v1.00 advantages?

Recommended Posts

RedDeadJohn

Just started my second playthrough this time from clean 1.00 version and i realise that i didn't even saw how good this game looks it looks like in the trailers before premiere on base PS4 it runs good even the small drops in towns are not big. I notice that you have a lot more annotations about game mechanics. I loaded post epilogue save file and in Armadillo i encountered two times Del Lobos one on the main road in the town second in the saloon, after i completed anything in free roam the game still give you enconters but that not happen in the last update game version i think.

Yep. Also Epilogue is completely ruined with bugs because of the patches.

But version 1.00 on X1X has fps drops sometimes.

Every version of the game on X1X has had frame drops, it's not locked to 30fps.

It does, sadly. Never noticed on 1.05 onwards, but on 1.00.

Where did you notice the dips? Been to st.denis?

It's really noticeable when you set something on fire

Is the 1099.25 same as version 1.01 that existed on release date? Did your method work to avoid the 1.05 patch?

You can't do anything about it I am afraid, same thing happens to me, I have tried re-installing the game(offline) for 3-4 times now. The only way to fix it, is to download the latest patch!

This worked for me. You should see the prompts bottom right hand corner of screen.

Can you play old save files if you go back to 1.0 or do you have to start a new one?

Good to see you back man, all the best

The only thing that really annoys me about this game is when you get into an argument with some guy in a town and he starts shooting at you, then you defend yourself and you have the law absolutely everywhere with almost no escape.

I don't know if they changed this in the latest patches but it's annoying as f*ck and needs to be sorted out.

Why can't I defend myself and shoot some snowflake without having all of America's cops on me within a heartbeat?

is there a way to get around the infinite loop on epilogue saves if you update & downgrade again? This seems to be only an Xbox thing.

Not that we know of. It's really weird how the Xbox version is the only version to have this weird DRM.

Because Rockstar logic lol. But seriously though, the wanted system is a joke compared to the near perfect system in RDR1. They toned down the number of bumps it takes for NPCs to report you in patches in RDR2, other than that, its the same on 1.00 and beyond.

I can't wrap my head around why they f*cked up so many good features from rdr 1 in rdr 2....the wanted system is closer to gta and makes no sense, bandana and masks have almost 0 effect and the only thing I notice when wearing em is people telling me to f*ck off... In rdr 1 when wearing bandana we were free to do whatever we wanted without our actions affecting our honor or reputation, why can't it be in rdr 2?

I also think that we were supposed to have more rdr 1 soundtrack in epilogue but it got scrapped, all that is left are OST easter eggs, like John's dead eye sound, wanted sound from rdr 1 only in one mission etc.

It seems that epilogue was meant to be a different experience (soundtrack, features, protagonist etc.) but got blended with the original one.

AND the most significant.... Instead of John Marston, we now have Arthur Marston and RDR1 weapons and John's NPC clothing cut from the game to be made Red Dead Online exclusive. Thanks Rockstar!

A new HDR Calibration menu has been added. Players can now switch between the existing ‘Cinematic HDR’ and new ‘Game HDR’ styles, and a new option has been added to allow manual adjustment of Peak Brightness values for different displays

Quality improvements and performance optimizations have been made to ambient occlusion in order to match the on-disc version of the game (1.00). Lighting changes were originally made in the Day One Patch (1.02) to prevent framerate issues.

A new control scheme named ‘FPS2’ has been added to the Settings menu. This scheme moves the Sprint button to R1/RB with the intention of allowing running/sprinting at the same time as camera . In addition, Crouch has been moved to X/A in this layout.

Story Mode Fixes

General / Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue in Story Mode that prevented the ‘Gang Camps found’ statistic in the Compendium section of the Pause Menu from increasing after encountering a Camp
  • Fixed several issues with incorrect lighting that could occur during Story Mode cutscenes
  • Fixed an issue that caused some lines of dialogue to not be played when interacting with Rufus in Story Mode
  • Fixed an issue that caused Camp conversations in Story Mode to continue where they left off after the player performed some time skips such as sleeping
  • Fixed an issue with incompatible clothing combinations at the Trapper store in Story Mode that caused some body parts to become invisible
  • Fixed an issue that may have caused broken animations during wagon conversations in some Story Mode Missions
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some Horseman racing challenges from being successfully completable in Story Mode
  • Fixed an issue that may have caused an Item Request mission to disappear from the Log menu in Story Mode, preventing completion of the side activity
  • Fixed an issue during Story Mode Mission – American Venom that stopped the player from interacting with a character and preventing further Mission progress until restarted
  • Fixed an issue during Story Mode Mission – The Bridge to Nowhere that could have prevented the player from being able to use a vehicle that was required in order to progress
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect goal text that appeared on a Story Mode Mission challenge in some localizations
  • Fixed an issue where blood and bullet wound effects would never be removed due to the passage of time from some ambient characters in Story Mode
  • Fixed an issue that caused robbery ambient music to continually play after performing certain combinations actions in Story Mode

If you have an updated epilogue save at the top of your save files, then it will load straight to that from the main menu thus preventing you to access that save. It just happened to me when I overwrite my savefile last night playing on the retail 1.00v...I now have to go back online update the game and delete that epilogue save & then go offline and install the retail disc again *sigh

Hang on a sec, 1.0 saves won't work no more?

Nvm, that method I've said is what everyone else is saying to do pretty much...why can't we choose saves from the main menu ;/

Not that i'm aware of, unsure if it's just epilouge saves that won't load when on the 1.0v

Try updating the game and delete the save in game (make sure to back up).
