Advice for a noob?

Not actually a noob here, I just haven't played since 2016, and that was back on the PS3.   Now, I recently got a new PC and I'm starting a brand new GTA Online career.

Since that the current GTA Online is way more different and advanced than its old generation counterpart, what are some tips that you would give a new fresh meat noob like me to survive in a world of flying motorcycles and orbital cannons?

It's the same old game, just with fancier toys in the sandbox.

My advice is:

• to explore to your heart's content.
• do the jobs you enjoy to make your money.
• if you're overwhelmed by overpowering engagements (Deluxo, Oppressor, etc), change sessions or go solo.

It's your game and should meet your standards and expectations of how you want to spend your entertainment time.

Oh, and don't be distracted by things that will take you out of your element.

Here's a list of some things I would do as a new player.

1. Make some money as a VIP/CEO by doing Headhunter and Sightseer. It's fairly decent money and RP making but can become repetitive quickly. Use some of that cash to buy yourself a high end apartment (cheapest is 200,000) and buy yourself a reliable vehicle for transportation. Doesn't have to be an overly expensive one.

2. Once you've made some cash, buy an office (they go on sale for 50% off every so often), invest in some businesses, espcially Import/Export as the money is lucrative and easy to make, and take advantage of 2x money and RP events. They cycle every week and we occasionally get bonuses on Gun Running, Special Cargo, and coming up soon is 2x Doomsday heists. These are great opportunities to make quick cash and a decent chunk of RP. Nightclubs are 35% off and offer passive income, but you need to own a few MC businesses first for it to be worthwhile.

3. Don't feel like you have to grind 24/7 as you will wear yourself out. Take some time to mess around and enjoy the world that is GTA V. Do some races, heists, or normal contact missions. They still give some cash and RP, and are also a nice change of pace.

4. Try to get into mostly friendly/empty public lobbies to do CEO/MC work. The game tends to be more enjoyable when you don't have griefers attempting to get in your way when trying to make money.

5. If you are a social person, try to make some friends. The game is much more enjoyable when playing with friends, and in most cases they will gladly help you with money making (such as heists), and selling product from business for a profit.

Most of all, just try to enjoy yourself. Playing the game casually is a lot more relaxing compared to grinding it out 24/7. Once you get some business going and you keep them supplied, the money comes in pretty consistantly.

1.  Do Contact Missions.

2.  Save up for Office then I/E Warehouse.

3.  Do CEO/VIP missions and I/E Top Range car sales.

4.  Save up for Bunker, upgrade and do Bunker Sales.

5.  Save up for Nightclub, Terrorbyte then do Client Missions.

6.  Cycle between I/E, CEO/VIP, Client Missions and Bunker Sales.

7.  Never buy super cars - big waste of money.

8.  Focus on buying weaponised or armoured vehicles that will help you complete missions quicker and easier.

9.  Never buy super cars, ok?

10.  Did I mention super cars are a waste of money?

1.find a way to empty your public lobby when you sell cargo, at least at first especially because you're on pc

2.get used to an all-around reliable weapon so you can handle situations easier without needing to resort to explosives or expensive ammo (i use the default carbine rifle with a box mag for stuff like this)

3.the buzzard and the armored kuruma will be your best friends for missions laden with enemies (or even one of the oppressors if that's what route you want to go)

4.snacks. Snacks are your best friend, and the office assistant will refill you for free if you talk to him/her. Aiming while eating will refill your health quickly (probably already knew this, but worth a mention anyway)

5.as others have said, don't worry about the grind every second of your game. There's plenty to do for fun that still pays

6.do the criminal mastermind challenge with a group of 3 you trust once you're about level 50 or so. That's the best way to kickstart your business, not the criminal enterprise starter pack bs

First thing I would do is grind contact missions. Some you can do solo. No upfront investments and being a noob the other players will carry you until you get good at them. Heists are a pain in the ass because if one player quits the heist fails. Heists are better with friends you can count on.

Since that the current GTA Online is way more different and advanced than its old generation counterpart, what are some tips that you would give a new fresh meat noob like me to survive in a world of flying motorcycles and orbital cannons?

Step 1

PURCHASE A FLARE GUN.

Ever since Smugglers Run in 2017 it can be used to ward off incoming homing missiles.

Step 2:

- Raid the shops, do every contact mission you can, do the Lowriders storyline. Get as much money as you can and buy as few weapons, clothing and vehicles as possible.

- Make some friends.

- Get a High-End/Stilt Apartment to get the OG Heists done, if you're really good do the Criminal Mastermind challenge.

- Get an Executive Office, Vehicle Warehouse, Cargobob & Buzzard - Grind the Import/Export business - Look up the Top Range Only Method

- OPTIONAL: Purchase an Insurgent Pickup (the one with the gun)

Step 3:

- Get a Bunker, (I highly recommend the North Chumash Bunker) - Grind Bunker Sales alongside Import/Export

- Research all the MkII weapon upgrades via the Bunker - Look up the method where you can "choose" what your next Research option is.

- Do NOT buy the Mobile Operations Centre if you haven't purchased an Insurgent Pickup. If you did, buy an MOC with a Vehicle Workshop to create a Personal insurgent Pickup you can store in a garage.

Step 4:

- Buy a Nightclub & Terrorbyte with a Weapons Workshop.

- Grind import/Export while letting the Bunker & Nightclub "cook".

- Buy a Hangar to create a Personal Buzzard & Cargobob (the only difference is price and whether or not you want to be able to freely walk around inside (most of) Fort Zancudo). Don't bother doing the Air Cargo when it's not Doubled.

- Use this to accumulate major funding for either;

a) A Facility - To do the Doomsday Heist (if you like the idea of Online having a story).

b) A Clubhouse - To purchase various other Biker Businesses (specifically Coke, Meth & Cash in that order) & earn even MORE money via them and the Nightclub.

Take a back seat whit the game chill out, consume as much knowledge that has been shared on this forum,  and this very thread way before you get to level 100 and triple think about in game purchases at all times.

just do it bob1

I would uninstall the game as soon as possible and run to your local gamestop and sell it for dirt cheap. Save yourself while you still can.

I would start by sparing money for a Nightshark or an Insurgent SUV, they're quite good as escape vehicle in a world of Rocket spam.

About OC, there are counters, but soon or later you will be caught off guard so just get used to it. sh*t happens.

The other interesting land vehicles are Phantom/Hauler custom, but you need to acquire a bunker first in order to store it.

Leave the game and move on, if you like GTA experience and you're on PC either play with mods in SP or try FiveM. There are other good titles too, depends on your taste of course.

Performance issues are growing with update releases, content is less and less worthy. It's less GTA it was in 2013, sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. Battle Royale adversary modes, Arena wars and stuff like that are driving players further and further from the core game and what's more important, not really good implemented. Arena wars is a mode when damage matters, but there's no damage apart from the bar you're seeing above your opponent's car. Compare it to Wreckfest. Compare BR adversary modes to PUBG too. GTA is trying to mimic the games that are good by itself by adding subpar modes in the old engine, the result is what we see.

PC? Welcome to hell, Captain.

No spoilers, explore gtao with an open mind. Expect cheaters at any corner. Try different stuff before you buy anything. Be nice and make some new friends.

Apart from the new Doomsday heists (all those can be done with 2-4 players), most of the other DLCs are made for freeroam public lobbies. Postman Pat Simulator - fetch/deliver stuff. Designed for co-op and works best with friends/crew, but some can be done solo.

Personally, I recommend port blocking.

It will give you a solo public session, though sometimes not for some reason.

If not, just switch sessions until you're alone, then you're good.

Be prepared to see stuff like this:

other then that?

- Bunker, I/E, ceo and Terrorbyte missions to make money
- Hunter or Jetpack (with chaff) to counter meme vehicles like oppressor and deluxo
- RC car and Akula for offradar feature
- Hide inside Avenger/MOC/Terrorbyte if you think someone is about to use the orbital cannon
- If you encounter script kiddos with godmode just do this:

I just made myself a shortcut for resource monitor and I launch it every time I play gta.

My tip is not to worry about orbital cannons and stay out of downtown unless you get more or less comfortable with flying bikes : )
