Is the Oppressor Mk II still worth it?

Recommended Posts

GTAleksic

Hi everyone,

There is currently a discount for the Oppressor Mk II going on, and I was wondering if you would recommend it...

I heard the speed glitch got removed but I also heard that they made it naturally a bit faster.

I usually use the normal Opressor Mk I to get to Bussiness Battle crates and other stuff fast but also to boost away in case any danger pops up, for example me and another guy are racing for a crate, I barelly come in first and pick it up on my oppressor, before the other guy starts shooting at me I just boost away and most of the time I am safe afterwards. Would you recommend the Oppressor for someone like me? What are it's current pros and cons?

EDIT

Don't worry I am getting it to do missions and crate runs, speaking of which

NEW QUESTION:

Should I add rockets or the explosive rounds?

Pros - nimble, quick, convenient, fun, armed with rockets, what's not to love?

Cons - other Oppressor II riders will shoot at you constantly, and I mean constantly. Fit it with chaff.

As a mode of transport it was always worth it

Yeah, it's still pretty fast at 129-130 mph, and nimble.

Great for crate runs.

Just be careful with the missiles, it tends to nose down slightly a LOT when hovering close to the ground if there's a curb, slight bump in the ground, body, etc. and it can tip forward as you're firing just enough to drive the missile into the ground right in front of you.

I generally blow myself up at least once a session.   😟

It is the single best Solo vehicle in the game.

Nothing can best it only match it if you know what you are doing. And no, you Stromberg drivers can get f*cked, any MkII rider who knows what they are doing will dance well beyond your missile range and vaporise you while you flap in the wind. It can out turn the Jets so all you will do is fly around each other to a stale mate.

And before you mention the FLR2K, thats cheating/exploiting.

Same here, AT LEAST once. Especially during Diamond Shopping in the narrow alley.

If you plan to buy it to help you with business related stuff and grinding missions, then definitely.  It's made me all the money I need.

If you plan to buy it to grief other players, then I curse you with a million blood thirsty ticks on your crotchular region.

I always catch it during 'robbery' while trying to pummel the guy inside after blasting the juggernaut.

Or when I'm goofing around blasting cops.

Great way to waste $10,000...🙄

The only fix it really needs is to remove ALL weapons.

It would make much more sense: where the F are you going to put ONE rocket on a bike, let alone twenty?!?

i'd be OK with that, still useful as transport, we'd all have to use something else for headhunter, etc.

Come to think of it,I blew myself up in the Stromberg, too.

Maybe I'm 'talented'.  🙂

I won't even guess how many times I did it in the weaponized Tampa, and I only drove it a couple of times, probably a good thing I sold it...

Yes, but make sure you own a Terrorbite with its workshop addition, or else you can't upgrade the Oppressor MK II.

It's able to go around 110 (Air) - (Ground) 130 MPH.

Pro - It can be spawned from the MC menu, so it is allways available.

- It has pretty accurate rockets. Better than hellicopters, but worse than Deluxos.

- It can be landed on rooftops pretty easily, for when you need to get a vantage point with a sniper.

- It's very useful when doing client jobs, but you need to own the drone station first.

Cons - It's not as fast as most hellicopters, like the Akula.

- It definitely can't keep up with the P-996 Lazer or Hydra, also your rockets won't be able to catch up with them either.

- It has this annoying feature where if you're stationary in the air and try to jump out, it will slowly fall to the ground. You're also stuck to it while it is happening, so make sure you're moving before you dissmount in mid-air.

- you will probably be a target of other players in their armed and flying vehicles.

You can do 129-130mph in the air, just cycle the jets fully rearward (spacebar on PC).

Takes a little practice to take off, but it's not hard.

I should also note the acceleration is excellent.

edit: the TerrorByte is on sale as well, a very good money making tool, believe me!

Possibly the best purchase of the game given all of the double money/RP client job weeks we've had in past.

If you use the MKII for grinding only, then switch out the rockets for the Explosive Cannon. You never run out of ammo and it's much more satisfying bringing down helicopters with it or blowing up Headhunter vehicles.

Edit: main point of my response here was to say you're less likely to blow yourself up using the Explosive Cannon as opposed to the missiles.

It's almost impossible to hit anything using keyboard/mouse though.

I had the cannon on it first, as I had the same thoughts on it's use, but without some kind of a joystick to control it, it's useless.

I have a joystick for flight sims, but I don't know if it would work with GTA. I have used it with a racing game, but it's just weird driving using a stick.

I'm not buying a controller just to use for one game, and I really don't want to have to relearn the whole control system at this point (too old and stubborn 🙂)

Rockets, unless you want to be defenseless against other players. You can only carry a maximum of 20,  but you can despawn and respawn the bike from the MC menu.

...and the Explosive MG is literally one of the weakest explosive weapon types in the game. Absolutely shocking.

Unfortunately, its very much worth it just from the stand point it makes traveling anywhere so much easier.

True, an experienced Op MK2 user won't be easy if you're in a Stromberg.

The FLR2K f*cks up every single Op MK2 rider I've ever came across.

No, it's not considered cheating. It's a vehicle in the game, like any other.

It just so happens to only be available during a mission.

If it's cheating because you can't lock onto it, good! As it stands, the Op MK2 is one of the most devastating vehicles in the game.

Hard to hit, respawnable within seconds and countermeasures. It almost has no counter.

At least the FLR2K makes it a challenge.

Yes, it is. You are exploiting a loophole in the FLR2K but I don't wish to start that argument, my "f*ck Stromberg drivers" was a joke.

Never bought one. These days it would be way too slow for my liking anyway, glorious Hunter is more my pace.

Ruiner is the only one meme vehicle I own, got it very lately(december 2018) because I was tired to find counters to broomsticks.

Its not hard to counter as long you do something else than spamming your bike.

There is no loophole, its a mission-specific jammer, lasts for 20 min(and 60min cooldown), while broomstick can be spammed h24.

You are still using the Fully Loaded version for an unintended use, that is the very definition of an exploit. We were given the FL version to complete the FL mission, not to fight in free roam.
