A heads up for lure users.

Just a little heads up for you serious fisherpersons in the hope that you may not suffer a wee R* related bug I am having right now.

 

Purchased a "special spinner" with 3 gold some little while ago via RGSC catalogue. (Excellent purchase regardless btw) and upon recently ranking up to a level where I could buy a spare with cash, did so via the in game catalogue. Unfortunately there seems to have been a problem somewhere along the line as while my camp lockbox indicates that while I now have the second lure waiting there, greyed out because I already have one in my inventory, I now actually don't. It has mysteriously and magicly disappeared with the arrival of the spare. All catalogues, in game and at RGSC show it as "owned" rather than as a purchaseable item now which they didn't after my first purchase with the gold bars.

 

Long story short. I has no working special spinner now, or likely ever will again, which is seriously curtailing my fishing ifishancy. I have put in a ticket to *R but not feeling good for a fix tbh.

Buying spare lures was the one mistake I made.  I haven't lost one before, now I have a couple of spares for what seems to be no reason.

Lost a few of the regular lures to various reasons/glitches but not the "special spinner" until I purchased that backup for it. Odd and annoying. I needs me one to be a fish ant.

whats the deal with the special spinner, game just say, it increase the chances to catch any fish...but if I get fishes anyway with every other lure, whats the point of using it?

The special lure also catches smaller fish and I think attracts fish from a larger area. It's usefulness increased when they nerfed salmon and trout prices, it's so quick to hook anything now that it's a good alternative.

Check the satchel, see if its in there.  Maybe you checked already, see if you can equip it, I do not fish a lot. I had similar problem with chewing tobacco.  I thinknit stems from taking everything at once from the mail man.

That glitch hit me about the 3rd or 4th week of playing, but with worms. I haven't been able to use worms since. They show greyed out and are not available in my wheel. I bought all my lures in the store to make sure it didn't happen again.

FYI if someone shoots your fish or throws dynamite while reeling it in, you can loose your lure in the process.

The actual „bug“ is the possibility to buy more than one special lure, cause it‘s only selling point in online is the fact that you can‘t lose it. 

I don‘t know if you can throw it away on purpose though.

Same here, special lures disappear from inventory, but lures all catch the same fish anyway. My thoughts about a fix (once lures don't disappear):

 

Small fish: bait or spinner (more reliable)
Medium fish: normal lures
Large fish: special lures

Apologies. A silly play on words. "Efficient" it is.

 

P.S R* have reassured me twice that they are aware of the inability to use the "special spinner" by some users.

That really sucks for you, because the special spinner pulls in so many fish so much faster, it's a golden goose. I hope it never gets nerfed.

I can't go back to using cheese/etc and the extra re-baiting animation that goes with. The horror...the horror...
