v1.00 advantages?

OZ couldn't get the X version to play when he removed the patch, he's in the UK? Can we not revert back to 1.0 on UK versions of the game for Xbox X or is OZ just unlucky? A cache issue? I don't know, but I know he tried very hard to get it to work.

Im playing with 1.02 (Pro)for over 200 hours now. A few weeks ago I read in sites about how 1.03 had downgraded the game, I felt abit relieved. That is until I read the post from page 5, which someone states that R* made the changes back in mid Oct with patch 1.02. 

 

I went and compared pictures from my game to screenshots from 1.00 and they look the same! The train in S, Denis looks the same as in pics from 1.00(I followed the train for almost 30 minutes.) The lamps outside the general store in Valentine are lit at night. (Person said this was added in 1.03, yet it appears in 1.02 ). Im having difficulty noticing if the bread buns on the counters have shadows or not. I have brightness set on mid low on both game and tv (im playing 1080p on a 1080p tv, if that makes a diff). Im completely new to this occlusion stuff, so that may be why my eyes arent used to noticing big differences.

 

Im not saying other people are wrong, I just want to contribute to the debate and know if I got jipped.

 

Btw how do I download my screenshots from my Ps4 so I can post them here?

I concur with you, 1.02 is graphically fine, it's what I play on. 1.03 is the patch which changed the graphics. How are you playing 1.02 BTW? Can you pick which patch you want to play on with PS4 or have you just not updated the game since launch like me?

Is there a way for you to find out which version of the game those screenshots were taken from?

 

That certainly looks like it’s the pre-downgraded 1.00 version. 

 

I’m not sure how updating and installing patches works on the Xbox platform, so I’m not sure if it was even possible to play 1.00 digitally ever. 

 

If those screenshots are from the 1.00 version, that only proves my point further. 

 

All the research and video analysis I’ve done strongly suggests that the game was already downgraded by launch, and the AO you have in those screenshots was not present in any playthroughs I’ve seen from launch.

Anyway, the person who posted those pictures is playing on build 1116.8 (its there on the first pic), which is 1.02. I can confirm this because I'm playing on 1.02 and its the same build. So to me it seems version 1.03 was the downgrade patch, and it makes sense since that version activated RDR Online. So both 1.00 and 1.02 look the same (to him and me). 

 

Also, my Molly is missing since American Distillitation, and my beard wont grow past lv.7. So 1.02 still has those bugs.

Im so relieved now! Im glad 1.02 is graphically fine! Oh and I have 1.02 because I never updated. Didnt care (and never will) for Online and this game is massive as is, so I never bothered to update.

If you are lucky you can still use your saves, some were obviously able to do so.
If not, you will end up with an infinite loading screen like i have, wich means you need to upgrade back to 1.07, or start another playtrough. In Order to do so, you have to delete your offline-Savegames. 
You can restore them back later when you go online again (thanks to the power of the cloud  ). But iam not completeley sure if you need gold for that?

I don't understand the 96 image limit. It's nice to have it be your Social Club feed and more importantly match to the map coordinates.  Jeez though... 96?  Who has a cellphone camera these days with a 96 image limit?  They should let you take as many as you want (on your local drive!) and let you share them with any social network.  They're shooting themselves in the foot for free advertising through sheer image uploads by people to the web.

I'm not downloading any patches for this game as of this moment, I can't let them destroy this game any further, I've actually noticed more funky issues with my game on my second playthrough (after online patches) than I did on my first playthrough from back in October.

In fact if I didn't own a digital copy I'd revert this mess back to 1.00 and enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 at it's full glory.

 

To anyone with the 1.00 version, how big is the game without any updates?

I was halfway through my second play through when the update dropped, i wanted to get to NA as Arthur...so luckily i have the retail version!

 

I ain't going back online for some time now anyway, not until the pc version gets a release perhaps.

I have already went there  as Arthur before the update that patched that, I even got a grey arabian before Blackwater before that NPC glitch was patched.

It's a shame because I didn't get everything I want as Arthur, I was thinking Rockstar will never patch that.

 

but look at the bright side guys, Rockstar didn't forget about SP, they downgraded it and patched some cool stuff we could do, so I guess we did get that SP DLC after all.

Lol! You stupid hahahahah I guess we did get that SP DLC after all!! I’m rolling legit spit my damn drink out hahahahah. Took a wile week off from the board only to come back and see a new patch the 1.07 and they are still catering to online over singleplayer. Keep it up one week away will turn into two then a few months until I finally stop giving a s hit about this game. Might be even sooner Mortal Kombat is looking promising! They are actually giving us fan favorite snack wish Cockstar would take a hint a do what’s right!

It doesn't work the way we'd want

 

If you turn on the autosave while playing "Angelo Bronte a Man of Honor" and activate cheats, it will autosave after the mission. Reloading that file however puts you as mission replay Arthur in Chapter 4 before the party. No bueno. Also still can't save with cheats active.

I did it. the game will automatically create an auto save after the angelo Bronte mission. Just be warned it may f*ck up your game, I had missions gone from my progress and my stats went to hell for some reason.
