cactus.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit on NES was a very weird game to me. I think it was particularly weird because it was kind of like an "open world" game, in the sense that there was this map you could drive around and enter buildings, and of course that would not very common for NES games at the time, so perhaps that sense of freedom made it more jarring or something. But I really hate everything about it, and found all the characters and environments very creepy, and looking at screenshots of it remind me of a bad dream. Ecco the Dolphin is pretty weird. Starts out cheery and happy then gets progressively darker as you continue the game. the Samorost series on mobile is weird in the best of ways. Very imaginative and dreamlike in its visuals and sound. Can't praise it enough, really. -LN-

I completely forgot about this until you mentioned it, but I remember playing it back then and found it incredibly odd as well! The driving was pretty funny; you were restricted entirely to the road and if you hit another car, they would just bounce up into the air. I also remember the ending where you fought the Judge and Eddie's ridiculous fighting stance, lol! Speaking of rabbits, this game was pretty out there too:

Guest
Deus Ex Machina (ZX Spectrum), I struggle to even think of anything on the same level of weirdness. Then again... Automata, Mel Croucher... definitely weird by nature. I was 20 when this was released... good lord. Edited May 6, 2019 by Guest
