Sad to say but Silent Hills now. It'll likely never be made now, at least not to the same standard. Death Stranding looks cool, but there was really so much missed potential with that Silent Hill game. The atmosphere, tone, graphics were all just amazing. It was super immersive.

After watching the movie--which is, without question, the most disturbingly over-the-top movie I've ever seen--I've wanted to play the game, especially as I understand that it's pretty faithful to the source material. I'm hoping that I'll be able to do so via an emulator.

This is so specific but I would love a fairly detailed Contractor Simulator, where you can just...build and/or repair homes. I know house flip simulator exists but i want something a lot more detailed. Framing, insulation, doors, piping, drywall, roofing, windows, the ability to buy pieces both new from hardware stores and used from depots, and most importantly, the feature of the structural integrity of your house being simulated and the ability for it to collapse under its own weight. Real time fire damage might be a bit much to ask for but being able to cut out fire damage that happened offscreen and fix it seems like a reasonable compromise

It'd also be cool to have a free build mode where you can just mess around and build whatever dumb nonsense you want to and see if its 1) livable and 2) structurally sound

It is insane the opportunities for self-education, vocational training, etc. that simulation makes possible, but yet is being almost entirely ignored. It's especially ridiculous considering that the promise of education was a primary selling point when the industry was trying to get personal computers in homes in the 80s and 90s.

A person could learn 95%+ of a discipline at his own pace, in his own home, putting as much practice into any aspect as he desires. Full competence and coordination at operating certain tools or equipment may have to be acquired in reality, but one can still learn how to use a tool, even if he can't learn how to use it well.

Other than flight sims, and perhaps racing sims, I'm not aware of many programs that truly attempt to simulate a discipline 100% accurately so that the knowledge is applicable to reality.

I have elected to replicate my vision for Grand Theft Auto: VI or an immersive/realistic equivalent to a full scale, open-world simulation experience to this sector of GTAForums from the ‘Your Dream GTA’ thread. 🙂

My Grand Theft Auto simulator would be potentially delineated by the titles along the following roster:

1. Grand Theft Auto: VI.

2. ‘MIRACLE’ or ‘MIRACL3’

3. ‘Grand Theft Auto: PARANORMA’ .

4. ‘Grand Theft Auto: Orwellian Rapture.’

5. ‘Grand Theft Auto: OLYMPUS’S DECENT.’

6. ‘UNHINGED.’

7. Grand Theft Auto: Fallen Soldier or Fallen Angel.

My dream Grand Theft Auto experience and installment, that of which would be 90-95% improbable of rising from conceptual audacity to actuality, would be the enclosure herein. Above all possible delineations that could be utilized in context to sufficiently define this dream, more of a miracle in disguise, the most epic words across the spectrum of languages would fail to capture the magic and arduous craftsmanship behind this experience.

https://www.worldmapstore.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/US-State-Capital-and-Major-Cities-Map-800px-1.jpg

I would never, ever be able to put to words just how revolutionary of a game that this would be, because by design that would be the objective of Rockstar Games if they were to embark on this developmental journey. ‘We want to go full throttle with this game and give the player the ultimate, they would perhaps decree. We want to max out ambition, put our full vision on the table and let the next generation of gaming take over and give players the full package. It’ll still be GTA at heart, but one massive, ambitious notch above expectations and the franchise as a whole. Heavily grounded in realism. Story, map, sounds, vehicles, everything.’ The aforementioned is of course a conceptual thought. 🙂

However, that is just what this game would be: grounded in GTA, with the elements of GTA prevailing, but being a departure from the Three-Dimensional Universe to a realistic 4K Universe. Every aspect of real life would be lived out to the fullest within this 4K Universe, showcasing licensed vehicles, brands, media, celebrities, and radio stations. This Grand Theft Auto experience would merely be classified as a video game by definition, with zero traces of the Three-Dimensional Universe to be found, which would include without limitation: damage models, driving physics/mechanics and audio design.

This game would utilize the full horsepower of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett and beyond to deliver a fully navigable United States. To facilitate such a masterpiece for exploration and pinpoint navigation of any desirable state, town or city, per the volition of the player, the cloud would be a heavyweight and pull all of its weight to make this sprawling landmass visible and possible.

The map itself..., would virtually be the entirety of the United States, from quadrant to quadrant and coastline to coastline mapped to an exactness, a la a Google Earth format. The map would bring with it everything; a myriad of escapades that could start on suburban blacktop and then unbeknownst to the player creep over a county line that is home to rural territory, and a roadway that has been cordoned off by a fleet of marked/unmarked police interceptors, because a male subject has barricaded himself in his house with the intent to commit suicide with a Smith & Wesson revolver. Or, fire on the negotiator. Along with a plethora of other real world scenarios.

Because of the sheer scope and complexity of the map, it would require decades of scrutiny to cover the amazing vast range of typography within all 50 states and to capture all of the distinct sights and scenery.

The player would have the capacity and luxury to access any vicinity of the United States at will, via land, air and water travel. He/she could utilize a travel application for an aggregator service (i.e. Priceline, Orbitz, Expedia) to sift through affordable airfare deals one way from American Airlines, Delta, et cetra to travel to the desired state. Or, if the traveling route is from New York to Miami, the player could simply brave the southbound drive, hug the coastline stopping to fuel at convenience stores along the trail or book a quick one-nighter at a hotel to replenish energy. This would also be helpful in the event of any foreseen circumstances, such as if a natural disaster/hurricane were to strike Florida and delay your travel plans.

If Rockstar Games were to undertake such a project..., it would undoubtedly..., be the most gorgeous and ambitious entertainment product that they have ever forged in all respects. 🙂

This is truly my dream Grand Theft Auto experience and though the United States map is not remotely feasible, if it somehow was, I would posit that this dream would not be 24-karat gold until 2023-2025. But, it would be so worth it. I will nonetheless keep this dream alive. 🙂

N.Y. Noire set in the 70's & No One Lives Forever 3 or whatever they'd wanna call it

Also something related to Bungie x Rockstar's Oni. That game's concept with today tech would be sick!

Okay, alright...

But, you know that '3D' and '4K' refer to two entirely different things? Also, I think this is supposed to be about games that you don't believe will be made, but yet are actually possible. I don't believe that a literal exact replica of the contiguous U.S. will ever be featured in a game, but I know that it will not happen five years from now.

I'd really like a gta style game with a playstation 2 era artstyle and graphics but with modern gamefeel and mechanics and scope, if that makes any sense. The look i have in mind is the way that the NPC cars in Jet Set Radio look but with interiors and customization. I don't know what the player character and NPCs would look like but I think the world would maybe feel like a collage. story mode would be Mafia II style vignettes/chapters while free roam and/or online would be a separate arm

To be fair this game COULD get made but in order for that to happen i would have to get started on learning gamedev right now

I'd love this as well, but I'd rather it not be open world. I know that sounds weird for a racing game but to me the first two Burnout games were more fun than Paradise. Especially Point of Impact. I can't really explain it.

Same. I didn't feel the open world concept worked that great for that series. Paradise was fun but not quite 3 Takedown fun.

Main reason I liked Dangerous Driving was because it had that Takedown 3 feels and even seems like a Chinese copy of it with how much the menus and loading screens look directly ripped from 3. But the crash damage is lackluster compared to the original. Something I can't figure out is how many older racing games have better crash damage modelling than newer games. Regardless of the cars being licensed or not.

A modern Need for Speed game that would bring back the nostalgic feeling the series provided in the mid-2000's.

Okay, yeah...the "new" ones are decent. I personally felt the true "Need for Speed" feel was there until The Run. After Black Box stepped out of the picture, the franchise's games seemed mediocre.

Come to think of it - I very much enjoyed The Run. Black Box's development shines bright in every aspect of the game, aside from their tendency to reuse several elements along storylines, i'd say it was very well done. 👊
