As the Arena War dlc introduced a good many muscle cars let's do a new poll.

Modern cars, weaponized cars as well as Arena-War-Variant cars are excluded from this poll.

My hubby used to say he would buy a 1969 Charger for himself and a 1957 Bel Air for me once we get rich. But when?

Well, just three choices is quite hard for me so I'll go for what I consider the top 3 on my garages right now.

The Deviant is my absolute favorite. No restomod in this game can be as beautifully badass as this one, so much that I can forgive the impossibility of making a stock build entirely. Model quality is breathtaking, and even though it's slow the flags makes it get a pretty strong bump in speed on city roads, alongside making it fun to drive since it's, in its own way, trying to kill you when you push it in the city. But I'm finding it more pleasant to just cruise around, soaking up the sheer beauty and badassness (is that even a word?) from it.

Slamvan Custom is not far behind either. Even though it's a lowrider, as a restomod it can do just as much of a tremendously good job at looking great. The gloriously wide rear tires and astonishing performance for something meant to just showoff at a car show completes the package. And that engine note... :inlove: It does a really nice job at getting close to the XA-21's as my top favorite in the game. Beautiful car.

The Chino Custom doesn't get as much use, isn't as fast nor does it have the glorious sound that the Slamvan is blessed with, but as a cruiser it's right at home. And no matter if you're into a more classy, discreet look or a more traditional flashy lowrider style, the Chino Custom gets you covered remarkably well. And it provides a hella smooth ride :D it's right at home as a cruiser, like I said.

Having said that, these are just based on those muscles which I have. Can't give as much of a opinion on those which I don't, but there's definitely quite a number of gems on this class, even more so now thanks to Arena War :)

Damn I just realized that I really have a crush on restomods ._.

Well just 3?

i might go with Tampa, Vamos and Tulip those are not the best muscle cars but surely look like they come out from the OG Driver games from PS1, especially the vamos, i can do the parking lot mission with that car 😀

Vigero! So underrated and looks a lot like it's IRL counterpart, which is gorgeous.

I wish it had more customization options, but it's all good

Deviant is obviously gonna get a boost since it's the new cool thing but it is definitely a good looking car.

Voted Ellie, Hermes, and Vamos.

But there are many others that  I think look equally as appealing or have very well done models.

Also, I think it's a shame to not include the Imperator on this list just because it's a Arena Wars car. I would include the Tornado Rat Rod, Tornado, and Frankenstein Stange too since it seems we are talking about muscle and rods.

I havent voted yet because there is no Imperator in that list. I get that its a AW vehicle but it can be made clean and it looks awesome, definitely in my top 3. Also I agree with Mach about the Frankenstange and the others he mentioned (too bad those ones can’t wheelie btw).

My other votes are going to Deviant and Ellie. Followed close by Virgo (yeah) and Impaler, also Hermes, Faction, Clique... very hard to pick only three lol. But just wanted to mention I really missed the Imperator on that list. That said I’ll vote now.

well I´ve cheated ... I voted for 4 (hope it´s ok :P) :

-Sabre Turbo custom

-Ruiner

-Deviant

-Dukes

the first 3 choices are mainly because they are closer to sportscars or coupes than muscle cars , look-wise (at least IMO ), I actually don´t like muscle cars that much ...

but I cannot ignore the fact that many of them look actually very nice ...

PS: the Ruiner is still my favorite muscle car overall till this day -

PS nr.2 : is the Frankenstange a muscle car ? it can get my vote too ...

Well, since my favourite one isn't on the list I will have to pick other one.

Non-present on list: Dominator - the masterpiece of game fictional car design. It's like a modernized version of my favourite Mustang - 1970 Boss, which is somehow overshadowed by more common 1964-1968 models. Dominator feels unique and stands on it's own and Rockstar put a lot of heart into this one. It's not a lazy copy/paste of a real car, like many later additions.

926500168.jpg

1. Sabre - a legend, you can see the car it's based on when you take a look at GTA1 cover. While Sabre combines Buick GS front with taillights from Oldsmobile Cutlass and is labeled as Declasse, you can't say that it is a copy of real car. Rounded greenhouse and real window is very unique and doesn't fit Buick's or Olds' squarish shape. Plus good memories from GTA VC and SA.

s-l300.jpg

2. Dukes - the essence of HD GTA muscle car. Iconic shape of Dodge Charger with traits from 1969 Pontiac GTO. Again, stands on it's own and feels very GTA-ish. Paintable bumpers are great and give you a choice if you don't like chromes.

3. Buccaneer - another pure GTA muscle. Buick Riviera (a very rare sight in games - the only other one I know was in Carmageddon 2) with an older generation of Pontiac GTO. A lot of customization options and 2 (3 if Lurcher) different styles without big differences in performance. You can keep it as a street dragster or turn it into slammed lowrider.

I don't like ones that are too close to a single real car (Stallion, Tulip, Vamos, Impaler, Faction) because they are not GTA enough. They are closer to Forza than Rockstar's creativity.

I don't like ones that are too strange combinations (Vigero's rear and mirrors) either. They are just a mess.

Ones based on 1 certain custom car (Deviant, Yosemite, BlackFin, Clique, Nightshade) shouldn't be in GTA either. Too dead on the nose.

Ellie would be my first choice simply cuz its a freakin Eleanor.

I think my second would be the Tampa, I really dig the looks of it.

Third idk too hard to choose.

BTW while I got all you muscle car guys here...Is there a thread or list which states what each muscle car is based off of IRL?

I search for gta wikis on google, they usually have that information.

The list is in my head anytime you need it, just ask and I can provide the information you want about muscle cars. Otherwise most of the dedicated appreciation topics for the cars have the information in them somewhere.

Also the wiki is somewhat reliable as previously stated.

Is the Vigero not based on the ‘69 / ‘70 era Challenger then? The “Vanishing Point” one?

All thanks to HotWheels, Matchbox and other toy cars. I had literally every single muscle car model and year available. While small toys are gone, I still have few big scale scale models on my shelf. Vamos, Dominator, Sabre and Vigero

I'd say Camaro. Challenger is 'sleeker' with more rounded bodywork while Vigero seems to be as 'blocky' as Camaro. Ignore headlights as 1st generation Camaro had many different versions. There were 2 rounded only, 4 rounded (but inner ones were smaller) 2 rounded with 2 rectangular inner ones, headlights covered by mesh (pic related) or completely hidden behind the grille. Challenger had always 4 rounded headlights of equal size.

Yeah Vigero is a '67-'68 Camaro. Flat grill leans a bit more to the '68 imo.

Plus Vigero lacks side vent windows. Every 1967 model had them. It's a dead giveaway to spot difference between stock 67 and 68 Camaro.

People would constantly argue over models and years. Take a look at Sabre. One will say it's Buick, which is right about the front. Other one will call it Oldsmobile Cutlass because of rear. Some freaks who have no clue would call it Chevelle because that's the only other muscle car they know.

Close. 67-70 Cadillac Eldorado.
