lol232
Since I haven't seen a topic with a full list of missable stuff, I decided to make one myself. Here we go. Missions: Chapter II: • Money Lending and Other Sins I, II & III • Good, Honest, Snake Oil I & II • We Loved Once and True I, II & III • Pouring Forth Oil II Chapter III: • Money Lending and Other Sins IV • The Course of True Love I, II & III Chapter IV: • Money Lending and Other Sins V • High and Low Finance (Special/Ultimate Edition Exclusive) (Marked as Bank Robbery Companion activity for Uncle) • Help a Brother Out • Brothers and Sisters, One and All • Fatherhood and Other Dreams I & II Chapter VI: • Of Men and Angels I&II • Money Lending and Other Sins VI & VII • Do Not Seek Absolution I &I I • The Course of True Love IV & V • Archeology for Beginners • Honor, Amongst Thieves • Mrs. Sadie Adler, Widow I & II Stranger Missions: • Fundraiser (available between chapters II and VI) • The Widow of Willard's Rest II&III (only if you only complete the first mission before the epilogue, available from chapter VI) Weapons: • Rare Shotgun (Chapter II & onwards - Hermit’s shack, northeast of the map) • Granger's Revolver (during his respective mission, missed if you don't pick it up) • Flaco's Revolver (during his respective mission, missed if you don't pick it up) • Midnight's Pistol (during his respective mission, missed if you don't pick it up) • Rare Rolling Block Rifle (Chapter III mission "Magicians for Sport", the sniper shooting at you has it) • Calloway's Revolver (during his respective mission) • Ornate Dagger (when you're done with "The Vampire of Saint Denis", it can be missed if you don't pick it up) Clothing: Hats: • Bucket Hat (From a worker at the Lumberyard near Strawberry before it gets deserted, best done during chapter II) • Classic Raccoon Mountain Hat (mountain man inside Valentine's saloon, appears mostly at night, has many but limited encounters) • Liberty Hat (Chapter II mission "An American Pastoral Scene" and stranger's mission "A Fine Night For it" during the second wave, may take a few retries before it spawns) • Newsboy Flat Cap (Chapter II mission "The Sheep and the Goats", worn by Cornwall's men) • Fisherman's Hat (Legendary fish mission strand, either by blowing up the fisherman with a dynamite before starting his strand or at the final mission when he gets pulled into the water and leaves the hat) • Sun Hat (Chapter V, most easily collected during "Savagely Unleashed", might take a few tries) • Worn Flat Cap [unique color] (Epilogue 1, John spawns with that hat, he simply has to drop it and pick it up again for it to be saved) • John's Gambler Hat (same as above) Others: • Scout Jacket [unique color] (Pearson's rabbit request reward, between chapters II&IV) • Vaquero Rider Spurs (Dutch's pipe request reward, between chapters II&IV) Trinkets/Talismans: • Owl Feather Trinket (Chapter VI mission "Archeology for Beginners" - do not kill anyone at the camp) - Doing it from the replay will get you the trinket in the compendium, but you don't get the special perks from it. • Lion's Paw Trinket (Stranger mission "He's British, of Course IV" - make sure to collect the trophy (paw) once you kill the lion) • Ravens Claw Talisman - if you don't get into Sinclair's cabin immediately after "Geology for Beginners II" and get the Old Brass Compass (an item used to craft it), you'll miss the opportunity to collect it. Animals: • Carolina Parakeet (Simply study, kill and pick one up before killing 25 of them, because afterwards they are completely gone) • Scarlet Macaw (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Blue and Yellow Macaw (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Great Green Macaw (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Red-Footed Booby (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Red-Tailed Boa Snake (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Rainbow Boa Snake (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Sunglow Boa Snake (Chapter V Guarma animal) • Green Turtle (Chapter V Guarma animal) - not available on PC, can be studied and killed, but not skinned. Doesn't get added to the compendium, but Arthur draws it in his journal if studied. P.S. Fer-de-Lance snake spawns on the main map in Stillwater Creek Horses • Buell [unique coated Cremello Gold Dutch Warmblood] (Will be gone if you complete "The Veteran - IV" before the epilogue) Items and others: • Oil company letter to Cornwall (Chapter I mission "Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall", can be looted in the last wagon) • Mining company letter to Cornwall (Chapter I mission "Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall", can be looted in the last wagon) • Jimmy's Pen (Chapter II mission "Polite Society, Valentine Style", only if you spare him) LOST ANYWAY UPON COMPLETION OF THE MISSION "Read Dead Redemption" • Jack's Drawing (Thimble request from Jack in chapter II) • Antique Watch (Chapter II, Money Lending and Other Sins II, from the Polish guy named Wrobel, you have to open the drawer with the watch, take other things until debt is paid, then run away a bit to the point where Wrobel is despawned, then come back and get it) • Golden Shield (Chapter III mission "Blood Fueds, Ancient and Modern" inside the manor on the fireplace) • Braithwaite Brooch (Catherine Braithwaite's corpse after chapter III mission "Blood Fueds, Ancient and Modern") • Penelope's Bracelet (Arthur can accept it as reward after the mission "The Course of True Love", not accepting it won't let you have it in your inventory) • Electric Chair Blueprint (Professor Bell's corpse after "The Mercies of Knowledge - VIII", missed if you don't loot him, available from Chapter IV and onwards) • Giant Boar Tusk (Missed if you don't take the trophy from the giant boar after "The Vetaran - IV") • Native American Ring (A random event available any time, but the ring is lost forever if the Veteran's corpse isn't looted can found here.) • Ancient Viking Comb (At the old Viking tomb in Roanoke Valley, is lost upon completion of the mission "Red Dead Redemption", so simply acquire it as John) Now, I've considered some other requests and tasks and I've been thinking for quite a while, but some of them don't really give you anything special or out of the order, nor is there any "proof" if you ever having completed it, I didn't bother listing it. I guess same goes to some missions as well. I'll add the requests anyway later on. I also didn't count special items like the meteor or viking comb or Dutch's wanted poster because they can all technically be collected at any time, and only lost if you sell them. What else have I missed? Edited August 10 by lol232 McAgent, Patrizio, Ayesha and 17 others 19

Jimbatron
Great idea. Apologies if I missed them briefly scanning through, but the Stranger Missions "Fundraiser" and "The Widow of Willard's Rest" are not available after Chapter VI. lol232

It's definitely available from Chapter VI, it might possibly be unlocked by "A Fork in the Road", which can be done in Chapter V (or VI), along with the Baloon mission with Sadie to scope out the prison (I've noticed that makes the final Edith Downes missions spawn) - but it is definitely not available pre-Guarma. Alright, simplified it by saying that it's only available in champter VI. Edit: There's also a handful of letters that can be missed, like Strawberry mayor's and whatnot. Hmm... Jimbatron
I think the Nosferatu dagger is also missable if you play the side quest but don't pick it up. Hetraet and lol232

Guest Guest176525326
• Rare Rolling Block Rifle (Chapter III mission" Magicians for Sport", the sniper shooting at you has it) I went back and tried to get it by replaying the mission, sadly it will only update your compendium but the game does not keep the gun. F***ing bollocks!!!

If you start the first as Arthur but don't teach her how to survive she will be dead by the Epilogue. RJX74, Boozey St John and Jutland

Jimbatron
I don’t see the Old Brass Compass and the Ravens Claw Talisman it’s used to craft in the list (already long so apologies if I’ve missed it). You have to go back into Sinclair’s cabin immediately after Geology for Beginners II and get it - if you got away it will lock and you’ll miss the opportunity to collect it. Beatrice
Hello. One thing missing: 'Native American Ring'. It can only be obtained during the random encounter during the night hours - a stranger asks you to join him at camp and asks for Whiskey, then talks about Fort Riggs. When he falls asleep, you can loot him for this ring. If you *don't* loot him, you miss out on this item forever, since this event does not repeat. Thanks for the list! Damn, I can't find how to edit the post, so sorry about double-posting... I keep wondering, am I the only person who considers 'Documents'-type of items to be also of OCD importance? I'm sure there's quite a lot of missable ones (for instance, two of the letters to Cornwall in the 5th mission of chapter 1, or the letter looted from Appleseed workers, which can't be obtained after they're gone, etc) and those not listed in the official guide (like Norwegian stuff). Maybe I'm just not looking well enough? I'm amazed that this community has found so many cool stuff, missable hats, missable items, so many cool stuff... But documents somehow ended up not being on anyone's radar! Nulla Lex Ink., Kirk Lazarus, lol232 and 2 others
Spencer_226
Hi i had billy midnights pistol in my inventory one day and when I started up the game the next day it had disappeared from my inventory. The explorer challenges also glitched, I have completed all the treasure hunts but I am still only up to rank 8. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to fix? Thx

Edward RDRIII
What about missable documents? Nobody cares about them? There is one letter to Angelo Bronte from Catherine Braithwaite that can be looted during Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern in the same room of the Gold Shield. Use Eagle Eye to help if needed. I'm thinking about giving up on the missable documents and start the game all over from the beginning, if I can't find 'em all, I don't want any. Everything or nothing at all. Juiceman0331
A “keychain” in your kit inventory. You can get it during Chapter 2 saving Micah from jail. Kill the lawmen and grab the key from the drawer, but don’t go downstairs to open the jail cell, instead go outside and use a dynamite to blow the wall. I know about the lantern glitch to get a key from the Rhodes fence, but they said it will disappear during...(I don’t want to type it, because it might be a spoiler for some people). I just got this today. I’ll let you guys know if this one will also disappear in the later chapter. BTW, you can’t do the lantern glitch into the Rhodes fence anymore. So, this “keychain” is now unique. I hope it doesn’t disappear. Beatrice and TexasOdysseus
Juiceman0331
There’s also a watch at the church which I cannot get. For some reason it says that “you already have the item”. It’s on the ground infront of the lockbox, it’s so small and in a corner that’s why you’ll miss it. I don’t know if it’s the same watch you can buy from the General store that’s why it’s saying that “you already have this item” because I bought one before finding the one at the Bolder church. Mayber if I didn’t buy the General store watch, I can grab this one. It’s different from the Platinum, Gold, and Silver. I had space for all of them when I tried to get it again. Another Old Compass from the stagecoach of Mary Linton’s father. When you do the mission to help Mary’s father. Open or shoot the back of the stagecoach and you’ll find the old compass. If you’ve already given Pearson the one from Braithwaite, this compass will be saved in your inventory of unique items.
