Lemoyne outlaw
so i have been exploring the rdr1 map in rdr2 a lot more recently. usually i try to always stay in the new map. but sometimes free mode events will take me to the rdr1 locations. and i have come to a new conclusion. great plains is much better in rdr2 than rdr1. in rdr1 it looks so barren. hardly any vegetation. and it looked boring. but after spending time in the rdr2 version. i think it looks much better. and more scenic. it almost reminds me of the heartlands. except that the heartlands has green grass instead of the brown grass in great plains. and there are no mountains or buttes. it reminds me of the emerald ranch area. and i love it. great plains have become one of my favorite places. the only downside is it feels super small. it only takes a minute or two to get to blackwater from tall trees. and there is not much to do there aside from blackwater. and i still hate that town. I agree with you about the plains, and it's true that it is way too small and there's not much to do. But why do you hate Blackwater? It's very western, not too small or big, near the water... (it's in my top 3 towns in red dead). Cutter De Blanc

Pretty sure if I were to cite Sean MacGuire saying "are those tennis rackets in there? Posh bastards." It would parallel his reasoning behind disliking Blackwater. Space Cowboy
RDR2 has fantastic gunplay, easily the most enjoyable one among all RDRs/GTAs. Maybe except Max Payne 3 but I would argue that such gunplay wouldn't fit this game at all. Tryve1 and The Tracker
LeonVegaSuarez
I wouldve prefered Arthur being able to explore New Austin over having the swamp areas in the game.

I will never understand the amount of sh*t RDR2's gunplay gets, it's satisfying as f*ck, everything from the meaty and varied feeling of the weapons, the NPC reactivity (Gore, physics, etc), the sound design, etc, etc, all make for a really fun experience, I mean, yes, the aiming could be much, much better, but is not like it detracts everything else that makes it so great, and it's not as hard as people make it out to be if you have the right settings. That's my point, I wanted a proper western setting desert in the game. New Austin wouldve been great but a new area even better. There's just something missing playing as Arthur not being able to roam a desert/prairie like region. Lemoyne outlaw

RDR2 is much slower-paced game and I believe MP3 shooting, which is superb in MP3, would not fit RDR2's gameplay. It's not that the shooting mechanics worse, I think they are perfect for a game like MP3. 1 hour ago, The Tracker said: I will never understand the amount of sh*t RDR2's gunplay gets, it's satisfying as f*ck, everything from the meaty and varied feeling of the weapons, the NPC reactivity (Gore, physics, etc), the sound design, etc, etc, all make for a really fun experience, I mean, yes, the aiming could be much, much better, but is not like it detracts everything else that makes it so great, it's not as hard as people make it out to be if you have the right settings. Exactly! It's by no means perfect, but it's so damn satisfying. In my opinion it's miles above GTA V's in terms of enjoyment. It's a day and night difference. Emmi
Nah, the story of the Dutch van der Linde gang is over. I hope the next Red Dead is set way before the events of RDR2 and 1 with all new characters during the Wild West's prime years! I’d specifically like to see one take place in the 1870s or the post-American Civil War 1860s. Those were definitely the Wild West’s prime years. After reading the background on the Lemoyne Raiders, I've wondered why zero flags of any sort appear to be flown at their campsites or hideout. There not a union gang in RDR2, so the absence of related flags makes sense. Given the Raiders are generally strong supporters of "the South will rise again" deal, I don't know why Rockstar decided to exclude those fellas flying the notoriously iconographical "stars and bars" flag. Maybe to evade marketing scams where pussy asses smear anyone displaying or even relating to any cause they, as marketing experts, don't approve of? Me neither, if it didn't have that damn reticle sway it would be perfect, it's the only annoying part of it for free aim players such as me, but I kinda get why they made it like this, RDR2 was made with assisted aim in mind and this helps balancing it so it's not too easy, but I hope they get rid of it in RDR3. Probably for the same reason they removed the confederate flag from Phil Cassidy's shirt in GTA Vice City's new version, even though he cleary wasn't racist or anything, he was a friend of Vic. I also hope for a civil war or post civil war Red Dead game, the amount of untold stories and haunting tales from this area is too interesting to not do it. Leave that to modders shoving in the prominent, widely-recognized Condeferate flag onto every Raider camp and Shady Belle itself. Yeah, but I feel like Open IV is holding out the tools to make proper RDR2 mods, they're probably scared of Take-Two or did a deal with them, who knows, almost 3 years after the PC version released and nothing yet. Idk. Given OIV still largely covers GTA V in its entirety, I suspect Rockstar has some odd things going on with the RPF format for RDR2. Otherwise, RDR2 would have full OIV support just like GTA V. Or, maybe you're right. Maybe there's some T2 rep sitting on a rolly chair with both thumbs up their ass. Occasionally pecking away at EULA-breaking modders. Who knows.... Yeah, who knows, something smells fishy to me, I think modders are able to add flags and such decorations if they want to already, I've seen they add brand new weapons and horses using in game assets already, but nothing too crazy I guess.
