I wanted to say those bounties would not unlock for me during the prologue in my first playthrough, where I didn't do the Bronte glitch. However they did spawn in my 2nd playthrough of the prologue, where I had earlier done the Bronte glitch. So my feeling is they are unrelated and there is another reason why those Tumbleweed bounties won't spawn. They wouldn't spawn for me in my first playthrough and I hung out there, reloaded a lot, saved a lot, trying to get them to spawn but they didn't.

Have you guys tried doing it in version 1.00 of the game? Patches break things like this.

You need to delete the game and install from the disc with the Internet turned off on the console.

You cannot install a fresh disc version without downloading a patch, the game won't start without a patch.
You cannot choose which patch you want so you are stuck with the newest patch.
You cannot download the digital version in offline mode obviously, and the digital version is packaged with the newest patch.

So it's not possible to install RDR 2 without the newest patch, however, I think it's still possible to play it offline if it's already installed, with whichever patch you currently have. It's easy to try anyway, takes no time at all>

Go to Xbox settings - Network settings - Go offline - then start the game.

This is how I play my digital version that was packaged with the Day One patch. Been playing like this for 3 months.

If this works, remember, you have to go into offline mode everytime you play it, if you start it while connected to the internet, the game will try to download the newest patch. And of course you obviously won't be able to play RDR Online again, unless you want to with whichever latest patch they drop, which could fix those out of bounds glitches.
 

Thank you for the help. I did what you said so I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks if it worked or not. Good thing I don't have time to play any other games that would require online (a wife, kids, and work will do that to you).

Not yet, but after this playthrough I'm going to lose the patches.

Online isn't good enough yet so there's no point having them just to break single player

It's a more unstable version of the game with the day one patch, but it's more than playable once you get used to it.  Also John's classic gloves are normal sized only in version 1.00. Here's a comparison. Also notice the improved AO in the 1.00 version whearas in the patched version it looks like everything is floating.

Honestly this f*cked up item wheel has been the worst part of downgrading. Everything else is nice, except I'm also missing some clothes in my wardrobe. Mostly stuff associated with the Nuevo Paraiso outfit, but also my dark blue jeans

Did you also re- download your special edition pack before playing? I hope you didn't save because this weird bug happens where you have the outfit but can't select the individual pieces. Also the blue jeans are part of the innocent outfit so you can get them that way.

I installed RDR2 on my old Xbox One from Disc. Console is online. Insert disc 1 - question after update deny. Important: Automatic updates are off. Wait until disc 2 is requested. Insert disc 2 and finish the install. Then go offline. Insert disc 1. Start Game. Game runs.
The version with me is 1099.25

I have not tried that on my Xbox One X. There I have the latest version installed.

Is the 1099.25 same as version 1.01 that existed on release date? Did your method work to avoid the 1.05 patch?

I have not tried that on my Xbox One X. There I have the latest version installed.

  the 1099.25 version is shown to me in the menu. It's the one on my DVD at Relaease. It is not the current version. The console did not load an update and it was never installed there before. So this should be genuine. And: the game has to be started again from the beginning.

The version 1.0 is the same as Game Build 1099.25.

I already did it last time, all automatic updates were turned OFF and the console was offline. It installs both discs just fine. When you try to start the game, it says disc needs to be verified... So once you connect to wifi, it says, the latest update needs to be installed, before playing the game. The game won't start without the latest update. You cannot play the game offline. CHECKMATE!

 

When the console is online when installing, and you deny/cancel the latest update, it will just ask for the disc to be verified again when you go offline, and in order to do that, you have to turn the wifi back on and then it needs the latest update, its a dead end...

Well I have reinstalled the game on my Xbox one X and V 1.0 is running with all my savegames. It runs smoothly and looks perfect. Only the map jerky something when zooming.
I think it's important to go offline after installation (before inserting the play disk). I then also pulled the network plug and wlan off.

Enjoy! Beard and hair growth work properly now and... You have John's actual gloves!.... and the camp becomes more alive and requests come back, and you can have individual parts of your face extra clean shaven, and the list goes on and on.

I did just that but the parts were still missing. I mean I can still just equip and edit the outfit if I want any individual parts from it though, it's just awkward

Does it look better than the 1.05 in your opinion? Or is it not really noticable on x box one X?

I did not. I redownloaded the preorder and SE content when I reinstalled the game

That's weird. It only happened to me when I downgraded and played the game without the SE content installed.
