jstev4610
I’m torn on spending the cash on incendiary buckshot or explosive express recipes. Does each use an entire fat or moonshine for a single round? Or since you can pick up used moonshine bottles, do I get multiple rounds out of a single bottle? And each is a ten round limit to carry, so no difference there? I want the range with explosive express but not sure if it’s a definite kill like the incendiary buckshot would be. Any advice is appreciated.
C20Dragon
Incendiary Buckshot uses 1 Moonshine. You can only craft 14 Incendiary Buckshots. Explosive Rounds use 1 Animal Fat. You can only craft 10 Explosive Rounds. Range is the same for both, 1 shot kill from med to close range. Only difference is the Buckshot sets the player on fire.A cool effect. jstev4610
What a weird limit at 14. So with explosive express it’s not an insta kill when say scoped I’m in someone, still have to be within sight?
U Carmine
I'll explain. Incendiary buckshot is shotgun only. The shotgun version of express explosive is explosive slug. Express explosive is revolver, pistol, repeater and rifle. A total of 40 explosive ammo. 10 in each weapon type. Shotgun doesn't count. I find more use out of express explosives. I've used rolling block sniper with express explosive and still one shot through scope. Express explosive needs 1 animal fat, 1 express round. But it easily farmed anyway from ducks and geese. ThaBirdCoot
I never seen anyone survive an explosive round, as for the incendary, yes 14 is a weird limit indeed. These are really fun to use, and give quite a surprise to some morons tryna grief you. A shame the Moonshine is kinda expensive at a fence and relatively rare in the world or at least not common in some areas. Lemoyne is the best spot to increase your chances of getting them tho. Civilians often carry them but you have to get a bit lucky. There is also a spot with 2 bottles in a wild moonshine distillery near a small wooden bridge next to Macombs's end. I've seen high levels only survive express explosive if they drank health tonic. Then they need a second shot. Yeah, they probably used slow and steady III + health tonic fortified. If they didn't have slow and steady III activated from dead eye, it could've been one shot. But most of the time when they're in slow and steady III, just one shot. Edited January 31, 2019 by Ektope Fatsanchez and ThaBirdCoot
Zoop_Leroy
You can also pick up 2 moonshine in the Fort Wallace story mission (1 in a room to the left of the maxim gun, and 1 near Samson's partner). Until we're able to buy a distillery to produce our own moonshine, it's not worth it to buy the incendiary pamphlet before the express explosive unless you're swimming in cash. Chrismads
I often get moonshine from saddlebags. On the downside my character is now severely brain damaged from all the horse kicks to his head ALifeOfMisery, Larcen, ThaBirdCoot and 4 others

Much more essy to craft also, but more expensive.... but meh, who cares about 1,20 per arrow if you can destroy pretty much anything. High velocity have higher range, express have higher damage! high velocity cost 1,20$ per pack, making it the most expensive regular ammo type. But it‘s really worth it because it increases your range and youre more likely to lock on someone who is pretty far away. on all other occations (except hunting) Inuse express. Speingfield e.g. has almost full damage with express ammo, one shot on lower rank players if you hit him in the chest, evrry other player goes down with the second shot (if you don‘t hit the head that is) Edited February 2, 2019 by rusbeckia Fatsanchez and DentureDynamite

jstev4610
I feel like high velocity might actually be express plus range, been swapping between both of them when hunting and the high velocity puts more boars down in one shot than the express has been. whether a glitch or just sloppy descriptions, it would make sense since it's also more expensive DentureDynamite
jstev4610
Bought the explosive ammo recipe tonight and crafted up a bunch. Got freaking hit while trying to sell to the butcher by a low level posse of two, and proceeded to absolutely hammer them repeatedly with my explosive repeater and bolt action, plus the shotgun. Over 20 kills on those two idiots. Well worth it and awesome you can craft the ammo on your horse without a fire just like split point. Where has everyone been farming fat? it took longer than I thought between trying to find ducks and hogs, I think the piccany (?) boars gave me 2 fat per, that's the most I've seen. rusbeckia

North of Saint Denis you can get flocks of up to 10 ducks as well as boars (boars are plentiful at night ) also peccary pigs in new Austin yield 2 fats per pig .....I find alot around tumbleweed. jstev4610
I hit the normal spots, the Rhodes ponds and my north run from st denis but it was a long grind to get 40 fat for all my explosive rounds. My issue with ducks is that I can only get 4 or 5 at a time, half the flock despawns and it’s a guessing game on which ones to pluck first that won’t despawn the others farther away. I didn’t think about keeping changing sessions instead of waiting out another to come. I’ve always had good bird luck at the holding ponds too so will give it a go with session jumping.
