do what I do.

Then, if I actually get one, now I gotta get on the highway and drive it into the City.  Because, of course, getting it to the City is always the ultimate goal.  It does fit under all the bridges and signs on the highway, close but it does fit...  and then once you actually get it there?  Well, now the fun can really begin, obviously.  Talk about a Monster Truck able to crush cars and drive right on their roofs... LOL  But that's not very satisfying if nobody is around to see it, so I always try to drive towards a white dot on the map.  Usually, that's my kiss of death because it seems to be a rule in GTA V that "If you see a big dump truck coming down the street, you must pull out the missile launcher and destroy it ASAP".  But I guess that's the rule for everything in GTA V, so it's all good of course.  :D

Oh true, good point, you're right of course.  But #1, a long time ago I don't think you could buy one and store it anywhere.  And #2, I'm a cheapskate and it took me a long time to grind up - I think it costs one million dollars, and its probably hard to believe, but back when I was just starting out and grinding for a buzzard, CEO office, warehouse, vehicle warehouse, etc, that million bucks for the Dump Truck was just a ridiculous idea so the only way I could have my fun was to go up and steal one, for free!  :)  But fair point you make.  It makes what I do even dumber, because yeah, after 200 player levels, spending a million bucks now seems like chump change.  That's what putting in the hard work of grinding will do, I guess.  Livin in the lap of luxury now, with my own god-damn dump truck!  It makes me wanna "aummmm" just like Dr. Ray De Angelo Harris!  You understand?  LOL

I sometimes follow low level players making sales while I’m in my akula. When they are on a straight bit of open road I will fly over them really low just to scare the hell out of them. It’s so funny to watch them swerve and crash.

That's pretty mean (hence your name, I suppose) but still funny.  🙂

I once landed on a guy's roof in my Akula as he was waiting to start a race just to freak him out.

He typed WTF in the chat.

Mission accomplished.

I also liked to do this in SP, pity I can never find a dozer in online.

It's fun with cops, since they try to shoot you but only hit the bucket, so nothing happens.  😀

You can sometimes find one in the construction site in Paleto Bay and another one near the race track in Blaine County.

I drive my vehicles carefully ( still fast ) so they don't get damaged (even scratched ). It can be very difficult sometimes with the erratic NPC's. I just have a quirk about keeping my stuff undamaged, eventhough it just silly digital items.

I take my terrorbyte into the subway tunnels, fly drones out of the subway entrances, and kill people. Never seen anybody else in a terrorbyte down in the subway tunnels but it's possible others have too. I like to take regular planes and kamikaze crash into people. I like to drop bombs in my akuka while very high up, never got a kill but the reactions are funny.

great thread.    some quality stuff.   i like to refer to the 'bowling' y'all describe as 'sidewalk surfing' and i sort of judge the quality of my cars anymore by how well they, well... surf.

back in the days when there was nothing that paid more than $20k i used to love making captures.    anybody remember the old Warcraft 2 game?   not the open-world horsesh*t, but the 2D top-down battle simulator, where the peons would trudge around saying 'ready to serve?'    there was a phenomenal map-creator on that, too, and i loved making maps pitting one army against another and the instant you started it you'd get a 'we're under attack!'    GTAO's creator allows for the same deal.   i made quite a few captures that were more or less impossible to complete because of the difficulty of the A.I. opponents, but fun as hell because they were 20-minute WARS that paid the winner $20k.     knife-wielding bikini models by the dozens, bodybuilders against fatsos, rednecks versus scientists, etc...   each player with a squad of AI thugs in tow, lots of free ammo laying around.   hella fun.    too bad nobody ever joins that sh*t anymore, or else i'd still love doing it.

i guess now you'd have to say tennis, and golf.    and i guess helping my lower-level comrades in arms rake in cash riding the wave of CEO/client jobs, and helping them sell weapons in empty lobbies.

The only times I've seen one I was on a job, so couldn't take the time to grab it, not to mention the time to drive it to the city.

They used to show up in the construction sites in the city, which is where I found the ones I trolled with, but as I said, that was in SP.

1. Yes! I’m still that player that stops at red lights sometimes pretending to drive normally.

2. I play golf & tennis...still.

3. I tend to spend a LOT of time in the store and the apartment coming up with a decent outfit spending about 5 to 10 minutes instead of putting on a saved outfit.

4. The dumbest (and most unnecessary) thing I ever done (and still do it anyways) is actually taking time caring how I customize my cars on Import/Export to look like their real life counterparts.

If im bored enough ill grab a digger or a dump truck and drive it to the city and use it to run over peds. Getting chased by LS finest is also funny to watch them fire rounds at a digger.  Also called merryweather back up chopper and the police at same time and ended up killing each other. Also do the simeon export lists still.  Good suggestions ppl on things not many ppl do.

Sometimes use a cargobob to pick up several yellow subs from their spawn points and drop them in the Alamo Sea. A lot of players are convinced that there is a crashed plane on the bottom loaded with weapons. Usually end up with about six people spending a lot of time searching around

The other thing I do which you don't often see too much of is picking up napping players in their cars with the cargobob and dropping them in the sea.

I am sure I said this before somewhere else, but I still do Daily objectives.

Also, no matter what my session has been doing, I always take my characters back to their home instead of randomly leaving them on the street when I log out.

Can't have them just lost in the dark like the end of Wayne's World ;)

I swim. I go from one pool to the next and if I can climb up on the house roof I jump off them. There are quite a few good jumps. Drive a Mule or other truck around to get up to the roofs. Franklin's house in the hills is good. One of the big houses in Lake Vinwood Estates is the best imo.

I get sometimes fast car, set weapon to heavy revolver mk2 but normal ammo and drive infront of selected npc victim, then shoot its engine 4 times and enjoy them falling out screaming on fire rolling on ground, a bit later car blows up as well from burning engine and if i get lucky passing npc car gets explosion damage and starts burning resulting in another npc falling on ground burning out of driver seat.

watching them fall out and burn from silly engine burn keeps me occupied for hours.

Thought of another one I like to do. Maybe this is common though?

I like to start at the observatory, and try to get to the bottom of Vinewood in straight lines of varying directions on a BMX. I do this occasionally with my lad and it can be a laugh. It's like rooftop / garden parkour for bikes.

I'm sure I'm not the only one but I use Merryweather Pick-Up Helicopter a lot for getting around, if I'm doing solo stuff and I know I'm going to be alone in a session. Allows me to do other stuff irl while I'm being transported to a sell/supply point.

If I see a cop/s on foot,(or gang member locations) I drive beside them and start tooting my horn to see how long it takes for them to start shooting. (not long).

I obey the traffic laws occasionally.

While doing so, I have learned that there are a bunch of f*ckers in Los Santos that like to periodically run red lights and get into a head on collision with your car.

While I do this, too often, in real life, I've found you can also do this after calling Downtown Cab Co. and actually taking a taxi ride.
You can also do it after calling Merryweather for a helicopter pickup, as @Endjinn mentioned...

...you don't need to sit alone in your apartment, any longer, my friend! :)
